Ryzen Discussion Thread

This is a general thread around Ryzen.

Owners of Ryzen systems, please post your

Processor
Motherboard
Ram

Indicate these combinations and state your stable processor overclock and the speed at which you run your memory. This is important information as Ryzen runs better with higher memory clocks.

I currently own a Ryzen 7 1700X and am looking for a suitable motherboard and RAM to ideally reach 3200Mhz, or close to.

Intel is finished lads. I've fallen for the Ryzen meme.

here's a protip for reaching 3200+ ram clocks:
1. ANY samsung B-die RAM
2. ANY B350 or X370 board

that's all folks

I have a 1700X with an ASUS Prime X370-Pro, corsair vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8) 3600mhz kit running at 3200mhz.

Check for QVL/HCLs per-board, but these are samsung b-die dimms so they should be solid

Side note, most corsair sticks are NOT samsung b-die, only the very high speed dimms, the rest are typically hynix

MSI Sli Plus
Flare X 3200 CL14

After the latest agesa you can hit 3200 on almost any kit who was tested for 3200,even OC the memory

Fucking ryzen fuck. Tried to buy 1600x from italian Amazon. They upped the weeks delivery ETA to a month. Had to cancel and probably gonna buy memelake instead.

Where is a reliable list of Samsung DRAM chips? I found one but it was incomplete.

mamma mia who could be behindo thise?

Did you try these faggots?

nexths.it/v3/list.php?query=Ryzen&x=0&y=0

search for the memory you want
get the product ID
go on producer's Qvl
search for the product ID, it should tell you whether it is b-die,if it runs at the specific speed etc

I've heard Hynix memory is the one with issues.

Is this still the case? I've seen the 1.0.0.6 update, but I'm still not sure.

I know the memory I'm looking at is Hynix 3200MHz 16C.

RYEZEN IS A MEME

REAL MEN BUY INTEL BECAUSE REAL MEN CAN AFFORD INTEL

i paid a premium price for the flare X because i didn't really wanted to deal with it.On june 13th when i set up the system(before agesa 1006) it worked out-of-the-box.

I'm pretty sure agesa 1006 fixed a lot of memory kits at 3200Mhz, including corsair, g skill RGB and other which were hynix.

Just be sure and search through the QVL lists

Mine runs 3.7GHz at stock voltages. Just try it.

Really good vid on OCing from AMD themselves.

I'm running my CPU at bone stock settings. Honestly no reason to fuck with it. Even with Asus's standard of boosting to 1.35/1.4v randomly (as all their ROG boards do), my CPU never goes beyond 58C, and I encode 4k/1080p video for literal days/weeks on end sometimes. I'm only using a single tower, single fan cooler as well.

i want to do a Ryzen build to replace my ancient living room PC. already have a good 280X to throw in it.

what's the cheapest Ryzen CPU I can go with for respectable 1080p gaming?

What cooler should I get for my 1800x that will fit in my ncase m1?

Putting this on the filter.

>ncase m1

Corsair H110i, not the v2 or GTX version or whatever. It's a big ol' 280mm radiator so bottom-mount it as intake. It also doesn't need the additional AM4 bracket to mount it. It's what I've got on my 1800X and it runs great. I think NZXT has one that's pretty much identical too which I've also heard is great.

I'd say even an r3 would keep pace with that 280x.

Actually disregard this - the case has a 240mm on the bottom, not 280. Don't use the H110i. My bad.

But my graphics card is 2 slots, will it still fit?

I have yet to find 64GB ram that is fast and for sure compatible. And Flare X seems to not have their 16GBx4 3200 out yet.
The rest of the system sans cooler is done and waiting assembly.

Currently you are out of luck if you need 4 DIMMs. 2667-2933 is pretty much the max. Need a 2-DIMM setup for 2933+

Anyone here with the gigabyte ax370 k3/5/7? I plan on buying the k3 board as I have no use for the extra pcie slot/audio features. though I noticed the k7 supports up to 3600mhz ram. Is it worth getting the k7 for this?

Are there any guides on overclocking the Corsair LPX sticks to 3200mhz? Most I can get is 3033 and that's not even stable, I was hoping the AGESA update would help but it really doesn't.

Is there a configuration guide for tweaking it?

Team Group T-Force Vulcan 2400mhz ram @ 2666mhz

Perfectly stable and runs great on everything I do. Just need to get a new GPU since I am still running my r9 290x.

Same here. I gave up and let it sit at 2993. Mobo is b350 tomahawk

I checked
reddit
and it seems like nobody can get 3200mhz on those sticks. Which contradicts ASUS's documentation on my board which states it could run at 18cl and AMD's reports that they got it working within their lab.

We might have to just continue waiting... again. If it's not fixed by the next update I'll just have to accept running 2933mhz until my next rig upgrade.

This is the corsair LPX 3200 16c right?

CMK16GX4M2B3200?

This is the one I was considering getting, I've read people manage 3200Mhz on Tomahawk and something else from reading reviews.

Maybe these retards are jumping the gun and making a review before thoroughly testing it.

I got you covered user :
overclock.net/t/1627555/ryzen-memory-ic-collection-thread

Also, AMD's QVL :
amd.com/system/files/2017-06/am4-motherboard-memory-support-list-en_0.pdf

Samsung B-dies tend to have tight timing 14-14-14-.. or 16-16-16.
Take the stick you're interested in and check it on the overclock.net link
Then check it on AMD QVL and then check it on your mobo manuf's website.

Then, you should be good to go.
Happy building

Kek

tight settings playa

Yeah, it is. Buy G.Skill and make extra sure it's a Samsung die. When I bought my RAM, nobody was reaching 3200mhz so I assumed it was completely related to software. That doesn't seem to be the case.

This was all basically out of the box with minimal tweaking. Still need to do some work on the ram and also see if I can push 4ghz+ before temps explode.

This is the case for all on-die TPMs.
Intel/ARM/AMD and whoever else.

AMD names their TPM
>PSP = Platform Security Processor
Intel names their TPM
>Intel ME
ARM's TPM
>Trustzone (in just about every ARM processor phone)

TPMs have legitimate and powerful uses. No one is going to release their code. The TPM manufacturers wont even release dev documents. You need to sign NDAs and usage is strictly monitored.

You really should be castrated for the good of the gene pool.
There is no way your laptop CPU has better single core than a desktop AMD Ryzen. There is obviously some other issue going on here. Not even an i7-7700HQ beats it.

At least my VRMs won't burn down and I'll keep my socket for two more generations.

There's two on this game and Intel isn't performing stellar on this generation either, faggot.

I have the same MB and here's the Corsair RAM I'm using CMK16GX4M2B3200C16

I noticed when I got it to clock to 3200Mhz my CPU's temp went up about 5C and is now stable at 40C (OC to 4.025Ghz @ 1.40V)

I did. Are you making sure that you're multiplying the DRAM freq by 2?

>desktop AMD Ryzen
I never said it was a Ryzen. It was an 8320.

Stop crying.
You know ryzen is just a inferior product for poor ppl. It's okay some ppl have less money and so use inferior products.

Nah but I have a Noctua NH-DS15S and a 1600x. I'm stable at 40C, stressed to 65C

It was stable at 35C before I got my 3200Mhz RAM to clock at that speed....

A botnet is a botnet. Intel's ME/AMT can hijack your PC completely invisible from the OS as well.

You also didn't respond to yet. Go on faggot, you've started it.

It would still be an upgrade.

You've got your tinfoil hat on so tight, it's constricting the bloodflow to your brain.

Yes but would it be worth getting all new Ram and Motherboard along with a new CPU?

>Intel's ME/AMT can hijack your PC completely invisible from the OS as well
Did I claim otherwise? I really do not think so.
I was under the impression that this was an AMD thread, not an intel thread. I can't see why should I be forced to talk about ME when criticizing PSP on an AMD thread.

Considering your lack of basic brain functionality you are probably not a paid shill, you instead shill because you lack the necessary intelligence to do otherwise.

>You also didn't respond to yet
Why should I? He did not reply to me nor can I see how his post is relevant to anything that I talked about.
