At the start of the war it was said that Japanese gunners were so accurate they could drop a shell in the back of your pocket from a few miles out.
Their quality decreased greatly towards the end.
And our ships gained computer controlled targeting systems along with rounds that had proximity switches

What do they teach Europeans in school about the Pacific Theater?
Almost nothing, we just name the big battles.
Us? Nothing, cause who cares.
You mean that minor side-theater of WW2? Not really.

Meh, its just that we have an entire century to fit in 1 year so we mainly go over what concerns us the most.
Please tell me why british navy was so incompetent in ww2?
it took numerous carriers and battleships even to sink the Bismarck and later the Scharnhorst(which was a battlecruiser)
no one gives a shit about your boats. Everyone has boats. Post anime. This is the only thing you are known for.
Honestly? It makes me feel extremely proud as a Japanese, and makes me think how stupid Americans are.
>hiroshima
>americans deploy the most powerful device ever created - that has the power of splitting the atom - against japanese city
>60 years later, the same city is fully recovered and is again a modern hub
>detroit
>extremely rich city - the automobile city
>japanese start making cars and compete with americans
>due to extremely higher quality and lower prices of japanese cars, US car manufacturers go out of businesses and detroit collapses over itself
>the humble japanese labor is far more destructive than the most powerful of american weapons
How does THAT make you feel?
> the pakipoo weaboo
That America should make themselves great again

British navy is pretty much the reason what Britain could hold on.
And about why they could do more havoc in northern sea.. It was the era of warplanes, ships were getting slightly obsolete, at least the battleships.
pretty good
The Japanese Navy might not have been very successful, but they sure had the most beautiful ships.
BTW, if you're interested in that kind of stuff, I can recommend the book "Requiem for Battleship Yamato", it's an account of the final battle of the Yamato by an officer who served on its bridge. It's pretty damn horrifying, the kind of stuff you don't get told about naval combat.
The US wanted Japan to grow so that Russia didn't win over the region economically, and later so that the US could gain a valuable trading partner as well as a place to drop military bases and deploy troops from. Japan is greatest Asian ally and economic success in one country is good for the other.
smelly netouyo
You want the US to nuke that place again to see who's city is really better?
