you don't need to be wealthy to buy apple products. i bought a 3k€ pc last year and i'm on fucking welfare.
stop deluding yourself into thinking you are 'rich'.
i wouldn't use apple products even if they were free.
macOS is UNIX but without the negatives
desu i could, but spending 2399$ on a laptop that can't even play fucking csgo is idiotic for me.
I can afford it but doesn't mean that I'm going to waste my money on an overheating mess.
Yeah, but not as my daily driver. Just to play around with.
>macOS is UNIX but without the negatives
and all the negatives of macOS
>i bought a 3k€ pc last year and i'm on fucking welfare.
congrats you're a nigger
if you're incapacitated, spend it on shit you need. if not, save to move and get a fucking job
no, if I were wealthy I would have almost nothing to do with computers.
Name one?
desu i'd get the surfacebook pro so i can pop off the tablet and get comfy while reading PDFs of newspapers, magazines, and manuals.
>macbook pro
maybe, likely not
>iphone
no
it's proprietary for a start
>it's proprietary for a start
That is a negative? Are you a communist?
No native snapping for arranging windows
yes, because I can't easily modify the software my system uses
No. If I were wealthy, this is what I'd own as far as computers go:
>high end home server for storage and computational purposes
>X1 Yoga
>if you were wealthy
I'll build a better rig
not an overprice hardware
I used final cut pro in college, i like making videos and have fun using the software, if i could afford it i'd love a 5k imac to dick about with.
or i could continue spending my free money on the things i like and not listen to some jellymad wageslave online.
I have a 13" Air at the moment, tempted to go for a new 13" Pro, the touchbarless version however, i still like my keys.
maybe, i'm not sure. if i did earn a decent wage then i would consider it an option, but i don't know if i would think i'd want to spend that kind of money on a laptop. if money was no object whatsoever, then i would like one
i don't think you're happy with your life
>if you were wealthy, would you own a MacBook Pro, iPhone, etc. ?
No, because I'm technically literate and not gay.
what makes you think that?
Or positives, for that matter.
He's just a buttblasted wagecuck, don't mind him.
Buy a Chromebook for $260 USD and build a desktop with two 1080 ti GPUs. Blowing that kind of money on a laptop isn't very bright.
Apple is the ATH-M50x's of electronics. You're an idiot for following with the crowd and buying a sub-par product for significantly more than it's worth.
with -> going along
In 2009 I bought myself a Macbook Pro, and I can honestly say... never again. Apple cannot into hardware quality at all, and the thing became unusable after about 2 years. As for an iPhone... no. There's no proper iOS equivalent to a number of the applications that I use on Android that don't require a jailbreak. Unfortunately, jailbreaking iOS requires the exploitation of a security vulnerability, meaning that it is impossible to have a secure iPhone that runs what I want. By comparison, rooting on Android can be accomplished just by flashing the right binaries... unless you're using Samsung, but I don't really like their garbage anyways.
If I was well off, I'd probably just use a Google Pixel and run Lineage OS on it.
If I was stupid rich (able to blow a million without breaking a sweat), I'd commission a new phone with an accompanying custom ROM to fit my own specifications.
Maybe MacBook just for the build quality.
iPhone why?
I have an iPhone already. MacBook Pro is a no, even though I love macOS. I'll fight it because I love my function keys.
The 13" is within the ballpark of reasonable, the 15" is ridiculous.
>iPhone
No, iOS is shit. I'd rather buy android.
>MB Pro
Yes. If I had money to throw away and not give a shit about it I'd buy it just to check it out. If I didn't like the OS I'd just slap Linux on it.
>run Lineage OS on it
>not CopperheadOS
what the fuck are you doing
No digitizer no buy
There is the non-touch bar model just saying.
>copperhead
For what reason?
Yeah, but that one is low-specced. Honestly, I'm still using an old-ass ThinkPad, and I've taken the entire thing apart, replaced the CPU, and etc. I love being able to do that. If money wasn't an issue, I suppose I could get rid of this, but I am genuinely having fun when I am tinkering with the guts of my computer.
Nope, I prefer Android over iOS on phones because I run custom ROMs, I already own a 2011 Macbook Pro but I don't need a laptop so my next device will be the 10 inch iPad Pro with the stylus for college.
MacOS is a hundred times better than Windows on laptops but I don't want to get an iMac because I want to be able to upgrade my PC easily. I've been thinking about building a Hackintosh but it's more hassle than it's worth.
I would try ios out. Not that I need an iphone, my phone is a glorified podcast player.
No reason to get a mac though.
I am and no, absolutely not. I'm fairly sure everyone else who got into crypto-mining years ago also owns exactly zero Apple-products.
First of all, I can't do even the most basic things when them. More importantly, when I try some Apple product at someone's place and ask them how to do very basic things I usually get the answer "you can't do that on an iPhone" or "you can't do that on a Macbook".
I'm also generally disgusted with the way they do totally stupid things like solder the SSD onto the motherboard. I've had laptop's die on me before and it's just been the very simple matter of taking out the harddrive to get the data. On those foolish Macbooks you actually have to try to repair the motherboard. The data-loss wouldn't be gigantic since I backup regularly but the whole concept just seems stupid.
On a slightly different topic, the idea that money somehow keeps you from things really is quite silly. I've started giving things like high-end laptops and phones and guitars to my nephews and nieces since the crypto-boom really started back in 2012 but I mostly have the same kind of lifestyle and spending as I did before.
Security.
yes OP the money is very much the only problem. with money i can also buy other softwares too
I'm not super rich but but I make a good amount and I don't buy a lot of stuff. I live in a small house in a middle class neighborhood and I drive a car from 2013, I eat a lot of ramen and mountain dew. I really hate all that rich people shit. Living a simple life is a lot more comfy, even though I'm making 160k. I have an 11 inch MacBook Air running Fedora that I use for work. I have two desktops. One runs Debian stretch and serves mostly as a home server that I use for VMs and storage. Then I have a smaller desktop that's a hackintosh. OS X is nice for shitposting and stuff, but not much else. I don't do any gaming besides DOS games and a couple of XP-era ones that I have a VM set up for. I'm really not a fan of Apple hardware, and I won't be purchasing more of it in the future. I only use the Air because it's small and light, gets excellent battery life, and I'm too lazy to shop for a new laptop and migrate my data (I'm the kind of pleb that copies and pastes the home folder for backups). I will continue to use OS X on my desktop though, and I'm pretty hyped for high Sierra. I highly recommend hackintoshing. It's really easy.
Moving into the mobile side of things, my first smartphone was an iPhone 1st gen in 2007. It was 4GB and cost me almost $1200 because they were all sold out. It was great and I owned every iPhone after that until the iPhone 4s. I didn't get the 5, and in 2013 Apple totally fucked up iOS 7. I bought a Nexus 5 and started using custom ROMs. Now I have a OnePlus 3T and I'll be buying the 5 soon. I like the features of CyanogenMod/Lineage OS. It does everything I need it to and it has no downsides for me. I do keep up with iPhone launches and new iOS releases just out of curiosity, and it looks like shit. I'm not going to be buying iOS devices any time soon. Tablets are of little interest to me. I have a Pixel C and I just use it for porn and YouTube videos.
Also Windows is garbage for plebs. Keep it in a VM.
>ask them how to do very basic things I usually get the answer "you can't do that on an iPhone" or "you can't do that on a Macbook".
"How do I open Internet Explorer?"
Yes, yes I would.
I don't personally like the design of the macbooks.
I have no experience with the OS, but I don't like that you have to get their laptop to use it.
I am very comfortable with linux anyway.
The phones seem appealing.
They are cheap, small and the OS gets updated.
I have no experience with the OS on the iphones though.
Android is a bad OS, I get that it works for me personally but my setup is very conservative and I don't have google installed.
I currently have two phones, maybe I should get a third to test ios, but it seems a bit wasteful.
People who use iphones are usually not testing the things that matter to me, so I can't know if they are even an option for me.
Honestly? No
I'm well adjusted to Windows and have no reason to switch.
And if I did, I would have to switch to iPhone too to get use of the "echosystem"
>They are cheap
What?
macOS sucks, literally anything else is better, even winblows
This is what Wintards actually believe.
You're wrong. OS X is stable (even on unofficial hardware) and polished. It works great if you have the hardware for it. It's also really easy to delete the very few "features" that most would consider invasive, such as Spotlight, iTunes, Siri, etc. The Winshit botnet is permanent though. No placebo tools will protect you, peasant.
The only iphone that is appealing to me is the small one and that one is a lot cheaper a lot of android phones.
The bigger one is cheaper than the top android phones.
this
also to be honest i would not buy my Sup Forums memeing macOS really hard but i prefer iphone over android any day
they are
They are not. iPhone 7 is like 800 euros. And if you want the proper model, it's 1000 euros. Or the same as a MacBook Air.
No.
I dont begrudge others for using them (surely better than windows), but they don't fit my use.
I bought a Porsche Design laptop because It's wealthier than your plebian Apple'aling brand.
I don't run Windows, cucks. But it's still better, which is fucking sad
It's not.
Brilliant retort. Fuck off apple shill
You've backed up your retarded opinions with literally nothing and you want a retort? Where can I find other people as retarded as you? Redmond?
no desu senpai
I'd probably buy MS surface
Currently own a Nexus 6P and was a Android fanboy when I was into gaming and had a lot of free time on my hands to fuck around and do shit like install custom ROM's etc.
I can upgrade to the newest phone for free right now, but I'll be waiting for the iPhone 8 to come out and will be upgrading to that. In all seriousness, Android is only for children/nerds who like to fuck around on their phone and customize it etc. For most adults, an iPhone is perfect because it does exactly what they need with nicely polished apps and a great UI experience. Please tell me how your custom ROM Android is better than an iPhone and can do normal everyday things better than an iPhone. kek.
MacBook Pro, definitely would buy it and probably will once my "gaming pc" eventually dies/becomes too slow. I couldn't touch a Windows Laptop because they're all made out of cheap plastic and the build quality is terrible (except maybe Dell XPS) so MacBook is the only way to go when buying a laptop. Only downside to it is that it's really expensive and will be outdated within 2 years, meaning you have to buy a new one again. Not a problem if you're rich though.
go back to Sup Forums
Please go away, wintard.
Stay mad apple cuck
I'm poor and I own one
If I were wealthy, I'd probably own a P71, not a MacBook.
i am moderately wealthy and i use mostly apple products :)
Maybe putting an iPad on the bathroom. But thats all.
The butthurt is palpable.
>modify the software
You mean ricing? That's pretty much the only thing that Sup Forums utilizes Linux for anyway
>invest in overpriced piece of garbage
>surprise, it's a steaming pile of shit
>seek approval from Sup Forums to justify purchase
I'm not even rich but & I own a 2015 13.3" rMBP & an iPhone 7
I like the Apple ecosystem, so yeah once I do get "rich" maybe I'll buy a Mac Pro
no because i don't like mac os, apple keyboards and ios
so basically everything that makes apple unique
I'm Fucking idiot.
And????
If money wasn't an issue i would buy macs but not ios devices. I used iphones for a long time but they have been surpassed by android devices for a while now.
>I couldn't touch a Windows Laptop
The operating system you have installed on your laptop does not affect whether or not it is durable
So they cost just as much as XZ Premium and S8+ except with a worse OS?
Can you read?
Or about as much as two OnePlus 3Ts, except that you'll get more battery life and performance out of just one 3T.
I owned (and I still do) an iPod 5G (iirc) and went batcrazy. Although I remember the menu being fast and comfy, I won't repeat again because iTunes or iTunes "alternatives" lack of formats etc
For that matter, Rockbox was the best choice I did.
Oh, and replying straight, no, I won't get anything apple related even if rich. There's enough brilliant Android items or hardware to satisfy me.
Can you apple cuck?
>t. iPakeet
I had few macs, iphones and ipads. Now I have only imac 27 retina and macbook air 13. Iphones unfortunately have a shitty battery lifetime.
how much do they pay you to spew this shit
I'm pretty ok with my blackberry curve, so I'd keep it despite the flaws or maybe upgrade to new one
replace my X201 with X220, get a T420, ssds in both, tune x220 for battery life, upgrade T420 for max power
I just have no need for apple products - I can't stand using new keyboards or touchscreens (though appleshit is probably the best of the lot in both cases, sans touchbar).
Anything apple does on the desktop doesnt fit my needs either - I'd be better served either building myself (which I enjoy) or ordering from a custom pc builder.
oh and if I had to spend a couple hundred grand on technology, im getting a motherfucking petabyte raid60 array for primo porn storage and the baddest xbmc library you ever saw
of course im speaking as if I hypothetically came in to a load of money.
If I was wealthy from day one I'd have been raised quite differently and I doubt I'd have cultivated such an interest in technology (so I'd probably use appleshit exclusively).
I'm an investment lad with millions. Who cares if anyone believes me, I'm just another post, but - I don't like the design of Apple products. They look to try really hard, and I hate it.
I am building my own datacenter
Honestly, if i did have so much money to spend i still wouldn't.
I'd still build my own
What is the possibility for macbooks in future to be updated with mobile ryzen? Have mid 2012 retina and didn't feel at all the need to upgrade this year, but I would like to eventually in 2 years or so.
Nah, it would be a thinkpad or dell latitude
probably a non touchbar MacBook Pro for portability
How many times are we going to have this thread?
tbqh I get more gay guys come up to me in startbucks when Im using an iCuck device
No. I already own a 15" MacBook Pro and have an Android phone with no intention of ever switching to iOS.
>iPhone
fuck no
>Macbook
I used to want one, but they went to shit with upgradeability and USB C. Fuck this.
I fell for the used thinkpad meme, it's way cheaper, well built, upgradeable, has a decent display, good battery and it's probably faster as well since macbooks throttle to oblivion.
No, a thinkpad is more comfy to use
Aluminium with sharp edges feels like shit
