This morning my wife who lives in London called me. She was crying.
My girlfriend is not only an immigrant living there who now might have to fear deportation, she is also a strong progressive whose life revolves around the cosmopolitan, modern and exciting nature of London and now the British people have said that they don't want her or what her life is about. She usually goes out friday nights to dance at the African culture centre but this night she said she will just stay in and cry. And not only does she have to worry about herself, her Turkish boyfriend who had hoped for a way to stay there will now certainly be deported.
