Austrian German sounds okay, but you're all thinking of Swiss German, Austrian German, Bavarian German, and Berlin German. But there's a fifth one in the Hessen/Baden-Württemburg/Rheinland-Pfalz area, and it's beautiful. It has none of the harshness of the other German dialects. It's very soft.

I lived in Germany. When I say "Dialects", I moreso mean accents, even though there are a few differences ("Grüss Gott" compared to "Hi!", if I remember correctly). Anyways, regardless of dialect, your accents in the northern and eastern parts of the country are ugly.

Thanks. I'll share my secret with you: It's easier to do it unintentionally (but obviously with the intention going in; forget that intention once you start). What you do is you put your honest opinion, but you make sure that you also add in a lot of arbitrary items with which you're unfamiliar. That way parts of it seems sane, and parts of it seems retarded. In this way, it lends credence to itself being true since most trolls make the entire thing ridiculous or just put one thing out of place.

Well I'm not sure if Italy is similar to Poland in this regard, but when someone says they're from a farming town here - they usually mean they're from a town in the countryside with a population of about 10 to 20k where they speak nothing like people from the countryside do. it's not like that, people speak with their own regional accent, if you meet two guys, one from Turin and the other from the countryside around the Area, they will both speak with Piemontese accent, maybe they'll use tdifferent words but the accent is the same, and if anything changes I highly doubt a foreigner would be able to detect that.

That definitely applies to the US. People who speak with a southern or western accent are often automatically disregarded or ignored in intellectual conversations. Ironically, Texas has one of the highest average IQs in the nation and California has one of the lowest, but watch how often Californians will use baby speech when describing things to a person with a clear Texas accent. Foreign accents immediately make people sounds smarter in the US, too.

Last time I'm going to try to describe it to you: It doesn't matter what the dialect is, as there are some clear differences in pronunciation between metropolitan areas like Naples and Rome and the rest of the country. For instance, I work with a bunch of Napoli immigrants, and I spent about a week in Rome. The Italian I can hear coming from these people sounds much more harsh than the Italian coming from Italian tourists or immigrants that I would hear in southern Germany. The few times I struck conversations with these types, they would claim to be from smaller towns or areas outside of the big cities.
I really don't care what you think of that.

In Poland we don't really have people that speak with different accents so you can usually tell if someone is from a small village and couldn't go to some school (doesn't happen anymore though since the goverment will have busses take villagers to local towns with schools, so usually only older people have this issue with not learning how to pronounce correctly as children).
