Remember the last time this was relevant?
Yea me neither.
RX 480
>Mfw I grabbed a RX570 Nitro+ two weeks before the CryptoMining boom.
Mfw it can play any game I throw at it at 1080p 60fps Ultra.
It was very relevant when it was at MSRP, which didn't last long after the 500 series dropped.
I'd recommend a 8GB 580 over a 6GB 1060 if they were at the same price (which they once were)
>it can play any game I throw at it at 1080p 60fps Ultra.
no, it can't
Well, if anything the Witcher 3 at ultra (with memeworks disabled) does, and I consider it to be a good benchmark for a graphically loaded game
>bought for 220 usd before the mining hoard
>sold it to a miner for 300 usd
>got me a second hand 980 ti
hehehehehe
>Mfw it can play any game I throw at it at 1080p 60fps Ultra.
You mean medium or lower High settings.
I've got one and it's just fine for 1008p
I'm feeling the CPU bottleneck though, having CPU's that bench at the single thread as much as laptop CPU's is not nice
um... I have a 1060 6g and it's pretty much ballpark same performance, there is nothing I can toss at it 1080p that has been below 60 for gpu related reasons.
If you want to include games that allow you to put in engine braking settings like gta5, then fine you can be right but you are retarded
Remember last time OP didn't suck cocks? Yea, me neither.
It would appear that you are butthurt for some reason.
I use mine on a 4k screen, but the only taxing thing I do is play doom 2016
it's pretty gr8
>1008p
hipster
I got one recently for 200 CAD which I think is a steal, 8gb model. Still not very impressed though.
It can play most games at 1080p ultra with a few settings on high, have to bring a lot of games to high or medium high to get at least 60fps locked though.
this is pretty much how i do, i just grab a previous gen vidya card for cheap just because I don't play super demanding games, kinda like buying a car previously owned for only a year
Games are optimized for high settings not ultra. Playing at ultra is not the intended resolution and will give oyu minimal visual gains at the expense of lost framerate.
Grabbed rx 480 8gb oc nitro+ model for 250 bucks on February. I guess it was worth it as 8gb oc model can battle with 1060?
>buying anything faster/more expensive (pre-kikehike) than a 470/480/570/580 or a 1060
>ishygddt
once something is as fast a Vega 64/1070 for $200 it will be time to upgrade again
So, next gen?
Can play most games at medium @ 144fps
Vulkan support (extra nice since mpv supports it)
No noise, little power requirements.
Will use until it breaks.
7970 lasted ages. I feel like nvidia cards just smash and right now. When the Vegas with 1tb nvme come out that will shake things up a bit, but there's so much different stuff coming out next year .
>I can play any game on ultra at 60fps except for the ones I can't but those don't count because they're unoptimised! ;^)
Every time.
Witcher 3 is an amazing game but its over 2 years old now. And I don't believe you have stable 60 fps.
>May 19, 2015
I got my Sapphire RX480 for 170€.
Really can't complain, as it's quite low power for my small case and runs fine.
This.
At 1080p, it runs easily over 60 FPS on High/Ultra mix.
On my FreeSync monitor, capping the FPS to 75 and never going under 60, it plays smooth as butter.
You don't see the 1080p part I guess.
60 FPS is a breeze to maintain for even that old card at the highest settings.
Good thing I don't have any problems running GTA V at 60 FPS.
If we count Ultra without enabling extended graphics settings and just normal graphics.
But even my 980 box has problems when those are enabled at the same resolution.
