We aren't in NATO. We are allies and are in ANZUS (though US hasn't been fulfilling their ANZUS obligations since the 80s since we told them and their ships to piss off)

We mainly just do peacekeeping stuff. I think that if shit hits the fan with New Zealand, Australia and the UK would come and help us.
As for ANZACS, yes they exist. Some of the original soldiers that fought back in Gallipoli in WWI can be seen at the dawn ANZAC Day memorial services.
Even some of the old Turkish veterans are present among NZ and Aussie veterans.
It's sad, because they're all dying off.

We cooperated with the Aussie army in Afghanistan (And with the US/UK). Both our armies always assist when there's some disaster in the Pacific Islands as well.
