Epyc won't be any faster than Ryzen, it's the same Die - just 4 of them.

Numa Numa ey!

youtube.com/watch?v=Z4xc3dXDE5I

Not shit sherlock.

I'd guess they sell 16C @ 1k$

They already showed TR running at near 1:1 scaling at Computex. It did the Ryzen Blender test in 13 seconds compared to 24 on the 1800X. youtu.be/NeuamYdfU4w?t=16m

You realize that would still completely anally annihilate Intel's slow-ass ringbus Xeons that scale like shit, right?

We need cinebench scores.

1650*1.9=3135
There you go, bitch.

>ryzen
>threadripper
>epyc
AMD's marketing department needs to be fired.

t. jew

Threadripper right? i assume epyc has lower scaling due to clocks but would probably round up about to linear again if it matched the clocks

>m-muh i7, i9, i11, i13, i15...

1650*1.99= 3283.

Threadripper's fine. Zen would have been better than Ryzen. Totally agree with you on Epyc.

Epyc is 100% a jab at Intel. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Explicitly_parallel_instruction_computing

youtube.com/watch?v=daJTVyyvUfI

my theme song while killin some intel jews

...

Hoo boy, it's going to be a massacre.

Intel is fucked.

No shit sherlock. 90% of the market runs int workloads where Zen THRIVES. It's a server core designed from scratch to eat through server market. And fabric... Oh, fabric, near seamless multi die and multi-socket scaling

who gives a shit

where's Vega?

SIGGRAPH. You don't want them to rush it out. Let them make another R700. Or R300.

ryzen and threadripper are nice, epyc's kinda retarded tho

>3.96/4.00 max

What kind of unicorn blood, arcane magic is Infinity Fabric?

We don't really know. Like, really, AMD told fuckall about it, and for a good reason, it's their secret sauce. Now they only have to apply it to GPUs.

It's Hypertransport on crack, basically.

Data fabric is HT+, yes. What is control fabric?

poo in loo magic, apparently.

Infinity Fabric works at RAM speeds, though, so the better frequencies and lower latencies will be a defining factor on the actual performance.

It works in 2:1 mode for kikeripper.

Xeon 2-4P scaling is pretty bad tho.
Having a 4 die setup puts memory access on the same tier and only hurts cache access.
Why the fuck are you context switching so rapidly? Even intel will be hurt by this because bingbus.

And based on what we've seen so far, it scales near 95%.

Bingbus is no more. We mesh of bingbuses nao.

You all realize that AMD is essentially ran by multiple former IBM r&d leads, right? It's not that surprising when, with the exception of their treasurer (who's probably a financial wizard himself to keep AMD afloat the last few years), your leadership is comprised of people with multiple electrical engineering degrees from MIT, are able to engineer "magic." IBM expertise applied to x86 and graphics IP with laser focus.

amd.com/en-us/who-we-are/corporate-information/leadership

As yes, ynstruction

I just bought a ryzen 5 1600x today
did I fuck up?

no

You probably don't need a 16-64 core processor if you bought a 6 core processor to begin with so probably not.

>IBM Nazis, dude who literally created Dell's server business, Pajeet that made cards so good nvidia repeatedly shat it's pants in damage control etc etc
Good stuff.

ebyn

considering you could have gotten the 1600 instead and OC it, plus you get a good CPU cooler for basically free

yes.

It's still better than getting 7600k.

>IBM Nazis
>Pajeets

Is...is this the rumored aryan brotherhood?

1600 OC is still playing the silicon lottery like usual. Maybe he got it on sale.

Who knows. I know that that Pajeet makes good bibeocards. I know AMD's CEO is extremely competent compared to every bean counter at Intel period. I know (former) Dell server dude can make OEMs adopt fucking EPYC's. Good shit.

...

zozzle

Epyc comment bro xD
Now delid this right now

Ryzen is good.
The other two could've used a bit more consideration.

why? they seem fine to me , even Ebyn doesn't sound retarded. i mean is not like it was called "DarkSlither" or something like that.

Don't give them ideas.

When does the NDA expire? My buttcoins are ready if the 32 core has decent clocks and someone has a workstation motherboard.

Threadripper is neat and Ryzen just needed to be pronounced like "Risen".

Tomorrow. Supposed leaks here :
videocardz.com/70266/amd-epyc-7000-series-specs-and-performance-leaked

shit, okay, so paper release in august and availability in autumn.

epyc was supposed to be called epoch

What? It's actual release on SIGGRAPH.

sure it is.

yeah, the same way they said q2 2017 availability a month before that, how they said Zen launches in 2016, and how they said Polaris uses less than 150W and you can xfire two of them to beat a 1080 in all games. The same way they said Fury will be an overclockers dream, and the same way they said that Bulldozer will be the next big thing.

0/10 bait.

ADD MOAR BINGBUS

Vega FE is available Q2 2017.

>literally moar bingbus
lmao

The real question is whether AMD is going to produce a good stock cooler for Vega like they did for Ryzen. I don't want to pay a $50+ gaymen tax for a card with decent cooling.

I wonder if there's ever going to be a reference RX Vega.

If youre gona shill out 500+ on a cpu you might as well spend an extra 50+ on a good cooler

Happy with mine, Threadripper motherboard should be pretty expensive

Don't they have to for OEMs? It just might not be publicly available like the 300 series.

While aftermarket CPU coolers are nice they're not an absolute requirement for Ryzen(assuming you get the 1600/1700 which actually come with a stock cooler). Likewise while adding 2+ fans and half a pound of aluminum improves your GPU I'd honestly just prefer a blower that blows air instead of dick.

aren't they called "naple" in the beginning?

Naples.

the IBM meme isn't really a good appeal in this case considering every PC product they built after the AT was so-so at best before they ultimately were forced to sell off their unprofitable business while they were so shit at making chips that even Apple dropped their underperforming trash

Nice voltages.

1800X quality bins in six core format. They routinely beat 1700s just because of the faster speeds.

There's no marketing department, they names were voted and picked by the engineers
At least Ryzen it's confirmed to have happened that way
Naples the codename, just like Whitehaven it's the codename for Threadripper

I hate it when the NDAs are in american timezones, it's already the 20th here. Anyone know what time it expires?

Wait, really? That's silly.

>how they said Zen launches in 2016
They never said this
>and how they said Polaris uses less than 150W and you can xfire two of them to beat a 1080 in all games
They never said this either
> The same way they said Fury will be an overclockers dream
Yeah, this was badly done, the overclockers dream part was a reference to the decent board and cooling in the stock units, which it's totally useless in an arch that has never been a clock demon
>and the same way they said that Bulldozer will be the next big thing.
They never said this, in fact at their Hot Chips presentation they had already confirmed that there were important regressions in serial performance compared to Stars

shouldn't you always expect it to be in PST, Silicon Valley Time?

The NDA expiration date is part of the NDA, which I think is stupid for product releases.

But I have seen some NDAs lift at midnight EST the day of up until 9:00 AM PST. And then some weirder NDA lifts like 4:00 PM EST.

Should I lower voltages? I got it stable at 1.275v but I just wanted a little bit of leverage.

Rice-n is good marketing for the ones that look just that

It might though, it's only 4 dies, but the infinity fabric is twice the speed.

Depending on the application, you might actually see improved performance over desktop Ryzen (or rather, less bottlenecking than desktop Ryzen)

>1800X quality bins
So is it possible to unlock additional cores with special motherboard?
I remember same thing happening with 3core AyyMD cpus that were unlockable to 4core via modded bios

>It might though, it's only 4 dies, but the infinity fabric is twice the speed.
That was terrible, let me rewrite that.
>It might though, it's the same die quadcore module design, just with 4x the modules, however the infinity fabric is twice the speed.

They have no marketing department.
It's all engineers shitposting.
Somewhere in AMD there's a fucking engineer giggling about spurdo when he thinks of Epyc.

>shouldn't you always expect it to be in PST, Silicon Valley Time?
Computer hardware s always unpredictable, sometimes they end as soon as it hits the date in new zealand timezone, others aim for when both the USA and Asia are awake and then some are just in US timezones and it expires when they hold an event.

Bipeline and bingbus srill make me laugh

Kek

doubt it

try it, my 1600x stock runs 3.7 at 1.275
people say it can do the same but at 3.9, waiting for gigabyte to make proper bios before trying

well Intel uses numbers.
i3, i5, i7, i9.
Makes sense.

So there is this for AMD:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bristol_stool_scale

Type 1 could be the previous gen.
Type 3 is Ryzen 3.
Type 5 is Ryzen 5.
Type 7 is Ryzen 7.

Even the numbers match.
Type also has a Y like Ryzen.
Coincidence?

this is what intelfags are reduced to

wasn't my idea.
AMD decided that it would be great to have smeared shit as a logo for Ryzen.

just a reminder

ryzen on the same speed scale on 97.1%
add this to the 80% of yield amd said it has
they can literally fill the marker with ryzens defected or not and wont even care about selling them even near loss

This has been known since before even Ryzen launched. And of course it will be faster. Just moar coarz kind of faster.

ebyn

It's a good logo, the name is the problem here.

>EPYC

>Homophobiclake

Like the companies that will buy it will care, right?

every single server rack with amd on it should have this in front
