SYSTEMD

Which one is the best sustemd-free distro? Best as in working well right out of the box and fairly customizable?

Discuss your favourite Systemd-distros here.

Penny to a pound you don't even know what an init system IS let alone why you feel you need to replace it without repeating memes that you also don't even fucking know what they mean.

keep your subtle propaganda to

Why replace it?
Because initV style init scripts are horrible.
Ever had the chance to write some yourself?
That actually had feature parity with a 5 line unit file.

Devuan all the way senpai

Void of course

...

Devuan's better. Void repo is too lacking.

Does Devuan have their equivalent to Debian 9 now?

seconding void

what's it missing that you use? if it's just a couple things, you should submit them as packages

Manjaro

This sounds interesting, has anyone tested the Open RC version? What's it like?

Gentoo
Devuan
Arch with OpenRC

I haven't tried void yet

Never tried it, but Arch uses the same packages from MJ. Full AUR, fully supported, and not an obscure no name distro.

I run it now, desu you can do the same thing with arch and not have to watch dependencies so much. I'm just too lazy to switch.

Only issue with Arch-RC is the devs will tell you to go fuck yourself. because it's not supported.

I could see this being a problem on systems with lots of packages, but I just need programming, sound, and working video. At that point you can get away with a lot in any distro.

Devuan, hassle free, full of packages, and very very smooth.

I can tell you what is not.

No non-systemdicks systems are less customizable.

Systemd even offers systemd-delta so you can override whatever Garbo your maintainer ships in an intelligent way.

If you have a problem with the packages that replace systemd you can ask in the systemdfree comments section, devs there are not dead inside, at least not yet.

PCLinuxOS seems newbie friendly

Why don't we hear more about PCLinuxOS on Sup Forums with such a big community? Is the perfect replacement for many *buntus.

Slackware

fedora gnu+linux

It's shit.

Give more details.

The fuck you say, fuck memedora, is based on systemshit

>tfw under the watchful eye of the Systemd backdoor
Comfy af

Gentoo
Devuan
Slackware

everything else is shit

contains too much bloatware and shit upon installation, and also has bunch of proprietary drivers such is nvidia..

Oh, so is windrone friendly, nice

PCLinuxOS

Void
Gentoo
Devuan
Slackware
Source Mage
There's probably more I can't remember off the top of my head

PCLinuxOS. Easy like Mint, yet without systemd. Check it.

>Insulting DDR
>propaganda

How 'bout you go to instead bucko.

Void Linux.

It's Gentoo for people who don't have the time for Gentoo.

Everything else seems retardedly inadequate and unusable now.

Still no USE flags.

Interesting.

How is Devuan compared to Debian Jessie? what would I miss? or can I install software for Debian on it?

Is the current Trisquel system D free? I can't seem to find a clear answer online.

Is tails system D free?

Sometimes a poorly-chosen name is all you need to kill a project.
