/w4v/ - Daily Wait for Vega Thread - 2 Weeks Left

Hi all,

This is where we wait for the latest AMD graphics card which AMD will surely release in a timely manner and will definitely blow all of our minds, no questions asked, 100% guaranteed, no chance it'll fail, just you wait.

Last time: Do you own Vega FE? You can get VIP invites to Capsaicin and grill Raja for not sticking with 4 HBM stacks like FURY X. Sign up below:

>two weeks
They are "demoing" RX Vega tomorrow.

i have an i3-6100 3.7GHz, 2 cores 4 threads. will buying an rx vega be pointless? will the cpu bottleneck the performance?

Oh yeah, Budapest, so if you're around there, you know the drill from last time:
>If you're in Budapest or Portland, go take some videos and leak them here, then leak them to VideoCardz so they can then be leaked here too

I wish i could.
Anyway CLC one is nicely overprovisioned.
I wonder if they are going to demo it with TBR and primitve shaders enabled.
Because it's motherfucking time.

Cut down Vega for $350 pls Raja

Maybe Vega11 and maybe Q1 2018.

$299

By which time we'll also have GV102/GV104 right? Seriously AMD need to hurry the fuck up. I want to get into the adaptive sync meme but no way am I paying the G-Sync tax

>adaptive sync
>meme

update: i googled and tried this calculator with an nvidia 1080 and it says i will get 23% bottleneck. how bad is that?
even if it is bad i will need to upgrade my GPU anyway, and since rx 580s are overpriced as fuck (even after miners selling them back) i thought buying an rx vega would be a smart choice.

three products kind of imply that
water cooled variant probably will be 600-650 max
step lower 450-500
and 300-350

>i googled and tried this calculator
Dumb normalshits

Will Vega come in a blue edition?

it's going to be bad. I'd spend money on infrastructure first before GPU, or just get 560/1050ti for now

What should I do now?

Get a new GPU so it doesn't bottleneck your graphic card

get a third GPU, that surely will help

And then get a fourth.

certainly not in a green.

I think I saw some rendered images with a black/red scheme, but I don't think that they are official.

If you mean a water-cooled version, then probably yes, since it's basically the same die.

>wait for vega

Why did I believe... Why do they always have to disappoint me

>they
Who?

AMD whole R&D department

They have like two missteps being R600 and Bulldozer.

Yes, dual cores is absolutely a bottleneck, even 4 cores with no hyperthreading is a bottleneck in some games. 4core/8threads is the bare minimum if you want to play videojiames comfortably.

>even 4 cores with no hyperthreading is a bottleneck in some games.
>tfw I fell for the ''an i5 will be more than enough for ANYTHING for at least 5 years'' meme and got a 6500
I haven't felt so cucked before.

So was it confirmed that many of the features promised for Vega are currently disabled in the drivers? I'm talking about the tile based rasterization, culling, and some bandwidth stuff. I've heard that some of those features are not enabled and are why FE is doing do poorly in games and drawing so much power. Bullshit? Or master plan by AMD to have RX blow everything out of the water from left field?

Not master plan, more like "The drivers aren't finished/stable enough for release"

>Or master plan by AMD to have RX blow everything out of the water
will know tomorrow
they wouldn't make people sign NDA in Budapest? that would be crazy

They want another R300.

>currently disabled in the drivers?
And people were wondering why AMD would disable features, before throwing its card out to the public

Stability?
FE is marketed as prosumer card.

That's the price of an RX 580. No way you'll get Vega for that.

I think the cheapest Vega will be around $450 to $500, with their flagship probably being at least $650.

What graphics card do you have? And are you planning to upgrade it any time soon? You probably aren't that "cucked".

Literally the only reason it exists is to say they launched vega on schedule

The other shit isn't finished

It works as compute board.
You can even tinker with ROCm.
Though Maxwell was delayed two quarters, not two month and no one complained.

Honestly, I'm pretty close to just buying a 500 series. If they have the release date be early September I can manage, but got damn. Get your shit together, AMD.

It WILL be enough, even more so if directx and vulkan become mainstream. Having a beefier CPU only makes sense if you're playing above 60 fps. If you are not, then you're good to go. Don't listen to AMD shills misinfo who try to pretend that suddenly games need 23448902348923749238 cores to work. The vast majority doesn't even use 4 cores and most of the ones that do still only hammer the first thread.

>Get your shit together, AMD.
Maxwell was delayed two quarters and no one cared.
Shut the fuck up and wait.

directx 12*

The difference being nvidia wasn't eating amd's dust for a year and a half like AMD is.

Maybe AMD has some other revenue sources so they can give ~0 shits about halo offerings for some time while cooking new uarch?

Maxwell was never delayed

AYYMDPOORFAGS lying to cover for their dying, bankrupt company, beyond pathetic

>Maxwell was never delayed
Oh boy.
OH BOY.
Let's not do that.
