Russian poverty levels reach 9 year high

"Rossiya is strong! Rossiya will fight and overtake the degenerate West!"

>Russia’s recession-hit economy has propelled the country’s poverty rate to a nine-year high, state statistics showed, as the country struggles to cope with a crippling economic crisis.

>An average of 19.2 million Russians – or 13.4% of the population – were living last year on less than 9,452 roubles ($139) a month, the minimum subsistence level determined by the Russian government in the fourth quarter.

>This figure represents a 20% increase year-on-year, with an average 16.1 million people living below the poverty threshold in 2014.

and the niggros are beaten every day in USA

Russia is pretty based though, their country is just a shithole worse than almost every South American country

It's a third world country with rockets, nothing based about that

The people are pretty cool sometimes, they're good at sports, cool inventions and innovations, etc

Still a shithole tho

obama is a chmo. Russia goes vpered.

Yeah but I think you can find cool people in almost every country. But in general I also really liked it when I visited. It's sad what's happening to the country tbqh

That's what I meant

Pretty interesting and cool country with a lot of history that's quite shit economically and isnt all that good to live in

>czechia #4
Finally we achieved something noteworthy again

Yep, thats how our history goes.
Alas, we dont live like in Austria, Netherlands, not even Finland. But we also don't live like in Bangladesh or Yemen. We are who we are.

>"Rossiya is strong! Rossiya will fight and overtake the degenerate West!"
Dont know where did you take that. Our goals are nothing like it. Thing we tell to West - we know we are not friends and we dont expect anything good form you.

>It's a third world country with rockets
>their country is just a shithole worse than almost every South American country

It is obviously not.

>It's sad what's happening to the country
Sad? Right. It was sad 10 years ago, it was even more sad in 90s when SU ended. But western guys trying to evaluate it are laughable.
We'll see if we solve our problems and where it will get us.

>Russia
>Not Bangladesh with missiles

Can a Russian explain why the USSR suddenly went to shit in the 1980s? Why did mostly everything work fine until the 1980s then suddenly bread lines appear and supermarket shelves are empty?

Did something change? Was there a major reform or something that fucked up?

Russia made a progress during Putin's rules because it was also a period when oil price began to grow rapidly and Russia could finally invest a lot of money into economy. Standard of life of an average Russian radically improved thanks to it, and it is a fact beyond any discussion. Of course their biggest mistake was that they didn't use these 10 years of high oil price on creating functional economy exporting something else than raw materials. Now they suffer because of it, and will suffer for many years yet.

Another thing that shocked me during my trip to Russia was a wealth inequality. Strict center of Moscow doesn't differ much from European capitals, it has everything: brand shops, big glass buildings, nice infrastructure and rich people: streets of Moscow are literally filled by very expensive cars like lexus or mercedes. But it is enough to leave Moscow and travel to any "muhosransk" (that's how Russians call cities with less than half a million of population), and completely different reality emerges: everything looks like taken from 70s, dirt, and most people can't even afford a car, and you can see a lot of Ladas produced in 80s instead of mercedeses.

I think that it is the biggest challenge for Russia: to distribute its wealth more fairly throught the country, but Russia needs something more than oil pipe for it. Russia needs a lot of companies and business to do it - business that doesn't need to be connected with Russian government to be successful.

In November 2008, the retired KGB lieutenant-general Nikolai Leonov, in assessing the overall results of Putin's economic policies for the period of 8 years, said: "Within this period, there has only been one positive thing, if you leave aside the trivia. And that thing is the price of oil and natural gas."[69] In the closing paragraphs of his 2008 book, the retired general said: "Behind the gilded facade of Moscow and Saint Petersburg, there lies a demolished country that, under the current characteristics of those in power, has no chance to restore itself as one of the developed states of the world."[70][71]

reminds me of that rotten potato guy in rossiya. probably the same guy, he once uploaded a photo where he and his partner eat very little food together with chopsticks.

the society started to open and the people finally started seeing that they dont live in paradise. thats pretty much it. in every soviet country when theres a huge economic uplifting its because the numbers have been fudged, someone was gulaged hard or they sold their gold reserve to make up for vitally needed products.

That is what a gay guy from russia told me. Everything outside the cities is horrible....He was surprised when he saw all the christmas tree lights on the houses in my city...

>Dont know where did you take that.
I guess from russia tv, news and the country folks

Russia is in a war. They are still doing better than before Putin.

American poster has experience with those?

>graph ends in 2011
>still doing better than before putin

>Can a Russian explain why the USSR suddenly went to shit in the 1980s?

I also visited Russian rural regions, so called "glubinka" and it looked literally like third world. I felt as if i was teleported to Africa or something. Half-deserted places, rusty wrecks of soviet agricultural equipment everywhere, miserable old people taking 100 dollar of retirements or nothing at all, wooden cottage-houses with destroyed walls and roofs... 1/3 of Russian population lives in rural areas and these people live literally in third world conditions in most places in Russia

t.Michał Pater

I don't know, I just said it wasn't hollow words.
The government doesn't fight the west, but our propaganda does.

Who?

Dont worry about russia sweet burger

the same "chosen tribe" that made russia what it is today are hard at work in your "country" as well.

Thanks for opening the flood gates and letting them in. How are yous enjoying the cultural buttsecks so far? :^)

>still haven't been able to take advantage and get a russian gf to pimp on twitch streams for donations

fuck

I enjoy it when russians suffer

they do too

yes we are poor

But still much better off than before Putin's rules, so i can't even blame you for supporting him

Fine.

I thought Michal Pater was the only pole who visited glubinka.

> PPP

This measure is useless now because Russia experiences big inflation and a lot of other economical perturbations.

...

I had a Russian girlfriend for some time, she lived in Ulan-Ude (she is white and blond, not buriat though), and i visted her regions few times and we traveled through Russia together. She told me a lot of things about Russia: mainly negative ones because she seemed to hate it. Today she lives in Australia.

That statement made no sense. How would inflation make PPP any less useful? More useful might actually make sense.

GDP PPP is a measure correcting nominal GDP with a purchase power. Average Russian salary is around 30k rubles, but prices grew by almost 50% due to fall of oil price. For example, average price of BigMac in 2014 was 83 rubles before crash of oil price. Now average price of BigMac in Russia is 130 rubles. It means that Russian people can buy much less of it now. PPP measure is not properly updated and doesn't include effect of mass inflation on consumption in Russia

You are an awful creature.

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha

Nothing gets me satisfied than seeing a country that opposes America starve to death, I hope half the fucking Russian population dies from starvation and the US nukes that shithole along with the middle East.

Fuck Russia, fuck China, fuck Muslims, fuck Mexicans. They can all starve to death, every time i read about poverty in a different nation, I smile.

Russia has a future if they manage to make itself independent from oil-selling income and don't manipulate itself in bigger war.

le western values

did you know that all the mexicans that pick your crops for slave wages piss and shit all over them before theyre shipped to your grocery stores?

Thats why you hear so many cases of food poisoning in US.

at least russians dont eat mestizo piss and shit for lunch.

nice joke

Russian posters are fuckwits let the cunts starve

You have educated population and a lot of valuable companies (mainly in military sector but it can be easily broadened). You only need better government

United states only 22%? No fucking way

You should do something similar to Saudi Arabia instead of spending money on military.

independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/saudi-arabia-prepares-for-post-oil-era-by-setting-up-worlds-biggest-sovereign-investment-fund-a6964951.html

that is.
the government does not need the educated and rich population because they will not vote for them by reason of getting 500 rubles.
>You only need better government
haha. Tell me any reason why the government should give up. It's absurd. Look at Belarus. 20 years of lukashenko.

What you are arguing is that the the providers of the data are either incompetent or dishonest. I could not find the source of the data with a quick search, but the World Bank data is pretty much the same:

data.worldbank.org/indicator/NY.GDP.PCAP.PP.CD/countries/RU--XR?display=graph

>20 years of luaszenko

nobody offed him yet

so I guess he's doing a good job.

>so I guess he's doing a good job.

Russian energetical and financial donations are 20% of Belarusian GDP. If Belarusians had to pay normal prices for gas, gasoline and electricity, they would have revolution in the country in a week

They're rebuilding a domestic industry which was robbed from them by Yeltsin. In about ten years when sanctions come off Russia will actually have an economy which is not pure oil; sanctions are actually helping them.

Free trade makes economies which are dependant on only a few industries.

probably only dirty slav bronies use pornhub for MLP porn. others probably use image boorus for their degeneracy.

as Putin is...
That's what we are talking about...

Wait, did they benefit or hurt from raised oil prices?

70s was literally the best period in communist times, because of very high oil price. It was a period of the biggest infrastructure investments in housing and factories. 80s and 90s was a period of low oil price and also a period of disintegration of soviet union and extreme poverty in post-soviet Russia. 2000-2014 was a period of very high oil prices, rules of Putin and radical improvement of standard of life of average Russians. Now oil price is somewhere between period of prosperity and period of poverty.

>They're rebuilding a domestic industry which was robbed from them by Yeltsin.
Yeltsin didn't do anything to help but the collapse of the USSR was what fucked them in the 90s and oligarchs seizing everything which Yeltsin allowed.
>In about ten years when sanctions come off Russia will actually have an economy which is not pure oil; sanctions are actually helping them.
They had plenty of time to invest in non resource based businesses. Also, as I ng as the oligarchs exist its like an economic parasite.

You have mixed cause and consequence.

Thanks based Saudis.

It is more a result of energetical revolution in the USA and shale oil extraction technology. Saudis are only responding to this by declaring price war over the American shale industry, unsuccessfuly because number of rigs grows again as the oil price gets closer to 50 dollar

>For example, average price of BigMac in 2014 was 83 rubles before crash of oil price. Now average price of BigMac in Russia is 130 rubles
This is sorta the point of PPP, except it measures a lot more than the Big Mac index do.
It measures housing prices, and cost of raw ingredients, etc.
Big Mac Index is flawed because in different countries different products holds different values. And Big Mac might be altered to confer to that standard.

PPP is a solid measurement because Russia isn't refining its own rare minerals and resources. Its selling them, and then buying some of the back. If the Reube is too weak to do its job, or the economy is shit, that will reflect in PPP, by A LOT.

in other words the merchants have russians by the balls and they're crashing the ruble plane with no survivors.

such is the tuff luck of economical warfare

OY VEY!

Thats merchant 101, goy

Stop ridiculing Poland, retarded troll. You stink like shit on this imageboard. Come back to krautchan, 70 IQ animal

h-how have I never heard of the Bic Mac index

>Stop ridiculing Poland

what is poland?

is this a long forgotten kingdom like never never land?

When your politicans start to argue, they often go straight to GDP, ignore PPP, or go on about Muh Jobs or Muh American Exceptionalism.
Big Mac Index is actually decent.
If there was a Cola Index was really a bigger thing, would be really good since its a good Global overview over import prices.
Sadly its a footnote joke economist.com/node/456039

also

whats the matter kike

truth makes you rage?

I bet CIA and mossad already has their economic hitmen infiltrated balls deep in russia

Please stay strong Russians. :( I love you, and I miss your country.

You know, people can and will ridicule Poland or any other country as much as they like and there is nothing you can do about it except shitposting.

# of rigs != total oil production
