Are there any desktop Sup Forums clients?

Are there any desktop Sup Forums clients?
Could you just read the API? Is that how Sup Forums apps do it?
Would you be interested in such a thing?

Other urls found in this thread:

github.com/talisein/Horizon
github.com/qqueue/ANSICHAN
twitter.com/SFWRedditVideos

Why don't you create one using electron and coffee script or whatever they call it ? If it has cool features better or equal to 4chanx those of us with powerful computers here (30% of users) can use it.

>Are there any desktop Sup Forums clients?
There's a few on Github like github.com/talisein/Horizon

>Could you just read the API? Is that how Sup Forums apps do it?
Yes for getting posts, catalogue, index pages, etc. the API is used. For posting though it's really hacky (see clover) as the API doesn't support it.

>All images are downloaded to disk (~/.local/share/horizon, or your equivalent XDG location). Browsing Sup Forums for a week has consumed 1G of space.
hmm
How does Clover do posting? Is it the captcha that makes it hacky?

>Would you be interested in such a thing?

Yes. I would love one for osx with vertical tabs and Sup Forums-x.

Was actually thinking of writing one in Swift and starting simple then adding "power user" features as they come up.

That would be cool.

Vaccine is pretty good. Only one I've tried though, so don't know how it compares to others mentioned.

...

Doesn't seem to allow posting which is a deal breaker.
What's this?

Looks to be a Thinkpad running an Android emulator running a Sup Forums app.

What movie is that?

x60 with android 7.1 on board with clover
Not an emulatot

Does clover render latex on /sci/?

nope?
from >>/sci/9039057

you need 3 meme arrows user

Kure-nai

Where is that gif from?

I'd like that too, would also be glad to help out if it was open source.

bump

What is point

this
Sup Forums works well on a browser, there is no point creating another walled garden

Why is this so hot

It'd be more performant and could have Sup Forums focused features instead of using a browser extension. How is that a walled garden?

Would Webm playback be issue?

a mistake

Jesus H. Christ. Go Fucking wall yourself in a garden you grade A retardotron.

>posting on Sup Forums
whats your fucking problem

How is it a walled garden???

>Not an argument

little girl

Yeah sure, good idea to create a """app""" for only one website, why not create one for each website you go to? Sound like a good idea right?
web shits stay on web browsers, period.

If web techs were designed for efficiency and performance, why not.
But we're at the exact opposite atm.
Don't bother bringing web techs outside a browser.

>If web techs were designed for efficiency and performance, why not.
What? It's just a read only api that returns json.
Clearly you can render this and more threads using less memory running a native app tailored for it.
>"""app"""
Why the quotes?

Natively yes, AVKit does not support WebM. Could use some other playback engine though (libmpv?)

OwO what's this?

>Clearly you can render this and more threads using less memory running a native app tailored for it.
Yes you can, but you won't because using a garbage js framework is easier and no one will do it anyway.

The point of the thread is to do that. It's not like it's that hard.

I don't have any hopes in Sup Forums-driven projects.

It sounds really promising but, last commit was 2012

I'll be mainly making it for myself, just wanted to see what was out there.

>those of us with powerful computers here (30% of users) can use it.
Electron isn't actually that bad, as long as you don't bloat everything with a shitton of javascript. And it actually makes some sense to include a browser engine when part of your application is displaying a webpage.

I have no problem running Chrome, Spotify (chrome-based), VS Code (Electron), and my own Electron app all at the same time on a shitty macbook air.

What's your app?

A streaming app that scrapes stuff from solarmovie

>one for each website you go to

But this is the only website I go to.

ansichan github.com/qqueue/ANSICHAN

If used them as much as Sup Forums sure.

>read only UTF-8
I guess it could be useful at work.
