Isn't the GPU and CPU market in pretty much an optimal state now?

Isn't the GPU and CPU market in pretty much an optimal state now?
Nvidia and Intel are making huge profits, that they re-invest to make technology advance faster than if the profit was split on several companies
While AMD is always there as the off-brand alternative that makes sure they have to keep prices resonable

>using your bike when it's wet
wew

>being a fucking pussy

>off-brand

>Not quite as good but does the job
Sounds about right

>literal duopoly
>duopoly of not one, but TWO of the most important parts that make a PC a PC
>optimal state
Optimal for them, second-worst case scenario for everyone else.

>Isn't the GPU and CPU market in pretty much an optimal state now?
No, it's still Isn't the GPU and CPU market in pretty much an optimal state now? from inflated prices. It would be better if there were multiple chip maker as in the ARM world.

>While AMD is always there as the off-brand alternative that makes sure they have to keep prices resonable

and they don't get smashed into pieces as monopolists.

i feel like gpus are way more expensive than they should be tho

I can't even quote properly anymore, sorry.

Yes. The compute space has converged and is in alignment.

Miners.

>Nvidia and Intel are making huge profits, that they re-invest to make technology advance faster than if the profit was split on several companies

If nvidia weren't making such huge profits because of competition, then yeah, maybe prices would be 10% lower, but performance would be 30% lower because of the lack of R&D.

Just look at AMD, they're more than a whole generation after nvidia in performance. It doesn't matter if prices are a bit inflated for nvidia, it's still the better buy

see

competition doesnt stop innovation potential, if anything it promotes innovation and lower prices and or greater adherence to the demands of the markets that want those specific products

>it promotes innovation and lower prices
Yeah, but you still need huge R&D budgets to actually make those innovations happen.
Technology doesn't get better every year by magic

>nvidia is the better buy
>the state of the average nvidiot

>better performance for 18 months
>same or better performance after 18 months
>draws less power
>same price

i know dude but no competition makes people more prone to be stagnant. for instance intel makes price drops (slightly) and nvidia changes their entire marketing material and now says their high end shit is "and of course great for gaming" when they used to say it was a workstation gpu just 7 months ago all bc amd is producing stuff that is in demand. competition is good for the market

>but no competition makes people more prone to be stagnant
but there IS competition retard

your a fag and so is op youre thread is shit and you are shit.
