I installed it yesterday and it seems really great, not so much for file sharing but for the communication features like distributed forums and email.
Seems pretty simple to install and use.
I wanted to post my ID here but apparently this board thinks its spam even when I replace all slashes with other signs.
Anyone knows what triggers the spamfilter here?

I looked into alternate internet stuff a few years ago and also right retroshare looked like the best secure useable platform. As well as maybe gnunet. I don't use it though because I have no friends.

If anyone cares, I got about 80k files in my folders. Mostly ebooks. But a few movies and series too. On BitTorrent I can usually do upload rates of several MB/s so speed should not be a problem I think

Illegal stuff will not be hosted at all or at least not very often.
Nodes hosting illegal stuff can be downvoted by signature.
Good nodes become well reputed and better connected, bad nodes wither away.
