I've been wondering, do Croatians hate Norwegians (or tourists in general) coming to your country living large with our money?

I started thinking about this while being down there, because it struck me that we actually spent over 7000 kunas per day down there, not including the hotel, which is more than a month's salary for most Croatians. I was hoping the people who talked to us didn't only smile to be polite, while secretly hating us.

why would we? croatians are generally curious people and you will have to tell your life story to everyone if you move here

if you build a shitty house right smack in the middle of their village they might hate you for ruining their nice village with an eyesore (a lot of them live off tourism)
they will probably consider you exotic, mascot and will take special care with you as a foreigner from cultured europe (if you were from Romania you would get a bit less welcoming treatment but still friendly)
or if they are islanders they will just look at you from across their stone fence suspiciously (Brač especially) the first few months and then behave like previously stated (islanders are kinda weird and dislike crowds)

if you are a serb or a bosniak than just spend a lot of money (helps economy) and don't cause trouble

Varaždin comes to mind, Čakovec, Karlovac, Samobor, Bjelovar, Križevci... have not traveled that much to the north or the east so that is most I can tell you
continental part is very live in the winter and autumn and coastal part in the summer
if you visit Zagreb now it's a ghostown - everybody left for the coastline and on vacations

Don't listen to the shills, Zagreb is a nice city. Just don't go to Novi Zagreb, it's a ghetto shithole with commie blocks. Every city has its ghetto so just stick to the center, North and eventually Maksimir and you'll have a great time. Zagreb is in fact generally safe, especially in the summer when it's practically empty. I'd recommend seeing Zrinjevac, the main square, taking a trip to Sljeme, visiting Maksimir Park, the botanical garden is also very nice and certainly don't miss Gornji grad, the old part of the city. If you want nightclubs and sluts take a trip around Jarun Lake, there's a dozen clubs there and you can also swim and shit.
