The beauty of android is its customizability. You can make the homescreen and system apps look like almost anyway you want them to.
The problem arises, when we get into third party stuff, which just blindly follow material guidlines without thinking through whether or not adding a hamburger menu is necessary.

I used to appreciate this. Plowing through the play store, looking for the good stuff. But it just doesn't motivate anymore, which is why I switched to iOS. The 'it just works' mentality really isn't all to bad if you just want a good smartphone experience.

Only downside I see in jailbreaking is battery life if you run a lot of tweaks. Otherwise, as you have a 4s, you don't need to worry about the warranty thing. It's pretty comfy as you see
