first reply wasnt interracial porn/Game of Thrones

That feels like quality

I like Czech Streets.

Serbian film game was strong in the 90s.

...

Wait...

...Europe makes films?

...

...

Europe does not have the technology to make movies

This was also pretty good

Hollywood "remakes" an awful lot of scandinavian movies.

Look it up.
The Bridge.

The original is actually pretty good.

Or look up
"The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo"
"The Girl who played with Fire"

Bot great scandinavian Films than Hollywood completely ruined with the remake.

Scandis make top tier thrillers.

pretty recommended

This

Might be biased, but ex-yu and later after 90s fr yugoslavia had a rather good cinematography.

Personal favorites include
Pretty Village, Pretty Flame one of the best war story movies ever made, without a question
The Professional
Battle of Neretva
March on Drina
Walter defends Sarajevo, probably the most watched war movie on the planet. The Chinese completely love it.

Czech Twins are also good

I actually watched ages ago.
Just had to look for the German title, hard shit, but good shit.

Bookmarking these, thanks!

Best war story I'd actually say Come And See.

>Come And See.

Seems really good, putting it on my list.

Pierrot le fou by Godard
Diva by Jean-Jacques Beneix
Blow Up by Antonioni
Baisers volés by Truffaut
Le samouraï by Melville

Sup Forums has turned turned shittier far more than any other board. I actually miss the avatar spam. It wasn't as bad as it is now.

IMO the American versions of both are better, but the originals are still phenomenal. Especially that Bron|Broen intro video and music and based Martin and Saga. I heard the latest season was without Martin. Is it still worth watching without him? Sadly the US version was canceled just as it was getting good with the development of Marco into someone who starts to break bad.

Marketa Lazarova
Stroszek
Come and See
Pickpocket

I love austrian movies, at least those that are just plain depressing and don't try to be funny.

Hundstage or Das Finstere Tal are both great, but I have no idea how they would work in english.

serbian film

I didnt like the American version of the Bridge as much as I liked the original.
They didnt manage to potray Martin's personal struggles and Saga's autism as good as in the original.

I didnt watch the third season yet, but I hope they managed.

And Daniel Craig is a horrible Actor. Period. He's the male Kristen Stewart
But if you liked it, I'd recommend you The Hundred Code.

Hundstage is Dog Days actually.
It was p good.
good taste
didnt get the attention it deserved. But the genre hardly has an audience.

Man Bites Dog is one of my favorite films in the Criterion collection. It's a really great movie.

I took an intro to film theory class in college and we watched The Lives of Others as one of the movies for the class. Then I took German for my foreign language requirement and we watched it again for that class as well. I thought that was kinda funny.

>The Hundred Code
Thanks user, it sounds interesting. I'm downloading it right now. I'm really running out of things to watch and there's nothing decent running right now. Have to wait for the fall for Narcos and Grand Tour, and sadly The Knick isn't airing this year.

Have you watched Deutschland 83? I thought it was pretty good. Can't find a premiere date for the second season though even though it aired over a year ago and second season has been confirmed.

The green butchers.

brotip: the american remake NEVER existed

Same with Låt den rätte komma in/Let Me In.

Man Bites Dog is based

>Blow Up by Antonioni
a piece of shit, admit it. They didn't even finish the movie, but thought "hey, it's not that plot-driven, let's keep it like that"

>Man Bites Dog
If you think about it this movie would be branded racist today because of Ben's wisdom. That's the sad thing.

>The Lives of Others
If you watch a movie for the second time you always find funny remarks.

You're right. I watched this one, but it was kinda strange. Loli vampires.

I like Bertolucci's films

les cerisiers lign at the projects is one of the best monologue of modern cinema.

>your job will never be to photograph and fuck qt anorexic euro models in the 60s
why do we bother living?

I'm hyped for Narcos and yes I watched Deutschland 83 but I don't have any information if there will be a second season, because the response was rather weak.

Black Book was pretty good.

What do you guys think about Luis Bunuel's The Exterminating Angel? It was filmed in Mexico with Mexican cast and crew but the director was Spanish, so was it a European film or a Mexican film? I really enjoyed it either way. Right up there with The Seventh Seal as my favorite films.

for the art, the style, the way of life, the music, the girls (including jane birkin), it's not uninteresting.
It's just slow, a bit aimless, and the end is frustrating (they were over budget, had to stop)

...

The main character of D83 is really sympathetic, imo. Everyone he cared about was trying to screw him over in some way. His cunt slut fiance/baby momma, his mom approving of his fiance cucking him and helping the guy that cucked him, his aunt using him, his father not bothering to tell him who he is while he puts him in danger, etc. The guy never got a break.

Also forgot to mention at least Mr. Robot starts soon. At least that's decent.

...

well, the point was that the system was against him. His family turned against him because of one visit from the government.
His gf was a whore tho.

this one is bettter.
biggest mindfuck I've seen in year.

tells the story of the RAF, the german armed left-wing activists.
esp. Ulrike Meinhof, from film student to n°1 public enemy
chilling

I don't know this one.
Bookmarked, Frenchbro.

Recommend more nice euroshows please. I've already watched Bron|Broen, Berlin Alexanderplatz, D83, Borgen, Lilyhammer, and Forbrydelsen.

pretty good

Vampyr

Yes. You don't get them because we speak European in them.

Jean-Gabriel Périot worked 9 years on german archives, the best ones included in the film.
(like when Rainer Werner Fassbinder discusses violence and dictature with his old mother, heated debate)

my face when I learnt the truth about the Cannes Film Festival.
After the war, the USA pushed this on us, including the right to show as many films as they wanted (I think other countries were limited to one)
De Gaulle refused the airbases, but accepted Cannes.

(yw to correct the details)

crois-tu qu'ils l'ont fait?

Black Mirror
unconnected, ~50 minute movies about everything that's holy. Watch the first episode (just for the meme potential)

Occupied
Norway ends it's Oil industry and Russia invades.

Orphan Black is decent.

The Killing (Kommissarin Lund)
Good Thriller

I don't know many french/southern europe movies/shows.

ask me for what kind of film you like and I'll answer you. Lot's of good stuff produced here (especially in UK/France but not strictly)

any nice robbery/thriller you recall?

Been posting this in all those threads, hope you saw it now.
French film by Julie Gavras?, from an italian book.
This film, that an American made me discover here, is a total UFO...

Story of a small girl who resents her rich parents for deciding to change their life to help a distraught uncle, back in Franco's spain.

(correct me if I'm wrong)

It's literally the pros and cons of capitalism and "group spirit" in the daily family life dimension. For example, one family enforces taboos (sex, the past...), while the other does not. The little girl prefers the former (she feels more secure), but the one thing that bothers her is why are there things that one shouldn't say? Made me crack up at this point.

I assume you've seen all of Guy Richies films which basically fill that niche..? Feels kind of low effort tho. Fugg, I have one on the top of my head I can't think of the name tho (Parisian.) Really fun film.

Did you see Victoria? German film so I'm guessing "yes". But that's a seriously sick film (especially technically speaking) if you/others reading this bred haven't.

Cassandra's dream?, with colin farrell and Owen MacGregor (Woody Allen)

THank you, you are a nice person with good taste.

We're not European, fuck off

Snatch?

what about

I didnt see Victoria yet. But I will now, bookmarked.
:3 no homo? Gib some American Insider shows. I like Dramedy like Shameless desu.
rated

getting Hundstage and Black Mirror

thx

>Shameless
>American

Nice pick, unfortunately Anglos lose the original title, which would translate to "It happened in your neighborhood"
I'm pretty sure they did that poster to cash on the success of Jan Kounen's Doberman.

>Shameless UK is good

Shameless US is one of the few adaptations of a UK show where the US version is better. Season 4 > 2 > 1 > 3 > 5 = 6 = shit

not just that, but yeah, also lock stock and a load of others. not really my cup of tea but it sounded like the genre he was after.

do watch it. It's a seriously great movie. all shot in one take (e.g. one camera) which really adds to the atmosphere. I might say this as a Londonfag (was set in Berlin) but I really feel that film right there is the """European""" identity. Like anyone could relate to it.

No, the office is literally the only example of that ever in the history of mankind. And even that is debatable depending on taste.

KYS.

Spoiler: I don't really like shameless but caught some of the earlier stuff when recovering from an injury and neet-tier before the days of Sup Forums.

Mad Men is the best show ever made (inb4 soap opera, nothing happens, etc.) and has plenty of funny moments to go along with the drama. Dead Like Me is a great dark comedy drama that was canceled before its time despite phenomenal ratings (it had the highest rated season premiere on Showtime until Shameless US premiered 7 years later).

Tbh the only thing Shameless UK does as well as Shameless US is Frank. Both actors are amazing. Also US doesn't have Paddy.

Nah.
1=2=3=4>5>6
I liked how they kept the "wow you managed to fuck up worse" mentality up to these point.
It climaxed at season 4 and went down quickly, sadly.
I will
Shameless UK isnt bad, don't get me wrong.
I still prefer the American one. That's pretty rare.

>Dead Like Me
that's a good one. germanbro just needs to know to avoid the shitty direct to dvd movie

I'll have a look, even though I'm not a fan of operas.
If you want dark comedy try The Strain

it's not a soap opera

I see, just read the descritpion.

We'll I'm off to bed, luckily I don't have to work on a monday.
Probably hosting this thread again, I got like a dozen recommendations and like a few british shitposts.

Good night lads.

nite enjoy day off
