Give me a converter to reverse mp4 files online so that they play backwards. No sketchy shit either.

How can i get a swipe keyboard (swype, gboard, swiftkey etc) on my desktop running windows? There are a lot of times I find myself reaching to my keyboard only to type one or two words, and I think it's an unnecessary effort.

I asked this in the /dpt/ thread already but they're currently discussing Islam.

Left side, with the blue brush = my painting program. The blue 1 was made in one stroke of blue color first. Then, the 2 was made with a second stroke that first goes through the blue 1 but then also goes through itself. It's easy for me to make the old color bluer since I know I haven't modified it yet with the current stroke. But how can I tell that I can modify the color made by the current stroke when I go over it again within the same stroke? Like how can I tell the difference when it's okay to make the color darker? Because as the brush moves, say, left to right, the leftmost part of the brush would try to paint over pixels that were already painted blue by the rightmost part of the brush.
And it gets even worse if the brush is say, two colored. Let's say the left half of the brush is green, the right half is red. Then, if I go left to right, the rightmost pixels will always be painted red, but it should be followed by an increasingly longer "tail" of green, if you know what I mean.

Right side is how it's done in MSPaint. As you can see, even in the top left example, if the yellow brush goes in one stroke through itself, the color gets slightly darker.

Am I missing some blatantly obvious solution here? How can I tell if the brush should paint over pixels that the brush just painted within the same stroke?

What exactly does a dock for a laptop do?
Is this just an alternative to using the power adapter or am I missing something?

i read three words of your post but check your transparancy

So I accidentally dumped over 200 GB of porn on this

Is it really unlimited as in unlimited or can I get banned for using too much?

They provide power, additional ports for peripherals, occasionally additional hardware, and, best of all, you can leave everything attached to the dock at the end of the day, then stroll off with just the laptop.

Best app/service for downloading music to my (android) phone? I'm fine with paying a few bucks. Preferably not a streaming service because I have parts of my commute without internet

Swype .com has a version for Windows on their site. If that doesn't work there's something called InScribe

Also, the upcoming Windows 10 Fall Update will include a Swype keyboard, so then there won't be any software needed

I just tried to remove the PPA source for Flux (Kilian/Flux or something like that), because I installed Redshift instead. Now when i run sudo apt-get update, I get this error(?) that i didn't have before.

What do?

NewPipie lets you easily download YouTube music for free.

You just need to download F-Droid and you can get it there.

Paid streaming services like Spotify and Deezer let you save music too, but in an encrypted format and from my experience those apps drain the battery extremely fast

what happen to callisto

whats a good anonymous throwaway email to make a youtube account with?

One of the two fans on my video card is dead...sorta. It only kicks in when the fan speed is set to 70% or more. This means my video card goes from silent to jet engine multiple times every minute, which is annoying as fuck. Can't afford a new card in this market, so I'm trying to figure a free way out to fix this.

I have a fan lying around. I was thinking of taking the bad one out, reapplying thermal paste, then strapping the case fan on with some zip ties over the space where the old one was. Only problem is the case fan is only 26.2 cfm. Do you think this would work?

exactly what is net neutrality?

a word that has since lost its original meaning in the background noise of competing views as to what, exactly, net neutrality actually is and is supposed to do
but when a concept like net neutrality relies on federal government control, that should scream a warning to you
the less federal control, the better, Americans should do better to stand up for their state rights

>net neutrality
>state right
oh boy

>authority of private business is better than authority of the state
wew

It means prohibiting ISPs from discriminating/prioritizing certain traffic. Without it they can block or change the speed of any traffic they want, which is pretty much pure suck for the end user and any websites that can't afford to shell out billions to keep up with the big boys. Especially bad for startups.

I don't know what you mean. The blue color is transparent in that picture (Alpha channel set to 125) and I check for each pixel in the brush that goes over a canvas pixel if it should paint the canvas pixel with a new color (if it hasn't been already painted by a previous pixel from the brush; otherwise I would keep re-painting what I already painted with the brush without going over it again). But then, how can I tell that when I go up and back again through the same stroke with the brush that "now" it's okay for the color to be re-painted with a bluer shade of blue since now the colors are allowed to interact?

Yes, when it's not taken to the extreme. Ever heard of moderation? A little bit of everything.
Also, laws > regulation. There is a difference.

but taking it to the extreme means extreme profit so they will always do it if they can?

I got a hand-me-down computer with a Noctua NH-U12S cooler in it, but it doesn't have a fan or fan clips. The only problem is on the Noctua website, all of the available fans for sale are 'NH' models. Am I just shit out of luck, and have to buy a whole new cooler?

Ignoring the bizarre half-and-half example you only need to paint with the leading edge of the brush.

What the hell did you do to remove it? Try sudo rm /var/lib/apt/lists/*

Taking something to the extreme isn't healthy for a company. See Intel, the last time they slapped EXTREME on something consumers ended up with a housefire.

There's nothing wrong with repealing net neutrality. Why are you so much worried over it, goys? It won't affect you, it's strictly between Google and other evil companies and ISPs.

>Noctua NH-U12S

You don't need a noctua fan, but you need the clips. Maybe you can zip tie in the meanwhile?

The myth of the rational actor in economics has been well and truly disproven. Game theory is a dead meme, get with the picture.

Any of noctua's square 120mm or 140mm fans can easily fit on it, and you have an NH to begin with.

i disagree and your example is about a product not about a business strategy

anybody?

need answer

I should probably just go with a square 120mm one, then.
The only other fan I had was a Cooler Master one, but it was pretty small.

Businesses are 98% opportunistic greed and 2% the expectation that appearing altruistic will help them somehow in the future. I'm not saying you won't get the odd well intended owner, but left unattended the business sector will absolutely bleed us for everything we're worth. There's more proof of this than practically anything in human history.

Yeah, even if you get the clips it has to be the same size or they won't fit.

>but left unattended the business sector will absolutely bleed us for everything we're worth
That's what laws are for. Net neutrality isn't a law.

>What the hell did you do to remove it?
I just removed the one thing.
But I'm thinking that the warnings i'm getting now might have been "suppressed" by that package somehow. Because that Flux package was giving me some error, which is part of the reason I uninstalled it. So now that it's gone, that's probably why i get these warnings instead.
>Try sudo rm /var/lib/apt/lists/*
What does this do? Isn't it bad if i delete all package lists?

On their website, it says the 120mm size fan (that i'm looking at) has a 105x105 mm mounting hole spacing. Is that big enough to fit on the NH-U12S, or should I go with a bigger one?

Well the holes are offset from the edges a bit obviously. The fan that comes with it is 120mm, so you want a 120mm fan. Not sure if the hole spacing is standardized or whatnot. Why not just get the noctua fan? I know they're pricy but they are great fans, and very quiet while still pushing a lot of air.

Does the radeon driver for Ubuntu support dual monitors? I've tried everything to get both of my monitors (external and the laptop's screen) to work but either the laptop screen shuts off or both of them shut off
Would a clean reinstall help? I upgraded the system from 15.10 to 16.04

The lists get downloaded fresh when you do an update.

Sorry if I didn't make it clear. I am looking at one of the Noctua fans. The NH-U12S says it's compatible with 120x120x25 size fans, and the one i'm looking at (NF-S12A PWM) is a 120x120x25. I just want to make sure before I buy anything that it'd be one that'll fit on my model.

noctua.at/en/nh-u12s.html

On the specs page, it comes with a NF-F12 PWM.

noctua.at/en/nf-f12-pwm/specification
noctua.at/en/nf-s12a-pwm/specification

Hole spacing is same on both, and both are 4-pin PWM so I think they'll both fit. The nf-s12a looks better though, pushes more air at lower rpm.

Ah, that's what I was looking for. I couldn't find the fan that was included on it. Thanks for helping!

Just use Gmail... if you set your country to an African one you don't need a phone.

google? with youtube? are you mad?

Since I'm a poorfag and my monitors DC in jack is loose/my DC plug is faulty, would it be a good idea to use solder as a filling to bridge the connection between the two (like a cavity filling?)? Or would this burn my house down?

What's the problem?

Would having dropbox set to my small SSD shorten its lifespan?

That's what solder is made for. If you are worried about it handling mains voltage, it won't get hot because it has very low resistance. Have fun trying to heat all that metal without melting the surrounding plastic though.

Crap... Totally forgot about the plastic. Guess I'll save it for a last resort. Thanks user.

Dear /sqt/.

I know it will sound stupid and all but - is browsing "red" sites like redtube or xhamster even safe? Several years ago simply accessing websites with porn content would mean automatical flood of malware. Did it change?

Hasn't changed at all. You only need to look at all the scripts or 3rd parties blocked to realize it's all still the same garbage since the xxx porn days.

YouTube-dl supports many porn sites if you wanna get the via while browsing with ad blocking and no script etc

If I buy a Sup Forums pass, does that make me able to shitpost in a dorm without getting banned because of someone else's wrongdoing?

Obviously yes. Anything that writes to your SSD shortens your lifespan. You want to keep only stuff that almost never gets updated but is accessed regularly on your SSD.

But does it cover links from metasearch engines like yellingtoilet?

What is a good modem AND router for multi-computer gaming?

I'm moving into an apartment with my brother as we both just graduated and by are on steam constantly gaming after work.

What is a good router and Modem that accommodate 2 PC users, one being line in and the other being over wifi (900 sq ft and 2 rooms on opposite ends so one of us has to be over the router)

I'm trying to keep it under $250 if I can.

Trying to install Gentoo on a virtual box and it's not letting me install GRUB2 for some inane reason.

Any help?

Efi directory and boot directory are different things. You are inane!

I tried both and neither work.
What do?

man i had 4 google acc just to keep some old normie backups like photos, docs etc on google drive and after year or something i noticed that files just start to disapear. and there was no porn or something just normal files. fuck google really.

You need to point boot directory to /boot and efi directory to your efi firmware directory. Probably /boot/EFI but I don't know. It says this in the man

My hard drive sounds like it's about to have a fucking aneurysm, I can hear this shit upstairs, and I finally ordered a new one lest it suddenly die on me. Do I just plug my new drive in, use Reflect or other cloning software to clone my old drive to my new one, unplug the loud as fuck one and boot Windows from the new one and Bob's my uncle? Or will I have to install Windows all over again on the new drive? I just want clarification before I fuck something that should be simple up royally.

I know some basic programming stuff from a class I took but otherwise I know crap
I want to make something that will help boost my programming skills in 2 months, what do I do? what language? I just really don't know where to start. I'm a huge weeb if that helps

I don't know if I did something a long time ago that's doomed my PC and I'm just finding out about it, or Windows just does this shit
Whenever I try to open certain folders or this fucking Z: drive that randomly appears in the file manager, it says access has been disabled or something similar. Can't open Application Data, which is a shortcut for some reason, but I can open AppData.
Any reason for this or way around it?

Also, only user on the computer.

They are just ghost volumes, don't worry about it. Old systems tend to get haunted.

I wanna doubt you, but it sounds just absurd enough to be something that would happen.

double check handbook wiki article Using UEFI, especially fstype. It should be formatted in fat

Do other parts than batteries wear out significantly in UPSs? I found a used one for a pretty good price, but it looks a little beat-up.

Windows is so shit the dead rise to haunt it out of spite, call Gentoo Busters

I did format it into fat.

Picrelated is highly unnecessary. Your modem will depend on your ISP. Your router could be any decent brand like netgear or linksys that has a/b/g/n. AC optional. I'd really consider running a long ethernet cable to the second pc, or taking a stab at powerline adaptors. If your wiring is good, they can be about 2/3 as good as ethernet.

So up until recently, my dad has given me one of his extra Kaspersky key for whatever bundle he purchases and that's what I've used for years. Now it's expired and I have no antivirus software. Is there anything free I should get or is antivirus just a meme for the less tech savvy?

Is it possible to replace the KDE compositor with something else?

KWin is being a jackass. Even compiz works fine.

Keepass or keepassx and why?

If I pirate Adobe software, is it safe to use it while connected to the internet?

Has happened before. Inserted an old dvd once that duplicated the contents of a previous dvd that was used, but when contents are clicked nothing happens or explorer freezes.

any good temp phone numbers that youtube will take?

Safe? What are you worried about, the feds knocking down your door? Pop ups calling you bad names? Using outdated versions of software most commonly used for exploits?

I mean will the software attempt to perform some online check-in, realize it's pirated, and stop working.

Hey, so I want to back up my entire OS drive (Win 7) to a folder on an external drive I have so that I can root through the files as I need to fetch whatever from it while formatting and setting up either Windows 7 or some form of Linux (haven't decided yet, might dualboot). It's only 120gb of data. Previously when I tried this many hard drives ago, I ran into permissions errors even after trying to set them to all access, but I think I may have just done something wrong. What do?

If you look for the proper ways of pirating that shit they may give you instructions on what to block to prevent this anyways.

any DBA/ aspiring DBA in here? When is it better to use supertype vs seperate entities?

for example:
artwork: title, description, type
animation: title, description, length

vs.
content: title, description
-> artwork: type
-> animation: length

is there a notable performance difference or anything?

You use cloning software.

>but I think I may have just done something wrong
If you're trying to copy windows system files while the windows system is running you're going to run into trouble. You'll have to boot up using a live OS off USB or CD and use that to copy over everything from the hard drive onto another one.

> rooting through files
Disgusting

>I think I may have just done something wrong, wat do
Hide the evidence and fabricate an alibi

running win 10
my pc will occasionally lag like crazy, usually when under a heavy load though, like starting a game. when i open task manager to see what the issue is, its always System taking up all my disk space. As soon as i open task manager though, it usually "fixes" itself, that process stops fucking my shit up, and everything runs fine again. ive run multiple scans with multiple programs so i doubt its anything malicious, pretty sure its just because win 10 is shit. I dont remember the name of it, but i have that idle disk defrag setting enabled, could that be my issue?

Should I enable or disable upnp in my router?

Disable real-time protection

if you don't understand the need for it, you don't need it enabled

I'll take a look into both of these, thank you!

The point of this is to get more organized. I spent a lot of time on this particular Windows install tweaking and finding out what software I liked and didn't like, and it's starting to get bogged down a bit. I figure a fresh install is healthy, but I also have quite a lot of files/etc. that I might need to grab and I don't wanna take any chances with forgetting to back something up.

disabled it over a year ago, even disabled it in the group policies too

Even when I play online? Only asking because it apparently is more of a sucurity threat than anything.

I'd like to build a security-conscious media server, meaning nothing with Intel ME or any other variants. Are there single board computers that support 10-bit decoding, or will I be building a small pc? What kind of processors would be ideal for this kind of situation? Also I'd really like to be able to shitpost on it as well, so enough power to run a single instance of firefox would also be ideal.

Go to task scheduler and list all running tasks and tasks that are scheduled to fire up that haven't yet. Post screencap for NSA purposes. Don't worry, it's for benign reasons.

i use my laptop connected to my tv but often have nothing playing on my tv
are there any places that specialise in like videos of nice things to have on in the background (ive been using a video of ocean creatures i got off youtube up until now) that you can download for free (preferably in hd too)
thanks
