Holy shit my childhood. I had an older version of that.

Why did this become a fad and why did it disappear so abruptly? You can't find any kind of gizmo or electronic with these types of clear plastic anymore.

>March 3rd, 2017

Unless is gaymur shit like and pic related

Because present day electronic devices use or mimic a metallic body.

Neat fetish you got there. Does the clear plastic make you feel warm and good inside because it reminds you of when these devices with their certain clear aesthetic giving feelings of novelty and excitement? Similar to how in trading card games, like Pokemon, shiny cards gave feelings of coolness?

>why was it a thing
I'm tempted to say companies copying the gumdrop iMac.
>why did it go away
because Apple dropped that shit and then everyone who still used that look was seen as out of date

>tfw Windows XP seems like a cheap skin of 95 compared to OS X interface at the time

OS X is kind of an annoying OS to talk about. My biggest issue with it is that thanks to its rolling release schedule, it's hard to pin down an era of it. You talk about XP, it conjures a certain era. You mention Vista, same again. But OS X has been a rolling thing since 2001. Which may also help with its reputation for being ahead of the curve. On top of having been pretty cutting edge when it was new, I think a lot of people look at the OS as it exists today and think of it as having always been more or less like that.

outta my way, faggots

this sound immediately popped in my head

because Apple decreed that only white plastic and aluminum are allowed as chassis colors

oh man, I used to have an Aptiva, 1997 model. My first time experiencing the internet from my house. Did a few upgrades to it over the years (larger hdd, 64mb ram, graphics cards Xpert 98 8mb pci (1998) a 3DFX Voodoo 3 2000 (1999). K6 200 mhz, win 95, lotus smart suite 97, world book encyclopedia. Wish I still had it.

At least, my 2008 MB is still white, unlike aged shit/piss coloured 1990s "white" plastic devices.

Nice keyboard

This semi clear plastic aesthetic looks really tacky, desu.

Similar to iPhone, it didn't even support Apps or even Copy/Paste.
