OpenBSD's ksh fork

fish but I have some issues with a few of the builtins.
I'd love to try to design my own shell language that handles things like variable scope better than any other shell has (not counting shells where the scripting language is a preexisting language like c/scheme/python)

GNU Bash

I really like unity

>tfw you get anxious, envious and generally bad because even chink slaves can smile more genuinely than you.
Its bash for me btw.

I'm using zsh in st (for truecolor, see gist.github.com/XVilka/8346728).

If you're new to Linux, you might want to try fish.

I treat learning & using anything outside the POSIX sh spec as a waste of time. OpenBSD's ksh is my favourite implementation, but bash in POSIX mode is barely acceptable.

this
fell for the zsh meme for a while but bash is literally superior

Looking for a fast shell for a hobby distro.

I was going to use Zsh but I've been looking at Fsh.

Any other reliable snappy shells?

mksh

I'll look into it, thanks!

zsh

It's GNU/Linux Plus Bash

rc and OpenBSD's ksh
but would drop rc if it wasn't so fast

I really like PoSh, fight me!

Not a shell
>mfw this is the average intelligence of Rustfaggots
When will you literal plebs fix bitmap fonts causing alashitty to crash

zsh or gtfo desu senpai

They all seem the same to me.

does anyone else think that zsh feels bloated?

urxvt + zsh

Powershell.

I was going to say this as a shitpost, but a little research shows it's open source, cross platform, built on and includes .net core, is multi-paradigm and has some seriously kickass features.

How the FUCK does Microsoft succeed so well with their power user and programming languages, but fails so catastrophically at everything else?

why use anything other than bash?

same here.
zsh autocomplete is a pain in the ass, both to set up and to use. It gets in your way, where bash autocomplete speeds shit up. It just works.
