This thread is for the discussion of NyaaPantsu (pantsu.cat), a free (FOSS) torrent indexer, and other nyaa alternatives. The aim of this project is to write a fully featured nyaa.se replacement in golang that anyone will be able to deploy locally or remotely.

So what's the difference between pantsu and nyaa? I see that everyone uploads there and it gets scraped and also from anidex, but I can't access that site because of an endless loading loop. Is pantsu just an aggregator or is it a site that people actually upload to? I don't mind using the site since it works well and looks much better. It's just that it doesn't show up in a search for nyaa and I just found out about it from a backup page link and found a Sup Forums post on the FAQ so I came here. Anyway what I wanted to know is what can this site do that nyaa.si cant, and the other way around.

Pantsu is as much as a nyaa replacement as .si is, in fact it was created a few days earlier As you already observed pantsu scrapes contents that it does not have from anidex and nyaa.si, and also get it's own (exclusive) content, so pantsu has more content than both of those although not considerably more In terms of features Pantsu has quite a lot more: user notification, ability to follow users, noticeably more search options (nyaa.pantsu.cat/search?refine=1, whereas nyaa.si only has category & remakes/trusted and user search), torrent languages (and language search), i don't doubt i'm missing quite a few things The only thing Nyaa.si has more is uploaders and users, since Nyaa.si is where most people ended up going when searching for a Nyaa replacement, but that is irrelevent since Pantsu scrapes torrents it does not have from Nyaa.si anyway It's made in bootstrap too so as you've observed their website unfortunately looks incredibly bland (like any bootstrap websites that doesn't have a good designed behind it), resulting in pantsu having a quite better look (and better themes but also much more freedom for them, e.g. the classic theme that turns pantsu into nyaa.se)
Nyaa.si really doesn't do anything better than pantsu other than user support (and in the past uptime).
Also yeah pantsu unfortunately doesn't pop up on Nyaa searchs, but it does pop up on Sukebei search (and is at the top, while nyaa.si doesn't pop up while it used to) The website isn't that popular among non-Japanese users, but is very popular among Japanese ones (which are mostly interested in porn explaining the Sukebei popularity)

Yes but as you can see mods need to delete the comments one by one and can't sort them, which is not very effective in case of severe spam.

Someone noticed that images could be included in comment so he went on github to see the URL for torrent, comment & user deletions, and pasted it as the images src Linking it here and calling for mods was an attempt to get them to load these images, triggering the deletion of anything he wanted I instantly noticed it though and got yiiT to remove it

none of the original nyaa domains point anywhere legit. nyaa.eu was bought by a scammer, nyaatorrents.info was pawned off too, and I think Nyaa still owns nyaa.se but it doesn't point anywhere. Notably the registrar sold off the other two domains to malicious actors before they were back to general availability, because they're fucking scum.
