German language

Why is this language so freaking difficult?
Is there a way I can make it easier or more enjoyable to learn?

I find German pretty difficult
All words look the same and confusing, and pronunsiation is not easy

Put some sandals and socks while studing German

+drink beer

alle Wörter sehen gleich aus, ist klar...

Aussprache ist nicht wichtig, du musst nur den Asylantrag ausfüllen können!

find a german girlfriend :)
Sei einfach DU SELBST!!!!!

Well at least you try to learn it before you drop yourself into our wellfare system

Give up senpai and go for French. I'm more confident in my skills after six months of French classes than I was after 4 years of German classes. If you know English and Spanish, French is a cake walk.

> and pronunsiation is not easy
It's pretty straightforward though. What exactly do you mean?

>pronunsiation is not easy
>go for French
German is as straightforward as you can get

This desu. For example English is much more difficult a language.

Chaim is right. French is much more difficult to pronounce when compared to German. Then again op is a native Spanish speaker so it's probably reversed for him/her.

> Then again op is a native Spanish speaker so it's probably reversed for him/her.
Really? As a native German speaker I consider Spanish much easier to pronounce than French.

That is what I meant in a ways. You like me are a native "Germanic" speaker. Spanish is much easier for us to pronounce then French, despite Germans and French being border buddies. However for a native "Romance" speaker like op, he might find French easier to pronounce. Just my opinion.

I do find German pronunciation slightly easier just because it's more straightforward, but I was talking more from a grammatical sense. Syntactically and grammatically, French is very similar to Spanish. Also French and Spanish are both romance languages as well, so a lot of the vocabulary is easier remember. Pronunciation is only difficult in French because of all the rules and the exceptions to those rules. For a native Spanish speaker, German is harder to pronounce because of all the foreign sounds like the -r and both the -ch's.

> German is harder to pronounce because of all the foreign sounds like the -r and both the -ch's.
The ach-sound already exists in Spanish and nobody cares if your r is rolled or not. And the ich-sound is easy.

It's easy as pie if you know latin and english

German is stylistically and grammatically the most Latinate of all the living languages in Europe.

Also,

>"it's easy if you know a much harder dead language that nobody knows"

It's compulsory to learn Latin in Italian's liceo (read: High School).
Ancient Greek is compulsory _as well_ if you choose the classical version of the liceo.

he's complaining about german being hard, how the fuck would he know latin?
also, who the fuck speaks latin anyway?

Ari soli enujta ko lia ti ren—la do, la mervonololo fäbil 13...

>him/her.
them... THEM!

>how the fuck would he know latin?
I don't know if in your country you study latin or not. I'm not surprised that in the US of A they do not study it, probably my hopes in Mexico were too high as well
>who the fuck speaks latin anyway?
the motherfucking Pope
It's the official language in the Holy See
There are ATMs in Latin too

jesus christ, off by one
I'm going to commit sudoku, good bye

I thought the liceos were only the elite high schools.

Medieval Latin is best Latin

Imperator rex Graecorum,
Minas spernens paganorum,
Auro sumpto thesaurorum
Parat sumptus armatorum
Ayos o theos athanathos,
Ysma sather yskyros!
Miserere kyrios,
Salva tuos famulos!

Some Greek mixed in for good measure

dafuq is this?

Sprichst du mal etwas Deutsch dann, großer Junge

Ich liebe einfach brasilianische Schlampen

Which is the easiest Romanic language to learn from English, especially in terms of grammar? Stuff like French is easy but it's always the grammar that fucks me

...

>Medieval Latin is best Latin
medieval latin is a chaotic mess, it was written by non-native speakers who werent good at latin.

>all words look the same
Are you retarded?
>Rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübertragungsgesetz
>Donaudampfschifffahrtselektrizitätenhauptbetriebswerkbauunterbeamtengesellschaft
Do you see the difference?

>pronunsiation is not easy
Maybe you should start by improving the spelling of your English first...
You can learn speaking German by simply reading it. This is one of its strengths. It's impossible in English and French.
Cases and suffixes are not that difficult to learn and the sentence structure is similar to English. The only thing that might be difficult to learn are articles, but only if you're doing it wrong from the beginning on.

It's a meme that German is difficult and ugly.
