>used laptop

Fuck that.

Why not?
> be poorfag
> have ~$500 budget
> Only shitty i3 wallmart laptop available at that price range
> i5/i7s available if used
Only brainlets would get a new one

>"thinkpad are too expensive where I live"
>mentions Walmart

So you're in America? Ever heard of eBay?

>So you're in America
nope, you know Wallmart is global right? Even third world shitholes have a few wallmarts

> american education

Both of those are dogshit. Get Dell latitude or hp elitebook. Preferably dell, it's overall better. Never buy consumerist shit used, it will fall apart in your hands. This garbage is not meant to last past warranty.

I can also get a Dell Latitude, but it's so underspecd compared to these... only dual core i5's with integrated graphics

Why do you care? What are you going to use your laptop for? Playing gaymes during your college classes?
You pay for quality. You buy laptop that will last you next 10 years, assuming you replace thermal paste and not trash it too badly.

I got a chronos years ago. I got the i7 one but the screen brightness never worked right on Linux. And the keyboard stopped working after 2 years, I fixed in about 10 minutes, created Cabela's, but it kept happening. The performance however in great even today. It also gets really hot

The one with the SSD all day. Both of their GPUs are worthless hence no current-gen gaming. The i7 won't make any difference in day-to-day use. You should weigh in other factors such as display quality, build quality, battery life.

>Both of their GPUs are worthless hence no current-gen gaming
True
> The i7 won't make any difference in day-to-day use
Not true at all, a quad-core i7 should be noticeably faster than a dual-core i3 on anything
> The one with the SSD all day
120GB SSD's are cheap af

OP here, looks like I found it Sup Forums, the perfect used laptop

Thinkpad T440s
> i5 4200U
> 128GB SSD
> 8GB of RAM
> $460
Can I pull the trigger Sup Forums?

Jesus christ user, think your your fucking self.

I want opinions ffs

Get the Dell and buy an SSD for it. Avoid laptops with HDD in general. If you can't afford an SSD for the laptop then get neither and buy something else.

see:

>I only buy the most new and expensive things I don't need
nice job goy

You're retarded. He could spend the $40 he'd save by getting the Dell and get a 120gb SSD AND have 2gb more of RAM and a 4c/8t processor.

Neither. I'd build a desktop.

radeon will be better for free drivers also nvidia is shit for gnome afaik BUT the inspison may be better quality
