Brave Browser

Time to throw away the old Firefox.

So I'm looking at either Brave or Vivaldi

Which one to pick? Are both open source?

I don't need fancy extensions, just a good ad blocker

Thanks

I just used my search engine and found answers to couple of your questions and they are pretty interesting.

vivaldi isnt opensource
brave is barely chromium with ublock

vivaldi.com/source/
oops it's indeed open source

>Palemoon + ABPrime
Everything else is firefox/chrome placebos

Thanks. Gonna check it out.

Palemoon + adaware

BOTNET BOTNET

EVERYTHING IS BOTNET

Reminder that Brave is literally adware

It just replaces ads with its own (((acceptable ads))) and steals the revenue from publishers

people say brave has C++ adblocker, and is therefore faster.

fact or fiction?

This

It's proprietary freeware. Just because they give out the source for free doesn't mean they give permission to modify it. It also doesn't mean they will accept whatever patches you make, either.

Ads are blocked by default. You have to manually go into the settings and turn this on

If youre gonna use botnet, why not just use chrome? It performs better and does more anyway. If you use brave, you're literally just trying to be unique

Use Opera like a man

Default behavior is to block everything.

Opera is Chink controlled

You have to literally turn it on yourself. It blocks everything by default.

Brave is better if you care about privacy/security

>Are both open source?

Also fuck faggots like you who ask questions that can easily be googled in less than 5 seconds.

he's one of brendan eich's paid shills. brave is pretty much a major flop and needs constant shilling to keep the illusion of success intact

>Anyone who disagrees with me is a shill.

Are you mad that Brave is going to put an end to the cancerous practices of publishers/advertisers?

Your (((tracking pixels))) have their days counted

We all know who is the real jew here. After all, Brave is going against jewish interests.

I felt that stupid feminist donation thing was the last straw. I knew it has been SJW Fox for a long time but I just ignored it.

I decided to go with Pale Meme. I didn't rice my firefox at all, and PM is basically Firefox without Firefox. Comfy community, kind of feels like Firefox from a few years ago.

get brave vivaldi is chinese garbage try slepenir aswell

That still won't change the fact that very few uses Brave as their default browser. A turd is still a turd, no matter the pricetag.

>slepenir
sell me on slepenir

its open sourced browser made in japan, based some what on chromium. Try a swing at it and see if you like it i like it myself.

>it's japanese
>it's weabo approved
>kickass font support
>it can switch between 3 different web -render engines

Why trust the japs?

dont know i just want a light weight chromium browser, i looked around for it and i found it

Switched to Opera, used every fcking browser
>its the best

opera is just chrome with a different skin

chinese controlled now not worth it

CHINK LOVER

But no one really minds ads as a concept, they hate intrusive ads like autoplay videos, popups and those annoying ransomware pages that are difficult to click out of like the fake blue screens. I bet most people installed Adblock for the first time solely because of Youtube.

Brave is nice but unfortunately, if you look at the developer's list, you'll see it has been infiltrated by CCP agents.
I'd use Iridium.

CCP? Child Pr0n? teehee :3

Brenden thinks he is going to become a instant Trillionaire (yes, with a T, Google makes $100B a year from advertising) by channeling all ads though his browser.

Brenden is half jewish, isnt he?

>hey kids! dont worry, it just has ad blocking on by default! just let us handle what ads you see!

sauce

>2. You will immediately cease and not continue to access the site if you are under the age of 18.

Seriously this is OP here, what is the CCP? Jewgle is not returning anythign

>ABPrime
why would I use that when ublock origin works perfectly fine with palememe

Is that it? two baseless speculations and insinuations about Eich?

>Brenden is half jewish, isnt he?

Maybe you could enlighten me, Wikipedia doesn't mention anything.

Can you get Sup Forums X on Brave? That's really the only extension I use on Chrome currently besides Epmty New Tab and Ublock. (Thank you Brave for adding the blank tab page back, I couldn't believe it when Google took that option away.

Brave is an Electron project iirc.

You're basically running a local website document rendering other websites within it, experiencing inferior performance compared to just running native a Chromium browser and getting no benefits outside of the illusion you're using a different browser.

>hey kids! dont worry, it just has ad blocking on by default! just let us handle what ads you see!
Do you understand what blocking means? I can get a dictionary link if you need it.

brave.com/about.html

Chinese Communist Party.

There are definitely some Jews on his team if you look at the about page.

What available browser uses the least resources?
Firefox and Chrome take up a fuckton of memory and processing power. Vivaldi is clunky shit on top of chrome's problems. I shouldn't need more than 16gb of ram to use the fucking internet.

Isn't it just fucking Jews putting in their own ads and replacing the "bad ads"

Go for Brave. They're about to release a huge update.

So does Brave have any sponsored ads yet? been browsing with "Brave ads only" on but haven't seen anything other than the typical pornsite ads that fly under the radar.

Which is.....

I have hope for Otter.
otter-browser.org/

I finally decided to try Pale Moon and I'm pretty impressed. Best Firefox fork hands down. Just fucking try it at least.

>t. S H I L L S H I L L S H I L L S H I L L

>all chinese people are ccp members
how do you survive while being so retarded

Someone explain this to me, you can pay money to keep the websites you like up instead of seeing ads? I think I'd prefer the ads. I don't mind a few ads in exchange for using a website for free. I don't really see what the big deal is. I might give this browser a shot with the ad block turned off just because I hate Google and I feel like a sap using their browser.

>le Jewish boogyman

...

>abprime is bootstrapped, ublock is not
>(as far as i know)

It's still a worse deal for publishers, isn't it?

if your product/service was actually good, you could put up a paywall and people would still pay for it.

advertising is just life support for bad content that can't survive on it's own

So? Source availability alleviates security concerns.

That's the thing. There's a lot of stuff I don't like enough to pay for, but I enjoy enough to access with ads. I couldn't afford to pay for everything I like if it were behind a paywall. And what about the people who make a living off YouTube ad money? Will they actually get anything from this?

>ad blocking guy is literally a black person
>"blocking ads is theft"

My guess would be that people who publish garbage (click-bait sites all that stuff) will be the ones who get a worse deal compared to what they have now. But other sites that publish quality stuff would get more support.

>stuff I don't like enough to pay for
then find something better & evolve, instead of settling with cheap, poorly produced crap.

>people who make a living off YouTube ad money?
get a real job or a better solution. yt is a video hosting site and not obliged to give you money for making top-10-sexy-unboxing-prank videos

Just use waterfox, which is just firefox without the botnet and with add on support

>yt is a video hosting site and not obliged to give you money for making top-10-sexy-unboxing-prank videos
I know. And I know most of it is garbage, but there's stuff I like, and I want those guys to be able to make a living doing their thing.

Vivaldi and Opera has been the only good combo for a while now.

Brave is ONLY relevant on Android.

>donate to their patreon/paypal/kickstarer
>buy them stuff from their amazon lists
>contribute your own skills/expertise
>buy products from their cafepress/webshop
>leave a appreciative comment or message
>share their content on social media
>encourage others to do the same

>Just because they give out the source for free doesn't mean they give permission to modify it
Still means OPEN SOURCE. Go shill somewhere else, commie

I was fine with Waterfox, especially with all the Firefox bugs likely related to High Sierra beta, until I couldn't take the glitch where when i get out of fullscreen for like a YT video, the tab/video title remains floating on top of the other tabs and looks like shit. It keeps happening and i couldn't handle it so i'm trying Pale meme and it surprisingly is very decent.

Waterfox was rendered pointless the moment mozilla started to release their own, official 64bit builds.

plus the fact that waterfox's so called "modifications" are actually just common tweaks to can do yourself on firefox.

waterfox was a good niche browser, but has been long surpassed and offers no genuine advantage or feature that firefox doesn't have. unless you count placebo as a feature.
>it just feels faster on my rig, user

>get fired by sjw
>decide to make a browser with the most SJW name ever

Idk something is fishy

they all chrome clones man vivaldi is chinese shit like opera

...still, good on the back end.

>vivaldi
You can't even move around tabs and text is blurry, how is this the answer?

It's time to install Brave.

where's Brave market share statistics? i mean, if Brave is such a big success, there are of course numbers to back it up...

washingtontimes.com/news/2017/jul/11/beijing-networks-us-maneuver-25000-spies/

>Thank god, they didn't fire their most competent people over stupid political rea-

>hurr durr its oben source its good
open source is not free.

>bravery is SJW
How warped is your concept of bravery for you to believe this?

>brave
i think he's giving fags the middle finger

Brave is a bad browser for several reasons
>no user base, or statistics to prove otherwise
>it's killer feature is a common browser plugin
>it's just chromium, but with a different look
>ti's designed with advertisers, not users, in mind

>>no user base, or statistics to prove otherwise

I hear it's quite popular on mobiles.

Not quite.

ABPrime ISN'T bootstrapped, that's literally the point of it. The author threw a shitfit when people preferred ABL because it's bootstrapped.

And yes, uBlock is bootstrapped.

Why not Iridium? It's open source.

qutebrowser

Brave is FOTM, It's like the people who make these threads are always newfags. Or maybe I'm always being epicly baited

holy shit , just installed brave , it got 9 processes WTF .
seamonkey only 1 .
fuck this shit . i dont understand.

I like Iridium and I'll probably pick it but isn't Brave also Foss?

Don't know about the adblocker but it's definitely faster.

Don't think Brave has support for extensions besides it's pre-installed ones.
