This image needs to be updated. Aurora firefox doesn't exist anymore, nightly firefox has a new logo and presumably firefox beta, developer and stable will get new logos. It could at least mention brave and vivaldi.
Jose Ramirez
>vivaldi isn't this Opera + Botnet?
Dominic Edwards
yes
Dominic Brooks
>no mention of QupZilla worthless image
Luis Garcia
This list is so fucking outdated, my mom could had designed it. Why doesn't anyone post the updated version?
Easton Davis
Why disable the disk cache? Isn't it good to leave a little for perf?
Chase Price
It should be disabled on an SSD, it writes 20 gb daily.
Samuel Martin
>Why doesn't anyone post the updated version? because the only *updated* version is Palemoon shitposting
Julian Edwards
What's the benefit of IceCat over Firefox? Is it just muh nonfree shitposting in a program form, or does it have actual benefits?
Parker Sullivan
YouTube is shit on Firefox. It takes time to replay a video after pause or after skipping around.
if you want the latest package just use waterfox then
Jacob Allen
>waterfox What's the catch? It can't just be "Icecat but better"
Carson Hughes
It's the only ''stable'' 64bit version of firefox and with some tracking and telemetry removed but you still need to manually tweak about:config for better privacy
Aiden Edwards
Thank you, I'll switch right now. I would check the config myself regardless anyway.
Justin Russell
:)
Xavier Gomez
still needs to be mentioned though look at some of the browsers on the image
Kevin Thompson
did I miss anything?
Benjamin Smith
a sense of aesthetics (and nightly's new logo)
Robert Perez
>a sense of aesthetics I'm not gay
Kayden Young
look at the fucking logos dude it looks like shit
Lucas Lee
I don't have any GIMP/photoshop skill plus I'm not downloading any crap to make a better image for Sup Forums apple autists
Ryder Thomas
>Anything from Google >no privacy issues frigg off
Joshua Torres
fixed
Nicholas Peterson
>telemetry to false Why? Leave this "true" so they can improve the browser further.
Camden Howard
>Nightly >placebo not these days
Alexander Carter
Do this because I want a better version of waterfox next release Thanks
Jeremiah King
Ice cat is cutting edge?
Owen Myers
>implying they implemented anything worthwhile >muh aesthetics
Nicholas Jackson
Yes
Connor Mitchell
...
Andrew Taylor
>network.http.sendRefererHeader - set to 1 I have read it is safer to disable referrers. Set to 0
Brandon Robinson
1 should be safe enough for most people
Luke Long
Is the Waterfox site down? I'm getting an ssl error in one browser, while it freezes on another.
Why should safebrowsing be set to false if you want better privacy and security? It seems kind of counterintuitive.
Thomas Carter
>nightly firefox has a new logo yet again
Benjamin Lee
Because safebrowsing sends every single link you visit to google to check it isn't one of their "harmful sites".
Kayden Myers
because safebrowsing is browsing through google servers
Michael Kelly
I disabled the disk cache but Waterfox still write a lot to my SSD when watching videos, is this normal or there's something more to do? (I think I disabled everything I could on Windows' side, except the page file, couldn't turn it off on the SDD completely)
Michael Sullivan
Any about:config performance tweaks other than the logicalincrements ones?
Andrew Taylor

I missed a few, seems better now especially without loading any small videos at all, thanks. It finally sits down at 0% most of the time outside of occasional small bursts.
I'm still wondering what the hell is it writing constantly even when nothing is loading though. It doesn't seems enough to warrant moving the install to the hdd, but my system still write 0.260Mb/s on the SSD with just a browser running.
Chase Moore
another user here on top of this, I remove all the safebrowsing options. firefox keep on updating his database all the time
I don't need that pleb shit anyway
Camden Kelly
in theory if you are not running any background app it shouldn't be writing on disk
Cooper Sullivan
>. firefox keep on updating his database all the time ? which database? monitor your firewall to see what's going on (the address)
Xavier Harris
Lynx is fucking cool.
Where's Brave?
Nicholas Garcia
>? which database? database file where it keeps listing all the bad reputation sites.
>2017 >not building your own Firefox with botnet removed
Adam Rodriguez
Chrome user here.
Which of these will be easiest for me to transfer to and have the best benefits to me.
Thanks
Juan Edwards
chromium is probably what you're looking for
firefox and its forks have some cool add-ons though
Dominic Garcia
???
Andrew Stewart
lynx's disease user, you have it now
Robert James

Great post OP!
I was expecting a bait thread but you have a nice preset of suggestions. Personally I've used these for 4+ years and I've increased my I/O and physical flash drive write expectancy on live images with FF.
browser.cache.disk.enable set to false browser.cache.offline.enable set to false browser.cache.disk.capacity set to 0 browser.cache.offline.capacity set to
I'd imagine they would benefit laptops, embedded, and older hardware too.

Is there any lightweight browser that doesn't use too much ram with HTML5 support?
Leo Walker
>no cyberfox
Dominic Sanchez
does anyone have a 32 bit x86 build of ungoogled chromium for linux
