>tfw conquering everybody as Ireland in ck2

Surely Sinn Féinwould argue Brexit would give you a good Casus belli?

too busy vaping

Because an independent Ireland has no sense, irish has dissapeared, there is no real distinction between irish and brittish and therefore people from Northern Ireland don't have a reason for claim a reunification. It would be more possible that Ireland reunifies inside the UK than outside of it.

What's Ireland going to be like when I visit? I'm afraid the y will make me look silly with all of their witty banter while I'll have noting to say back to them because I'm half autistic.

people in the north don't want it

just pretend to be canadian and you'll be fine

I WAS BORN ON A DUBLIN STREET

How can you be half autistic?

As much as I'd love to see a united Ireland & Britain it's certainly not going to happen in our lifetimes, if ever. Too much bitter history.

A useless border friction Casus Bellus, it would put us at war with the entire western world due to NATO.

Take a joke and you'll do fine.

WHERE THE ROYAL DRUMS DO BEAT

because NI wants to be part of the UK.

>As much as I'd love to see a united Ireland & Britain
I have no idea why the fuck you'd want this but I suspect they are bad reasons and that you shouldn't feel good about yourself henceforth.

Talk loudly on the train about your ancestors, your income and your therapist. Also wear green whenever possible.

AND THE LOVING ENGLISH FEET THEY TRAMPLED ALL OVER US

the english dont allow them to de referendum
we need a new william wallace

If the Irish ever united they'd probably end up all killing each other anyway

They had a referendum before.

It's a map painting autism thing thanks to too many hours playing Paradox games.

My stepmom said she faced a great deal of Anti-Americanism when she visited in the 80s but she is a very dumb person. A bartender I was talking to last week said he was in Ireland for a month visiting cousins and the only conversations he had were "are you voting for Trump?" "No"

proofs? how many years before? was it legit?

1973, 98% voted to remain in the UK. Nationalists boycotted it, but they lost fair and square.

I think its time for a new referendum!

why doesn't scotland finally unite with the big black faroe islands?

I don't know where your bartender went to but nearly everyone here doesn't care about Trump except for Facebook lefty slacktivists.

Also the power to call such a referendum lies with the First Minister, westminster can't call it.

it will never expire, Irish is your primary culture

The scumbags would kill each other and we'd all be better off.

tell that first minister guy to call it

this

Expired was the wrong word. We relinquished our claim on the north in the GFA

Honest question, what effect do you Irish guys think that Brexit will have on the unification question?

It seems doubtful to me that much will happen, although some moderate unionists seem to be getting jittery about the economy.

If Scotland leaves the UK something might happen but probably not.

Wait till the referendum returns a 50 50 split. Then the slaughter will begin

Would the end of the union mean an end to a singular, unionist identity, or would they rally around something else?

It's probably self diagnosed autism.

The first minister is a woman and she's a unionist. She's not going to call it.

>Only the First Minister can call a referendum.
>The GFA essentially ensures that the First Minister will always be a unionist.
> There will never be a referendum.

I see what you did there.

the 12th is coming lads
bad time to be norn irish ahahhahahaha

please kill the ulster scots, it's gone on long enough

>bad time to be norn irish
u wot? 12th's great craic.

I'd say the moderates wouldn't stop thinking of themselves as "British" but their actual political position would soften/be more amicable. Hardliners will always be faggots of course. The GFA has already guaranteed a protection of their identity after all, whatever's left of it once the UK essentially dissolves.

One true king of ireland and her people. Legally he was our king for three hundred and thirty years.

Forgot picture.

His Royal Majesty, King of England, Ireland, Scotland and Defender of the Faith, King James II

yeah maybe he was hanging around college campuses or something

He is only a usurper of Ireland
the republic belongs to the people and the people alone
