what are you talking about exactly? they had a referendum in 2008 which passed by a wide margin, giving them increased autonomy, and even since they got home rule in the late 70's they've always been voting for parties seeking even greater autonomy, if not outright independence.

Created the world's oldest surviving parliament, discovered the New World, wrote the Sagas, rekt Europe with volcano power (which caused the French revolution, mind you), bred the world's strongest men and prettiest women, had the Nobel prize-winning author Halldór Laxness, defeated the British thrice in the Cod War, invented a new weapon in the process, held the Fischer-Spassky match, Höfði meeting, have the most clean energy in the world, the 7th highest inequality-adjusted HDI, and the world's purest drinking water

Icelandic > Norwegian
It's so much better it's incomparable.
Norwegian got cucked by Danish, which in turn got cucked by Low German.

>tought Danish in schools, not Norwegian
>not returned to norway with the faroes and greenland post 1814

Yes it looks bad, remember the real enemy

Icelandic has it's own word for anything, except feminism, because it's unnecessary cancer. kek

What happened, Noregur

Faroese parliament is older.

As for the rest, pic related

Well there's the two official versions of Norwegian, and there's the Sami versions.

I wouldn't count Sami though, given that it's not Norwegian.

But neither bokmål nor nynorsk is shared with any other country.

Actually, NSL may count, there's a chance we have at least one language, I guess.

>A "war" over fishing rights with the casualties being 1 engineer, Iceland doesn't even have a proper military lelel
correction; it doesn't have a military at all

I would have counted Sami if they weren't shared with Sweden/Finland/(Russia?) desu.

But
>nynorsk and bokmål
>Norwegian
Danish in disguise desu. It isn't a real own language for Norway.
Perhaps some dialects can be considered non-Danish, but they don't have any written standards so I dunno.

And, like I said here Norwegian Sign Language may count as our own. It does originate from Danish Sign Language but I don't know how close it is, may count as its own thing. Madagaskarian Norwegian Sign Language doesn't make it not our own language, because it was invented here.

There is also Romani, but that's shared with Sweden, so not our own.

bulgarian heritage?

I can agree that bokmål is mostly based on Danish, but nynorsk is based on the Norwegian dialects at the time when it was made. And few people if any spoke Danish in Norway at the time, so nynorsk is arguably a Norwegian language. However I can agree that since it's based almost solely on western dialects, it's not really a language for all Norwegians. But it's a language by and for Norwegians.

But it's not like it matters, since most people don't speak either nynorsk or bokmål.

We'll gladly take them off your hands

Vit verða sjálvstöðug skjótt.

Einasta orsokin lýðveldi Ísland er til, er takka verið Föroyingum. Tit hovdu onki verið uttan okkum.

Modern Nynorsk is based on a spoken language that is based on Bokmål, which is based on Danish. There is not much left of the old Nynorsk.
But it does have Norwegian roots, I guess. And you will write Norwegian if you try to write conservative, unlike Bokmål, which has no conservative Norwegian form.

That it's based solely on western dialects is just a myth, there was plenty of consideration for eastern dialects too. I heard it got more words from the Oslo Fjord region than from Sogn, for example, when Landsmål was shaped.
But it was intended as a written language for all of the country, you can't only limit it to one dialect then. The more degenerate dialects will have to end up more distant from the finished form than the less degenerate dialects, unless you want to force degeneracy on everyone. It is better to choose the less degenerate forms, that even very often will lead to the more denerate forms with very simple pronunciation rules.
Take for example the maskuline and feminine forms:
gutar - gutane
sorer - solene
You could do it in the degenerate way, and make the official forms
guter - guta
soler - solene
But that's forcing degenerate language onto everyone, and you can get to this point with some simple rules anyway, even if you choose the less degenerate form.

Another point is that in many cases, eastern forms were chosen over western forms. For example "mjölk", taken from eastern dialekts (though, in part because Ivar Aasen wanted it to not be further from Swedish than necessary).

This is not even considering everything that was done after, making even the surface forms more eastern, like the -a endings, or the -i in verbs, clearly eastern traits that do not actually fit western Norwegian that well. Modern Nynorsk is based more off eastern dialects than western ones, with only a few symbolic things like a few more diphtongs (like "ein") to represent the west. Eastern Norway did also use to have dialects, speaking Bokmål is recent.

>So you admit you're not able to defend yourselves

BTW, everything that is special about iceland, they have stolen from faroes. It's all lies from iceland tourist propaganda institute.

We have beautifuller nature.

We have oldest parliament.

Most norse language.

Faroe found iceland, greenland and amerika.

Sexiest women and strongest men.

We are also much more incest than them.

And we would probably beat them in football.

I know a couple of Scottish gaelic speakers

It's only got around 50,000 actual speakers iirc, and it's pretty useless.

Support the attempts to revive it though, would be ashame to see it die out. Seems depending on the speaker it can sound lovely or sound horrible as well.

>We are

>Sexiest women
Do you guys even have clubs and pubs or do you actually try and pull sober?

They don't have women, all women live in Copenhagen.
