He needs more than one monitor

>he needs more than one monitor

>imblyign Kirino wouldn't play two lewd loli games on two monitors simultaneously.

>he can't afford more than one monitor

who the fuck cares if I """need""" more than one monitor? I WANT more than one monitor.

>he doesn't multitask while plodding through the shitty weekly anime

it actually makes your multitasking worse.

have fun craning your neck every minute

>Not having two monitors so you can do your work on one while watching Tibetan cartoons on the other

have fun craning your fingers while you type

I wish I had two monitors of the same size; it increases my productivity quite a bit.
Oh well...

>doesn't live inside an infinite virtual space with an oculus/vive
pleb

bitch my old job had 2 double wide monitors and i STILL wanted more

i dont even understand how people can deal with one monitor desu

>it actually makes your multitasking worse

No.

You do know that eyes can move independently of the head?

At work, absolutely. At home, it's just nice to have

One monitor is to move all porn tabs to and switch off or put some video on, another one is to slack and ogle IDE icon sorrowfully. Third one would move speakers too far apart, thus excessive.

How can you work if watching Tibetan cartoons properly requires reading subtitles?

my monitor only has one dvi connector

>not knowing tibetan

My other monitor is a Cintiq.
Checkmate athiests!

>needing more than 0+1 monitor

>cant afford a monitor big enough to do both

>21:9

he might be chinese

The Chinese actually have an advantage due to their flat nose ridges.

I dont but i still like it
>mfw i got employed and two 16:10 monitors where waiting on my desk

>not going for 21:9

maybe he is so retarded to sit like 20cm infront of his monitor and therefore has to move his head

>using a monitor

Get on my level, Chums.

>it actually makes your multitasking worse.

What you do is divide your workspace up among things that require your focus (such as what you're working on), and things that only need to be looked at once in a while (toolbars, reference material, chat windows). It's a huge efficiency boost.

:D

>I can't handle the fact that people have different needs or simply like differents things than me

Then you'll need a tool for managing the window layouts and it will get inconsistent

cute

1 4k oled at 50+ inches for multimedia
1 penable monitor because I have always wanted a monitor I can draw on
1 144hz monitor as a workhorse.

If I could get an oled at around 40-48 inches and knew what the burn in time was, that may be a workhorse monitor, but because I don't know, I just use it for video as my computer is the center for all my entertainment.

I know!
Once you are used to 3 or more monitors it's horrible to go back to just one.

>tfw listening to two imoutos cum simultaneously

It's called workspaces.

>he hasn't setup a chain of motors to move his screens

>mfw no qt imouto

How else do I use both the host and the guest VM at the same time?

nice sound device.

This man is a true genius and the most valuable Google engineer. He's like a God at Google and not even the CEO would go against him. He literally made Google what it is today and wrote/worked-on all of their most important software stacks. He's worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

Now, notice something interesting:

He doesn't have two, three or four monitors and he doesn't have some gigantic TV screen that kills your focus and distracts him from everything important.

He's not distracted by having a phone out on his desk, because he doesn't use such technology as a lifeline like consumerist millennial do who'd literally die without their phone.

He doesn't have some bullshit meme mech keyboard with some special switches that were forged by elves in Japan from katana-grade steel and lights that emit perfect sRGB colors.

He doesn't have some tricked out text editor with million different features and colors.

He doesn't run some super-autistic Linux distro like Arch that demands you babysit it all the time, or a useless toy OS like Windows.

He doesn't have some DE with customized CSS US that you usually see in tons of threads on here.

He didn't even change the default theme, colors or the default background.

He can afford all that shit, yet he doesn't waste his time on it. Instead, he writes 100x more lines of code than you and is 1,000,000x more accomplished than you'll ever be. And he's infinitely smarter than you'll ever be.

So quit falling for fucking memes and quit craving all the latest bullshit that gets posted on here in these cancerous consumerist "generals" threads. Mark my words, and this is coming from a professional: there's nothing more pathetic than consumers who think having multi-monitor setups makes them productive.

You don't NEED anything more than food, water and shelter from the elements.

I'm not sure what NEED has to do with what I do with my disposable income.

> company insists you have 3 monitors and an absurdly fast off the shelf computer

>a guy literally working vs fat neckbeards watching anime in a second monitor

lol stfu nerd

he has more than one monitor

>he thinks video games are more important than freedom

I've got a three monitor setup at work and could honestly utilise another one.

Dual monitors is fine at home though.

are kirino threads moving to Sup Forums now?

please stop hurting us by speaking like that
we just want to shitpost :(

thank you based botnet engineer

>he needs more than one computer

>He thinks more monitors don't increase productivity
Here's my setup. Think how much time you're wasting minimising, maximising and moving tabs EVERY FUCKING DAY. Take the multihead pill.

If this guy's so hot, why doesn't he have his own office? That looks like a fucking college computer lab.

Post a photo of his office and we'll see his real setup, buddy.

I can't even comprehend the productivity boosts you must be getting by having an entire monitor dedicated to htop. How are you not the CEO of some company by now???

I actually am the CEO of a company.
>tfw you're self-employed and some wage slave tries to mock you
Cute.

thats the point, you dont need intel i7 ovrclocked with 1080 ti to be a good programmer

if you are good you are good, if you are awful it doesnt matter how many monitors you have you are still shit

>entire screen for htop
>all that empty space
>talks about productivity, yet uses a crippled meme keyboard
What this poster said You're a goddamn joke. Learn alt+tab and get a good wm and you can fit all that on one single screen.

Pugs and bulldogs have flat nose ridges and are notorious for breathing problems. Try again slant eye.

>thats the point, you dont need intel i7 ovrclocked with 1080 ti to be a good programmer
That doesn't mean he doesn't have those things in his office or that they don't improve his productivity. Pointing out that he isn't using a mechanical keyboard and hasn't changed his background is fatuous because it's not his computer. OP is saying that extra monitors are unnecessary, but you're saying "bringing your mechanical keyboard to a communal computing area and changing the background every time you use a different computer is unnecessary". Yeah, no shit.

>the way other people live their lives makes me angry

>gif
Deprecated tumblr garbage. Stop posting them. And yes, consumerism is cancer, so of course it makes me angry.

>he needs another monitor for three or four extra windows

cute

Agreed. Multi monitor is mostly a crutch for people who are shit at using their DE of choice. I've never felt my single 30" 2560x1600 was limiting.

>alt+tab
>good wm
ya fuck off pajeet

a fellow decker

>he needs more than one imouto

>when streaming art, i can draw on big screen while keeping an eye on the chat, check for references, change music without viewers seeing it or chat in private woth customers
>when watching 3d modeling/drawing tutorials i dont have to switch between windows every 10 sec
>when gaming i have ts open and can see who's joining the channel and whom im talking with
>when working with colleagues who are far away, we share our desktop so i work on one monitor while i can always see what my colleagues are doing, we can instantly give feedback and help each other

I never want to go back to one monitor ever again

I just use a laptop. But I have been thinking of getting a portable usb monitor.

>I never want to go back to one monitor ever again
This. It's also nice because if you do game you can have one high refresh rate monitor and another (maybe larger) 60 Hz monitor for media or extra stuff.

t. 144 Hz and 60 Hz with a bifurcated stand owner

He's using an HP ZR30W. I have two HP ZR30Ws.

I don't have a problem with it.

>Turning your head is a major workout
Lardass detected.

>using any less than 2 monitors
lmao@urlife

the apple cinema displays are quite the aesthetic

>He doesn't have 11 monitors so he can play 36-box WoW

*so he can 36-box WoW

What's wrong with more real estate to work with. One screen sucks for multi tasking.

No dominos here.

Brat

but i need 2 monitors one for OBS and my chat and one for my gay mans

Does using my laptop while watching television in the living room count as two monitors?

>vista
GOAT

>fail miserably at computing in general
lmao@urlife

>he doesnt have three
>doesnt play team oriented games with educational enlightening vids on the side
>isnt maximisizing pote tial sitting at a desk

Top kek

I like that setup, so cool and useful.

his monitor is upside down how does he read anything

I find that one single large monitor is vastly superior to multiple smaller monitors

this is so 2008 it hurts

>consumerism is cancer, so of course it makes me angry.

I get that people go out and buy multiple expensive monitors for aesthetic reasons, but in terms fo what's practical, it's really only necessary to have the main monitor be a good one. you can only really focus on one at a time, so the others will just be glanced at or looked at briefly, they're just extra real-estate for windows and shit, so they can be old, cheap mintors. I went multi-monitor with like $30 of investment.

one for shitposting, one for watching animus

OKOTEMASU

whats ur twitch qt

Please don't assume people's gender, it's offensive.

Well for me personally I just use one monitor. I only do one thing at a time, and I just alt-tab to my other windows as needed. I don't use the virtual desktops either.

>windows aka gaymen station
>one 1440p IPS and one 1080p 144hz

>loonix aka work rig
>two 1920x1200 IPS

literally the GOAT setup

Actually in my language, the masculine is used as the default for both genders when talking about a group of people or an unknown gendered person. By not being progressive like us or understanding other cultures you are actually also simultaneously being intolerant. Please think twice in the future, thanks.

You do know that always looking sideways is bad for you, right? Unless you plan on roleplaying as a chameleon.

>He doesn't have some tricked out text editor with million different features and colors.
He's using Emacs.

Both of your versions suck
