16:9 1920x1080 monitor

>16:9 1920x1080 monitor
>$120
>16:10 1920x1200 monitor
>$250

WTF!?

>1920
absolutely disgusting

Don't you know? 16:10 is a proprietary format.

>Not using 16:10 1440x900
DUMB CIA NIGGER FAGGOT spotted.

16:10 isn't as common as 16:9, dumb economiclet.

It's almost as if demand affected prices or something

Kill yourself anime poster.

Not a weeb but you must understand that you're on an Anime website

Only on anime boards, faggot

>normal monitor
>$120
>4k monitor that just have twice as many pixels
>$700
O-ok

>unironically frogposting

I'm quite happy with my 24" 1080p 60Hz monitor (on GTX 1070 8GB OC) that I got a few years ago.
Would like 1440p 140Hz but they're too pricy still (AU).

it's four times the pixel

Frog website

No. It never was. Ever.

19:10 panels are very rare, manufacturers have to pretty much custom order those. Same thing applies to 4:3 and 5:4 panels as well.

>twice as many pixels
kek

I wanted to get a 16:10 IPS monitor for vertical use but they were all too damn expensive to be worth it.

Sucks but feels worth it for your main monitor. 16:9 feels too constraining, like playing games on a low FOV.

Just got a pair of computer only prescription glasses for my 27" 1440P display. Had to move it closer to me and now it looks too fucking big!

First world problems :)

>animenigger is unable to do basic maths
Shocking.

30" 2560x1600 master race
Sweetspot between 1440p and 4k

>being new
Every board is an anime board.

Why would you even consider buying a 1080p monitor in 2017?

I want to buy a new monitor my first one is LCD 14" 1366x768 what should I buy, is there any monitor guide?

Not trying to denounce your purchase and status, but why would that be a sweetspot? I know nothing of tech, but do you mean 4k is a compromise somehow? Also why is 1440p the baseline for when you give context for your sweetspot?

>1366x768
Fucking why.

>Dumb anime poster doesn't understand supply and demand

It's not possible to be this new.

Oh yea, 16:10 1440x900 is fucking amazing.

I wish it was. 16:10 is better.

Just fucking ignore the anime shit and look at the post, you dumb frog poster.

What are you using your monitor for? Gaming? Video editing? Programming? Etc..

I swear it's not really like that tho, it must be propaganda of some kind to force the industry to 16:9, I just don't get. I guess plebs get "16:9" indoctrinated into them everywhere but tablets go weird resolutions without care, do they not?

Some 2560x1440 with an IPS panel
Those aren't too expensive and are really nice

Just stop posting

Some of us don't like black bars on the sides or bottoms thank you, 16:9 is literally perfect.

Do I have to post the "you seem to misunderstand how comminities work" infographic/text wall again?

>watching movies on your work monitor and then having the audacity to complain about black bars when the monitor is made for you to worn on

I don't know man it's my first computer at 2007 and my friend picked the parts for me

I'm using it for video games and programming

alright, noted

fixed it for you senpai
it has the GNU at the bottom and gentoo is just Linux

anime website

16:10 is the aspect ratio you want. The extra vertical space is quite useful, for both games and programming. Or, you could consider having a 16:9 monitor and a 4:3/5:4 one next to it, as I am using now. It's probably cheaper, too, as 16:10 tends to be slightly expensive.

>being poor

let me guess, everyone ITT is either still in college or high school

I have a 1920x1200 right now

I tried a 2560x1440 one at a computer lab though
it was absolutely amazing for productive work.

Wow. 4k as in 4000 pixels, vs 1920 that's almost 2k. That's double the size. I'm not even the weeb fag you responded too, but you're just as retarded as him.

1920*1080 = 2073600 pixels
3840*2160 = 8294400 pixels

>4000 pixels, vs 1920

horizontally

This. It's an exponential increase because your timising by two numbers that each get bigger.

because 8:5 is marketed towards retards that fall for memes. sort of like audiophiles

>tfw refurbished 1280x1024 tn panel for $30

who /master race/ here?

me

In the context of 1920x1080 v. 1920x1200 though there seems no downside to "8:5" unless you count not exercising the extra pixels when playing 16:9 media a "downside" despite it simply not being there on the 16:9 variant.

Unlike a television which only plays 16:9 media, a monitor can use the extra real estate.

Should probably mention I have 3 more Dell monitors as this resolution, all working, in a cupboard.

I was looking for this cap yesterday, have a (you)

I blame 1080P marketing retardation. My 10 year old dell LCD panel is 16:10, and so is my 2 year old chink Intel atom tablet (1920*1200).

16:9 a shit.

>Not buying a 4K monitor instead

>14" 1366x768
Pretty much anything is going to be an upgrade from that... Christ.

When will newfags stop falling for this bait

Sweetspot because it's the perfect resolution for 30" and my 1070 runs everything at 60fps maxed out for 90% of games. 4k is for kids. Hence the 4Kids.
