What do you think about the new iPad Pro? Should I buy it?

Where's the pile of dongles?

Just got an iphone 6 because meh.

What's the preferred app to browse Sup Forums.
Also, any tips/advice?

I work for apple, and have to deal with a variety of different hardware and even I do not have that much apple stuff as in OP.

TFW wasted my employee discount on a 13 inch and didn't fork out for the 15 inch.

DUDE SODA CANS LMAO

>/fag/ general

Sounds about right

Sadly, if you don't have jailbreak, you have to use Safari

Not sure if this is a meme thread or real but

Has anyone tried High Sierra yet?

No, but I want to try it because of the new file system.

using it currently.
early 2015 13"
>it dies when hibernating so thats kinda shitty

What do you do?

>lcd display
kill urself lmao

Why would you hibernate?

y-you dont close your macbook without shutting it down before?

That's suspending

what do you mean

Has anyone tried games on their macbook?

I have a 2016 Touchbar 15" and wondered how well it plays some normie games like Overwatch, kinda out of curiosity. But I feel like installing Windows is like installing cancer so I haven't bothered to try it out.

Just light gaming, like counter strike. I would try overwatch, but I don't think it would run well enough. Paladins would though, but rip.

>Sup Forums apps are banned because of muh porn
>reddit and tumblr both have their own apps on the app store

I'd miss clover too much honestly.

Yeah, I know that feel. That doesn't make sense at all.

I work in "engineering" when tech support gets a case that even their top tier "specialists" can't handle they submit an RTA and have us basically retrieve the device from the customer and document heavily what's going on and what steps there are to remedy the issue if it can be.

It pays well, and it's pretty easy so I'm not complaining but I'm basically just a tech support dude that doesn't deal with customers.

Unplayable

That's actuallypretty good. How well does it pay?

Well, if you don't want to install windows I'd basically recommend playing CS:GO. I'm sure you could run it at max settings at native resolution, but if I remember correctly, the MacOS port is garbage and has lots of issues with some effects such as the smoke.

Other than that you can basically just play indie 2d pixel-art games on Mac OS.

The smoke is shit on every OS

It's not fantastic, but 22 an hour, so ~45k a year.

The only good thing that Apple makes anymore is Mac OS X. Their desktop hardware is utter trash now. They need to focus on software and look into Macintosh clones again like they did in the 90s, or at least go back to modular, repairable, upgradeable hardware like they had around 2010. The New MacBook Pros are a joke. Are they going to sell you a bootable storage dongle to install OS X on when your soldered flash storage breaks? They also need to open source iOS and let anyone with a developer license unlock the iBoot, or make developer devices that allow custom operating systems like Google does with the Nexus/Pixel lines.

I refuse to buy any laptop or desktop with soldered RAM or storage and I refuse to buy any phone that won't let me install my own OS.

22 per hour is a lot

Until the market starts heavily demanding 4K capable computing devices, I'd say they might be heading in that direction soon. People are going to stop having reasons to upgrade when they realize they can do their FBing and Netflixing and Dropboxing all really easily with power to spare. The only reason would be locking versions of their OSes, which would become the only pull they have.

That's the main reason why I don't buy Apple stuff anymore

Anyone else here use Alloy?
VLC has documentation for url callbacks. I'm trying to find a way to open up videos remotely on my iPad. Anyone have any ideas?
I'd also like to setup a mopidy or MPD server to stream to it eventually. If this is possible, the only thing missing would be remote playback control.

>They also need to open source iOS and let anyone with a developer license unlock the iBoot, or make developer devices that allow custom operating systems like Google does with the Nexus/Pixel lines.

>iOS gets filled with pajeet developers and ruined

Getting sucked by Mac fags.

I shouldn't post here unless they start leaking from their containment thread

Who else /256gbiPhone7/ and /512gbiPadPro/ master race here?

Not rich enough for that

Fuck I want the 10.5 iPad Pro

Considering I own a 2015 13" mbp, should I?

>thinking the reason (((apple))) doesn't allow Sup Forums apps is porn and not Sup Forums

Still waiting for a new Mac mini, hoping for a Space Grey body on all models and a Mac mini Pro version.

I would get an iMac but their screens suck, i don't like the glossy displays and i don't like that the iMacs don't have video input so i can use it as a monitor only if i want.
Also they should release the new iMac Pro Space Grey accessories for anyone to buy.

>implying
I wouldn't call Copperhead OS and Lineage OS "filled with pajeet developers and ruined"
Apple already has a shitload of Indian engineers anyways, which is why iOS is so unstable and laggy now. Their mobile stuff hasn't been worth a damn since 2012.

Tempted to pick up the 2017 function keys 13" MBP, is it a good machine?

This

CopperheadOS is decent. Lineage is passable.

Android MAC address randomization is still broken on the majority of devices.

>AirPods
>7 months after delayed release
>still impossible to buy

What in the FUCK? If a company like Apple are having manufacturing issues, this must be bad.

Yeah, apple already ran out of ideas for macOS soy they will baby the shit out iPad in an attempt to boost their sales.

There are apps that check stock automatically near you, you can set them to buy them or alert you the moment they are out.

>games
>on macbook
>CALLS WINDOWS CANCER

this guy xD

Just got me a new MBP for editing. Shit this thing runs well. And the keyboard is actually much nicer than I expected. Only thing is I haven't used the touch at much. It does make stuff slightly faster when you do remember to use it, but you have to force yourself.

I like keyboard shortcuts in macOS quite a bit. At first it was weird, now it makes quite some sense. Except for hiding and showing files, which is rather obscure.

The Chan

I'm leaning towards getting a "touchbarless" refurbished 2016 MBP on refurb.

Not sure what to do about my 2013 MacBook, if i should sell it or give it to someone. Or i can string it out a bit longer and maybe take it in and get the battery replaced.

See it as an inversion.
An Apple product will be supported 5 years (iOS) and 7 years (macOS).
You can sell it whenever you want for a better resale value than any android or windows computer.

Investment?

>What do you think about the new iPad Pro? Should I buy it?

go back to ricing gnu/hurd, oh wait.....

Yeah, keyboard acting up.

>resale value
Fuck off poorfag.

I need one to safely store my CP collection. Master race ftw! Just wish I could add in a 256GB microSD.

>apple trash
>support

lmao

>MAGA changed everything

I want a macbook for music production. This leads me to ask the following:

If I have the choice, should I go for 2.3 i7 or 2.9 i5?

Is it true that MBP 2015 is the best model year?

I'm either buying a 2012 MBP with 16gig RAM, i7 processor, or a 2015 with 8gig RAM with i5 processor.

I hear that the generations of CPU matter more than the GHz and i5 vs i7, is that true?
SSD's are a given.

what should I go for?

Guild Wars 2 has mac client. And right now is being rewritten to OpenGL to run natively so in a few months it should be great.

>Androidfags dissing on Applefags when their most expensive phone cost half of the top storage iPhone.

It's confirmed that next year they will anounance modular mac pro.

2015, but if you buy a 2012 rMBP and the battery fails, Apple will give you a new 2016 rMBP because of a worldwide battery shortage.

>"Modular"
>Apple decides to create custom PCIe and RAM connectors to fuck everyone over :^)

It's good that you are the choosen one who have seen it already...

you should spend some extra cash and get the 15inch.
i5 and i7 (dual cores) didnt change much in the last 5 years performance wise.
also if you need a good battery, 2012 is NOT what you want

I would buy an ipad if it came with proper hardware and an actual desktop operating system.
I want a tablet computer, not a glorified cell phone extrusion.

>if it came with proper hardware

But user, the new iPad Pros come with the best displays and the A10X Fusion beats 45W quad core i7 in single threaded performance.

...

Overheating trash that even Acer shits on.

get out of here red star

>mactoddler that thinks a 5kb benchmark running entirely in L1 cache compares to processing 4GB video files

This is why appletoddlers are universally regarded as subhuman brainlets.

>next snapdragon SOC benches higher than Applel on Geekbench
>APPLE BTFOED

>single threaded performance.
if only cpus were single-threaded..
being able to watch cat videos in 4k is cool i guess, but what if i want to manipulate spreadsheets with tens of thousands of data points, and do real work.
i need me a device that can do both

>t. butthurt Qualcomm viral marketing department

>people with actual needs dont apply
apple literally sells to the lowest level retard that can do literally everything they want on their phone or a basic laptop from 2005

>still using 2011 macbook
>going to upgrade it with more ram and ssd + hdd
>tfw it will die eventually

what is something cool i can do with my mbp? since i graduated there isn't much research / paper to write for me and i don't know how to code so this machine is literally a shit posting machine for me.

my job doesn't let me bring my own device so idk what to do with this machine besides going into terminal and update my brews and check the app store for update.

inb4 learn coding, no fuck you i want to look cool without learning shit

you're the fucker that gets my RTA?
learn to read my case notes before replying asking me to do the literal same shit i did earlier with my customer

also, what is the atmosphere like working as an engineer? since you don't have to face customers it must be pretty easy sitting in a cubicle writing codes to fix shit or is there more to it?

do you have metrics that needs to be reached and do you work for apple directly or a vendor?

t2 advisor here baby

I haven't used a mac since highschool. Do programs still not close even after you've closed the window?

you jelly? didn't wake up early enough to catch one?

tfw sister was so annoying in the morning and woke me up and i can't get back to bed, went to mac rumours and saw it was on sale and managed to bought one and get it delivered before christmas

Yes unless they're single window programs.

You don't need to know this

do you think we will get to see vocaloids in ar or it will be only western trash?

Turasho

>be me
>be last week, notice a small crack along the top of my apple watch

>45 minutes later someone tells me the wait for a genius is 2 hours 15 minutes
>booked up until next weekend
>schedule appointment for today
>today arrives - go to my appt
>do not get helped until 15 minutes after my appointment time
>genius takes my watch in the back
>returns ten minutes later and says $200 to repair or replace, don't know which. we have to send it off. you're welcome to buy a new watch for $240.
>mfw

Why is 15 inch better than 13?

This.

Would a browser for any other *chan make it though?

Spyware, avoid.

Also, The Chan developer is here, ask your questions.

No, it’s not. Why do you think so?

>you must solder onto boards connected by lightning ports

>not equal symbol
wtf

It’s ligature.

Hi Apple fronds. Android fag here, have been for all my phones so far. Current lineup is meh unless I want to spend a small forturne - is the iPhone SE a good phone, and will it last for a few years at least? I'm fed up of Android phones getting only one update over their whole lifetime and want something that'll remain up to date for a more reasonable amount of time considering how much money I'm spending.

I'm still on iOS9 on my SE so I don't know how it performs on iOS10 and can't tell how it will perform on later updates. That said, if form factor is a critical point for you and you don't want to get the more recent Xperia Compacts (it's the only other small phone I want, personally, not aware of any others), it'll likely be good enough and it should be slated for iOS12 at least, going by dates.

>t. iToddler

Form factor isn't absolutely critical really, I do like the smaller size but I'm coming from an S4 so bigger phones are fine too (the entire SE fits inside the screen of the S4!). Xperias have given me a lot of grief in the past so I'm steering clear of those. Thanks for the info!

Is it really bad as made out by this infographic? I know phones don't always take well to updates, same on Android but surely they can support a version or two before they come to a crawl? I'm so fed up of replacing my phone so often.

don't forget to sage this threads, guys
