Is this GTX 970 paired with i5-4460 enough for 1080p/60 FPS gaming?

Is this GTX 970 paired with i5-4460 enough for 1080p/60 FPS gaming?

WIth decent RAM and an SSD it sure is.

Yeah.

Though if you're building this there are better choices and that build will feel aged pretty shortly.

Replace it with Nvidia Volta GV106 GTX 2060 for better performance

If you're willing to turn some settings down, sure.

might not even need to, despite some aa maybe

>run i7-930 @ stock 2.8GHz
>GTX 680 (previously GTX 480)
>get 60 fps @ 1080p
Why is this still a question?

I am spending about 700$ for my new PC and this is the best combination I found(these two are around 500$)

get ryzen5 instead

Get ryzen

enjoy you're 3.5gb of VRAM

outside of this, yea, should be possible as long as it doesnt max out on the VRAM. 1080p60fps isnt really that demanding and you should turn down some settings on some games but outside of this, it aright

I own a GTX 1080 and have to turn settings down in some games at 1080p.

Post footage of you running Watch Dogs 2 or Arkham Knight at a locked 60fps on your setup.

>inb4 "unoptimized ports don't count!!!"

>Watch Dogs 2 or Arkham Knight
Don't have those.

Of course you don't. You wouldn't be claiming your setup "gets 60fps at 1080p" if you did. Enjoy CS:GO and Rocket League, buddy.

Considering his use of generation-old parts, I'm assuming he's buying used, and there's no market for used Ryzens yet.

Especially cause new Intel processors don't drop in price when the next generation comes out

No I am not buying used parts, I just didn't look for the new stuff.

Just get an i3 7100/ryzen 1600/i5 7600 + rx 580/gtx 1070 then

>I am spending about 700$ for my new PC

>PC Gaming

I seriously feel bad for this generation.

good luck finding any rx card right now

1150 doesnt have an upgrade path, am4 does

Then get an i3 7100+gtx 1060

>am4 does
But have they confirmed that? I know historically AMD sticks with one socket for quite a while but you can never be sure unless they've confirmed it.

>Dual Core

GTX 970 or GTX 1060?

>jojotard

ive heared am4 will be around untill 2020 but dont quote me on that

>dual core i3 in a timeline where ryzen exists
it's not nice to post harmful advice

If a a 6GB 1060 is within you budget get it, else get a 970 or maybe even a 390, if you have good cooling

Dual core is fine for ultra budget Pentium builds.
i3 however is just beyond useless right now.

dual core is fine if only gaming.
struggles when gaming and web browsing. if you need a MAIN rig, avoid dual core. if you wanna just game dual core will do the job fine.

depends on the game. fps and shitty console ports will work fine, but dont expect to play the likes of total war and civ

He wants to play something other than Minecraft.

I have an older CPU and I consistently get 120fps in games. The key is to overclock.

2500k huh?
still miss mine
