Ultrawide monitors

Are they a meme?

yes
now go suck a ultrawide dick

Nope, I have one, and I love it.
144hz is a meme though

this

I've got two displays on my desk, and I'd rather have a single wider panel. More horizontal real estate without interruption is a wondrous thing.

Ackshually...

Both setup has it's advantages and disadvantages.
I used dual setup before my ultrawide.
With ultrawide you get a lot of empty space on non responsive websites, and most of the time I use it to view a single window(undivided attention is always more efficient). If you watch tv shows instead of movies you get black bars on the sides(but the blackbars from the movies disappear since they use 21:9 in cinema).
But when you do multitasking there is nothing better than this

>sit at a desk
>not much room
>get shortscreen monitor to take up entire horizontal space
it's clearly the most efficient use of desk real estate
it's like the superiority of a crt

The curve makes it look deformed from further than optimum distance. 27" 1440p is the best monitor for mixed use and it has 100+ ppi

>27" 1440p
you mean 37" 1440p?
Also curves for 37" UW is necessary

>you mean 37" 1440p?

yeah if you want a television sized screen that looks like shit at 2 foot distance

Are there even 27" UW-s? I know there are 25, 29, 34 and 37

I meant 16:9 1440p. I dunno lol.

I see. UW-s have different dimensions. A 25" UW has the height of a 19" normal screen, it's just wide as fuck

not for gayming

Yeah well it depends on what you are using in for. Higher ppi looks better closer up was my original redundant point. For an ultrawide I would get the 29" 1080pbut everyone is different.

2560x1080.
I like it for movies shit feels nice to watch.

Id rather just buy two seperate monitors, more functionality imo

do you like watching movies on a cinema screen, or is that a meme?

fucking boxed 16:9 screens are the true meme here

other way around buddy

Yes it's a shitty meme. Enjoy neck pain and less multitasking capabilities.

>Sup Forums

What? I like star trek and stargate

34" 3440×1440
or
37" 3840×1600

All specs are identical otherwise.
What would Sup Forums choose?

I would choose the smaller one, but if you have a high end graphics card and need for that big a monitor than the bigger

I just want a good ultrawide for gaming that doesnt have the curved screen thing and can do more than 100hz and doesnt cost 1500 dollars.

There are like 10 UW on the market right now, if you can't find it, it doesn't exits

I want to get 1 or 2 sometime soon.

i have one, i love it. Being able to tile ALL my terminals and code editors and browsers at once is amazing. I get a lot done with it
