Is it possible to move to Spain and find an okay job there only knowing English? Well, English and my native, meme Spurdospeak. I'm open to learning Spanish, obviously, meanwhile.
Also what areas would you recommend for a foreigner? I was thinking of going somewhere north, as scorching heat and semi-deserts don't mix well with Eastern Euros.
Carson Young
fuck spain
Gabriel King
>only knowing English >spain must be a fucking joke
frog
Brayden Brooks
Oh yes Viktor, you can pick potatoes all day long under 40° and the sun, for 400€. That's a great job.
Justin Barnes
Francoise s'il vous plait.
extremely rude
Josiah Martin
>find an okay job there
Lel.
>only knowing English?
Megalel.
Grayson Smith
You can give lessons as a job pretty easily if you've got a very high level of English. I had friends who did that while learning Spanish, Granada is probably the best city for this
Julian Miller
>Granada
Full of leftist anti-establishment groups and Gypsies. But very nice city.
Juan Edwards
But you all speak English. Surely the rest of your country does too?
Good heavens no. The only thing I hate more than kids is teaching.
Levi Nelson
I wouldn't count on it. Also eastern european immigrants usually do low tier jobs here.
Landon Richardson
I lived one year there, it's the best place I've ever been to, and I travelled.
Alexander Murphy
wtf I'm a college educated individual who speaks 2 languages, not some lowly gypsy Alejandro.
Oliver Morgan
>Good heavens no. The only thing I hate more than kids is teaching
You can always try to work in youth hostel, but knowing only English and an irrelevant language will make it hard
Grayson Gomez
>Spain >Find a job
Nathan Gonzalez
>But you all speak English. Surely the rest of your country does too?
The vast majority of Spaniards over 40 years does not speak English at all. Young people speak very very basic English.
Even british tourist speak Spanish here because no one understands them if they speak English.
Kevin Turner
I don't know, that's what most of them do. Not speaking spanish makes you pretty much unemployable anyway to be honest.
Connor Nguyen
I was actually quite surprised by how good is the average young Spaniard English. And usually everything on the coast is made for the convenience of brits on holliday so English speaking staff is the rule there
Eli Collins
>I was actually quite surprised by how good is the average young Spaniard English.
Really, in Granada? Seems things are changing fast then.
Isaac Ramirez
yea just learn spanish m8 im learning it too right now it's not so bad
Asher Lewis
if you go one block away from tourist areas you need to know spanish, pretty much
im not hating but spain is definitely one of the most monolingual countries in europe
Jayden Davis
>even considering moving to spain
Are you portuguese or romanian gypsy?
Evan Rodriguez
>who speaks 2 languages
TWO WHOLE LANGUAGES? Amazing, please move to spain right away.
Parker Turner
>I don't know, that's what most of them do. Not speaking spanish makes you pretty much unemployable anyway to be honest.
I seriously hope you are distorting facts because this triggered me really hard
Don't you have any international companies in Spain? Like in Hungary, even if you speak only English, you can get hired to work in at British Telecom or T-mobile since they have a bunch of service centers here.
John Brooks
Everywhere I've been ( mostly the south ), I think it's because of some necessity to have a B2 level in English to have the bachelor, and the unemployment crisis as well of course
Jeremiah Rodriguez
i think you might be bias cause french people cant speak english to save their lives either
Carson Peterson
Old Spaniards usually don't speak a word of English, but the youngs do quite well. And Americans are definitely worse than Spaniards
Ryder Bailey
I don't know, but why would they hire you over someone who speaks spanish? And I think technically you are even required to speak spanish to live here.
Charles Jones
Eastern euro here who speaks B2 Spanish, do I have better chances?
Ian Sullivan
we don't have a practical reason to learn another language though, it is just a hobby for anglos
Nathaniel Hughes
Yeah, move to germany or ireland instead.
Dominic Sullivan
Well you do have one, speaking Chinese or Russian would be quite handy even for a burger. But french people feel ( felt ? ) the same way "Everyone should speak French, I don't have to make any efforts, my language is the best anyway"
Adam Martin
welcome to the hell
Christopher Cruz
>Spain >Job anyway fuck off we're full
Austin Reed
>I think technically you are even required to speak spanish to live here.
Last time I looked both of our countries were part of the EU. That means we can go wherever we please, lol. No language knowledge required.
Hunter Edwards
I think you guys don't understand how bad the youth unemployment really is here. If someone has already offered you a job here sure, but to come here just to "look for a job"? That's nonsense, you won't find anything almost surely.
Ethan Stewart
those languages would be useful but it would also put you in a very specific career path. i would have no desire to do business in mainland china.
i don't think english is the best, or that everyone should speak it. as a matter of fact i think it's a meh language. just happens to be my native language and the lingua franca. no doubt if french was the world language anglos would learn it from age five in school.
William Johnson
>I think you guys don't understand how bad the youth unemployment really is here.
It can't be worse than Eastern Europe.
Elijah Peterson
I know people who work in Spain but in the tourism industry. Isn´t it getting at least a bit better nowadays?
Luke Scott
Looking for a Spanish Bro to help me learn Spanish till November.
Brody Cooper
I've been offered 4 jobs without looking for them in a year, as a teacher, as a driver for a hotel and as staff in a hostel ( 2 times)
Aiden Jenkins
Why?
Zachary Brooks
I am applying at a job that requires me to speak B1/2 Level of Spanish.
I took three years of Spanish during Highschool but didn't learn a damn thing (still I got the B1 qualification on paper) which is why I am working on it now.
I picked up duolingo, a vocabulary box and will take courses starting next month.
Adrian Kelly
I knew the people though, I met them during my stay, but I know loads of people who found jobs easily as teachers or In the tourist industry
Isaiah Clark
>It can't be worse than Eastern Europe. spain is worse lsd, literally a fucking unemployment desert and half spain has the same HDI than Eastern europe so yes .
Jack Wright
46% of people under 24 years are unemployed.
Anthony White
When do you finish uni? We finish at 23 so this stat doesn't look that scary from my perspective.
Camden Perry
You couldn't dissuade me. I still want to go and live in Spain ;_;
Christopher Roberts
>Granada >Andalusia morocco 2.0 with 30% unemployment.poverty,literally they look like than moroccans,corruption,drugs, teenagers drop out school ,ignorants,bullfighting,etc
i live in basque country and i think that they are africa.
Michael Ramirez
they look like the same *
Landon Perez
Yes, but only if you work in a British club colony. They only really need English speakers there
Matthew Reed
Not those anons, but for as much as I love Spain, you'd be throwing your precious time and energy away if you just come here without a proper contract signed and without Spanish. Don't be stupid, go anywhere else that has a healthy employment pool. I don't know how it is precisely, but I don't think you are allowed -legally speaking. to teach English unless you are either native or have an English degree. It's true you might find contractors that won't ask you to be native, but you might get in trouble.
Sebastian Smith
I don't know to be honest. Feel free to come, but you'll definitely have to learn spanish if you intend to live here.
Ian Watson
FFS WHERE IS MY SPANISH BRO TO HELP ME LEARN YOUR FUCKING LANGUAGE
Luke Morgan
He could teach english in a private academy, but I don't know what academy would hire an hungarian to teach english when they have a lot of spaniards with degrees in english and even americans and english to choose.
Asher Evans
Have you ever studied spanish before?
Colton Green
I took three years of Spanish in Highschool but did not learn a damn thing.
Now I've been learning vocabulary and did duolingo for a little more than a week.
Nolan Thompson
>Monolingual There are other languages spoken in Spain (Catalan, Basque and Galician).
Owen Gomez
If you didn't learn a thing how do you expect to get your Spanish up to the employers requirement in such a short time? Can you keep a conversation, even if written?
Camden Martin
no
Yes, you can find jobs without problems with a good english knowledge. If you are interested in big international companies, BBVA, Santander and Inditex might be your best choices.
Adam Sanders
>if you didn't learn a thing
Because I didn't care about your damn language (which is an abomination - it is so so bad) and had no motivation to put in any work.
Three months is a decent enough time to get into a language if you put in enough work (as I do obviously).
> Can you keep a conversation, even if written?
Not quite there yet.
Zachary Clark
No seas maleducado so cabrón. El chaval le pone actitud y con esfuerzo sí que puede aprender de forma más o menos rápida.
Cameron Fisher
>Spanish is an abomination Says the German.
Josiah Parker
¿Maleducado? ¿Pero qué me estás contando? Se lo he preguntado con toda la sinceridad del mundo. So, you'd learn a language you call "an abomination" simply because you want to get a job? Why not just getting a different job? Fucking Godamn guiris and their retarded ways.
Dylan Diaz
I can be your bro. Give me your email or something.
Elijah Jones
>So, you'd learn a language you call "an abomination" simply because you want to get a job? Why not just getting a different job? Fucking Godamn guiris and their retarded ways.
Because working for the Foreign Ministry as a Civil Servant is chill as fuck maybe?
Great income, fun job, getting to live abroad with absolute job security.
>tfw talking to a Spanish poster you always need to expect him to be out of work
Brandon Gomez
>Because working for the Foreign Ministry as a Civil Servant is chill as fuck maybe? >Great income, fun job, getting to live abroad with absolute job security. So, in other words, you cannot do better and you'll just cuck your mind into speaking a language you have no respect for while living a country that speaks that very language? That's quite a pathetic live choice, if you ask me. Just stay in Germany and try to find something better that doesn't require Spanish. >out of work It's the 28th of July, and I'm a student, what work am I supposed to do?
Sebastian Roberts
t.manolo
Sup Forums esta lleno de manolos con otras banderas ,poco a poco te das cuenta
Nicholas Reed
>you cannot do better
What would be better than doing a job I love?
I picked Spanish during High school and that's why I need to learn it now - because my school reports say that I do speak Spanish on B1/2 level.. No cucking involved
Gavin Robinson
>What would be better than doing a job I love? A job you love is one you have to learn "an abomination" of a language? >no cucking involved Oh, there is quite a lot of it, specially because even after this conversation, you'll go out of your way to please your bosses requirements to learn Spanish instead of trying to find something in the same field that only asks for German.
Joseph Butler
Hostia, ¿dónde estás tú?
3 languages speaker dentist unable to find something in Spain here, OP.
