He's a schizophrenic, who used to be a OS programmer for Ticketmaster. He had a mental break in the 90s and became religious and was convinced that God spoke to him and told him to create his "Third Temple" which would be an operating system. And that's what he's been working on for the last 14 years.
To be clear, his operating system (and compiler, shell, bootloader, "userspace" tools) are quite impressive technically. Especially once you consider that he put an arbitrary limit of 100k lines (for everything).
It's quite tragic, he's been getting less lucid recently. Sup Forums has been fucking with him, which personally makes me feel quite angry. For example, people send him emails pretending to be from Linus Torvalds to piss him off. You're preying on a mentally handicapped person, that's pretty fucked. He was a geek, just like the rest of us.

Paging doesn't impact performance, since everything is done through a MMU. In fact, flat mapping is still using paging. You can't be in long mode without pages. Also Ring 0 is for faggots. Call me when TempleOS has access to SSM and my firmware settings.

He can't boot TOS native on his machine, because he refuses to use PCI and instead operates everything in ISA mode talking directly to the CPU I/O ports. The UEFI port that Murphy guy is working on should fix that, since it allows us easy PCIe and sata access without having to configure them, since the UEFI drivers already take care of that.

Terry A Davis is a genius. He wrote an x86 assembler from scratch, then he wrote a custom C language (HolyC) on top of that and then he wrote an OS on top of that which is completely written in HolyC and can modify itself. You can also embed images and 3D models directly in the source code. It's fucking awesome.
