The best NSA bot out-of-the-box!
SystemD fully compatible!
Just works!
I'm installing Fedora because everything else is shit. Ubuntu will eventually become polished once they get off their asses over there. Until then, I will be using Fedora 26 once the ISO finishes downloading.
Privacy or a career? One is more vital.
Privacy isn't possible without shitty software and hardware. The world isn't near progress in that area enough without being considered a handicap. I cared until I realized I was disrupting my work.
Fedora Gnome? Or other DE?
GNOME is the best DE available for Linux.
I'm comfy with Manjaro. I probably would switch to Fedora though
Fedora 26 is the best distribution of all other Linux distributions I have ever used.
Linus Torvalds uses Fedora. Therefore I use Fedora.
Against:
Built on the Linux kernel, a lackluster compilation of half-assed projects provided by weekend programmers.
>Doesn't know Red Hat is a billion dollar company comprised of paid employees.
>Doesn't realize 75% of Linux code is by compensated individuals.
You have misconceptions.
I was a Fedora shill until it borked my encrypted system. Twice. On f24. btw.
How'd you manage that? Been using an encrypted setup since f20 with no issues.
Ubuntu is literally higher quality.
I use it. It's not for ricer children though. It's for people who want to get real work done using as much free software as possible.
Don't listen to Gnome is the worst DE. Use XFCE, MATE, or Enlightenment.
I'm using Fedora and my partition is encrypted with LUKS. I've had zero problems besides the GUI to enter the encryption password not coming up sometimes, so it just falls back to text mode but all of the functionality is still there. That's the worst problem I've had with Fedora in nearly a year of using it and it's just cosmetic.
Gnome has very poor performance on all the hardware I tried. With Wayland it even stutters the cursor when doing something intensive like opening Activities.
>install fedora kde
>everything just werks
Best out of the box GNOME. Good support, not as good as Debian-based but better than everything else. Is completely free, except for the kernel. Probably has the best hardware support out there due to always shipping with new kernels.
I like it. Wish it had a LTS release like Ubuntu.
The lts version is centos
>reasons against
its name
Outside of getting the WiFi to work it was a piss easy install and works with relatively short work when I put it on a laptop I got for free
fuck off niggers
that's a funny way to spell MATE
Mate makes me want to kill an endangered animal.
systemd will be replaced soon by Linus
Source?
they appear to be the fastest major distro to push new linux versions so it makes sense for him but not for you
>hurr durr
>why doesn't this bleeding edge work perfectly
>as the best hardware support out there due to always shipping with new kernels.

You have to add rpm-fusion to your system in order to use some software like mpv, ffmpeg etc.
Do you have a mental disorder? SELinux has been vetted by the Free Software community and no intentional backdoors have been found. In fact, it has been quite the opposite since SELinux has mitigated countless 0days in Linux software.
But I'm sure your Gentoo install with no MAC, ASLR, or compiler hardening flags is a lot more NSA-proof.
Gnome works a bit better than in Debian, XFCE is the same. Few packages are unavailable on Fedora, but nowadays it's minimal.
>Reasons for
just werks, maintaned by profesionals getting paid for their work
>and against installing fedora
freetard memes stop it from being the best linux distro, sometimes you need propietary stuff.
Hurr bleeding edge GTK3 and GNOME. Just fuck my screen up with ugly buggy mega sized toolbars and widgets.
I cant even understand why the retards did this.
>every major Distros accepted systemd
>Distros matter
What is Fedora's endgame with pushing newer kernels faster than other distros?
... literally the only reason I don't.
...
tips too easily
install korora instead
It's not arch linux
It's not openPEPE. Do you want to make based Lunduke cry?
Australia is gimping encryption so you'd have to be beyond retarded to download an Australian distro.
>kangaroo linux
Blue penguin Linux you fucking Mongoloid
Well it's close to RH, and if you do any Sys* work professionally you'll run into it at least once. It's also not based on Debian/apt, which is a plus.
Regressions for days though, and good luck using it with binary GPU drivers.
>binary GPU drivers.
so use fedora only if you go full freetard?
>source: my ass
Unless you have proofs SELinux was vetted by right people and nothing suspiciuos was found, otherwise fuck off NSA.
You really think you can hide from the nsa? At this point just hope they dont care because you're not getting around them no matter what you do.
>hey man, they still can get to you, there's no point resisting, just give up
Fuck off, NSA.
Mate just post proof
As for preventing zero days you should not made that claim.
SELinux has prevent AAA issues but it just means it makes exploits more tricky.
Sure if by 0days you mean the tools found in kali, i would agree with that.
which KGB bot should we install, oh comrade? Kaspersky or IntelliJ?
As a programmer and theoretical dickhead I would say that the NSA is a cover for something bigger.
I work in security applied applications and by far you only need a few skilled hackers and a motive.
Any software I make I tend to use practices that is not in the book of best practices. I tend to prevent a small targeted attack by using methods that are agreed on internally.
If the NSA body did want to find exploits in our software it would be a matter on time.
You will be retarded to think that just because you're using SELinux or simply Linux that automatically means you are protected from anyone who is a skilled exploit engineer, god forbid if the NSA wanted you.
Just for the record, the NSA does not own hackers they simpl contract them.
Common fucking sense would imply that not using a "botnet" means fucking nothing.
You will use some technology that you don't personally own. Ignorance is bliss
ignore this buttmad Russian troll
he's just mad that the NSA is looking out for Western interests and helping to secure a widely used commercial distro
>Western interests
>being this willing to sacrifice other people to muh team score
No one said that by using Linux I am 100% secure.
No one said NSA can't do track whoever they want.
But giving up your right to privacy and freedom without resistance is weak.
Do you really want to live in the world where your every step is monitored? Just in case, because government doesn't know you personally what if after reading an article online about muslims you'll start feel for them and become US enemy..? You, just in case.
>NSA is helping to secure widely used commercial distro
uh...
There is no secret that NSA approached Linus to implement backdoor into Linux
Everyone knows about openSSL "bug", which might aswell be work of NSA
But noooo... forget this, NSA just wants to help to be secure! Even if it means secure from NSA itself.
Good one.
anyone can join
enemies are enemies of humanity
>inb4 peaceful jizzlam
>inb4 benevolent kelptocratic authoritarians
Same. Switched to antergos and never looked back.
>arch minus knowledge
user, it isn't even worth the autism points, now you've just converted it into a sub-par distro with a good wiki
>that picture
>representing journalist deaths within the past 20 years
>where neoliberal friends of the West have been in power for 12
>whereas Putin has been in power for only 8
>indeed, the safest 8 years for journalists in the post-Soviet Russia
>all but one of whom were investigating organized crime, not the Russian government
Give up, shlomo.
Should i download fedora with xfce or i can easily install it by myself over the Gnome?
Fedora comes in different DEs by default called "Fedora Spins".
Just look for the one you want.
Is it ok for further fedora's updates?
Update all your packages and everything should be fine. Just because that one particular Fedora ISO didn't include the latest updates doesn't mean you can easily get the updates thru the terminal.
You don't even have to reboot.
sudo dnf install fedora-upgrade
sudo fedora-upgrade
> using the word (((humanity)))
> having anything against authoritarianism
Get the fuck out, Shlomo.
>NSA is ... helping to secure a widely used [OS]
wannacry about that?
Since I installed Fedora on my laptop, the wifi keeps dying randomly. This never happened with Windows 10 or Mageia, so I can only assume Fedora is fucking it up somehow.
Fedora is pretty nice, but I refuse to believe it can possibly be the best.
wigger
Fedora is the only distro that has worked out-of-the-box with nouveau and my optimus laptop, even Ubuntu had some setup to do. Also, Fedora's GNOME package is very sleek and well done.
for : better than osx
against : logo
conclusion : you should buy android tablet for porn collection and find a job in wallmart
>ITT: Reasons for and against installing fedora
The only thing Fedora is good for is downloading a Debian 9 ISO and putting it on a USB stick.
I wouldn't use it for anything else, family.
