How the fuck do normies break their tech quickly? normalfag cycle for phones: >scratched up as hell screen by month 1 >cracked by month 5 >rendered useless by overbloating with pointless apps by month 8 >still updates everything including os >phone bricked by year 1
>meanwhile had my 4S from the year it came out until last year when it auto-updated and got bricked
Jeremiah Wilson
Seriously, I've seen so many people with cracked screens. Do people not know to buy cases/not drop their shit?
Nathan Turner
they dont love electronics like we do
Logan Brown
It's not even electronics for normies, I still have a shit-ton of stuff from years ago that still works.
Luke Butler
They leave the house
Luke Price
To answer OP's question: Notice how many 'normies' who break their screens have no SCREEN PROTECTORS? Glass tempered screen protectors are a godsend on most smartphones (not for any Samsung S6 model and up since those glass things are waiting to crack at any time, most of the post-2014 iPhone models).
Either way, most are too incompetent to get a screen protector or a case (oh no it looks ugly!, get a good looking one jeez).
Technology + tech-illiterates = worse technology
Mindblown
P.S: Upgrade AFTER 1 YEAR is a marketing ploy for them and they fall for the meme (except for LG phones since a 3 year old G3 died in bootloop so avoid them).
Isaac Miller
I have literally never seen an iPhone without a cracked screen in the wild.
David Allen
By not taking care of it. This goes for pretty much everything they own, not just electronics.
I've only broken my phone screens twice. One time I was drunk and got mad and threw it at a wall, and the other time I fell down some outdoor stairs that had ice on them.
Jackson Rogers
my g4 bootlooped after 1 year so i guess theyre doing an even better job than anyone else with planned obsolescence
Blake Gomez
HAHA OP IS SUCH A VIRIGN AMIRITE LOLOLOL. >protip : not talking to normies doesn't mean you don't leave the house to work.
Cameron Allen
normies are amazed that my s2 is scratch free and still working, and I didn't even try to take special care of it. Just rarely drop it keep it in my pocket
Christopher Richardson
Only phone I ever broke was the Nexus 4. It slid off a slight slope of a pool table due to its glass back.
Joseph Phillips
It's not even an issue of screen protectors. So many people forget that their phones are expensive as shit, yet they simply don't give it the protection that they would any other $200+ product.
When you actually understand that you're carrying an expensive item with you, you'll naturally be more careful. You'll keep your phone away more often; you'll make sure that wherever it's stored, it is safe from getting mucked up (by keys, coins, the multitude of things that might be in a woman's purse, etc.).
Julian Ross
I've had my note 3 for over 3 years, got it's first crack about a month and a half ago, spread a bit but still quite usable. Still no idea how it happened.
Luis Foster
I drop my two year old phone all the time because I'm a clumsy piece of shit, and it doesn't even have an scratch. They just have shit glass phones.
Dominic Nguyen
>expensive Most fags just get one under contract with their phone. Its just an addon to their phone bill and they don't notice a thing
Isaac Parker
No they are just stupid and treat their expensive items like shit.
Nolan Jones
I've noticed this as well. Like every time I get on public transport there is always one person there using a phone with a massive crack on the screen
Hunter Parker
This, they don't see something like a smartphone as a neat piece of tech, only a rectangle that they can get a narcissistic facebook fix with. Its also why apple and Samsung stopped marketing the device and instead shifted to the software or gimmicks they have.
Connor Nguyen
>(except for LG phones since a 3 year old G3 died in bootloop so avoid them). >tfw G4 it's such a great phone otherwise, removeable batteries, nice camera, nice screen, and removeable batteries. I'd keep it for 10+ years even if I didn't have to live in paranoia of a timebomb.
Landon Rivera
So you've met my wife I see...
Michael Wood
I don't get it either. I've never used any kind of huge case or screen protector on my phones and other devices and have never cracked a screen.
I have broken multiple ereader screens though, those are fragile as fuck or at least were.
Gabriel Morgan
>glass screen protectors Literally meme garbage
Mason Bailey
they actually go out and do fun activities
they actually constantly use their phone to text and talk to their friends
all of this pose a higher risk of damaging their phone
while your virgin phone lies in your home dormant
Luke Jones
Agreed.
You're paying big bucks for some super high tech diamond-hard Ultra Gorilla Glass 17 screen with fancy coatings on it, and cover that up with a $5 piece of cheap car glass????
Brayden Nelson
The idea is that you scratch up the $5 car glass rather than the gazillion dollar screen.
Nathaniel Thompson
still missing the point, both on durability and clarity of the screen but anyways, there's always pic related as a case to protect the screen without gluing a cheap film of plastic on top.
Blake Walker
I broke my phone's screen after 18 months of scratch-free, pristine, caseless use by trying to answer it while carrying groceries in both hands. Screen didn't break on impact, only later when the pressure of the slightly dented aluminum edge and normal thermal fluctuations became too much for it. I'm replacing the screen myself this weekend, and bending the aluminum back so it doesn't happen again. $50 repair for the screen and some tools I don't already have. It's not just that normies can't take care of things, they also can't fix them, leading to replacement being their only option.
Owen Edwards
Lol /thread
Who cares do y'all not have jobs and freedom to replace a broken device? Lol
Easton Bell
>normie friend got piece of lettuce suck in phone >tried digging it out with fork >screen breaks and cracks everywhere You can't make this shit up.
Justin Lopez
>iPhone 2G >mfw anyway I think and got it down.
been dropping my phone a lot recently, though, all by accident. I can see why it happens, but the shame is the same.
a case with a flap should do me good, I think; preferably with cardholders + slit for money.
Elijah Brown
accidents happen, plus not everyone is in the market for cases since they're not fashionable anymore
David Bell
why is saturn so aesthetic
Connor Gomez
v20 here it's been in a case since the day I bought it slight scratching on the top of my screen protector but no damage otherwise
Cooper Garcia
i think the bigger, and more incomprehensible issue, is shattering
Kevin Rivera
Normies tend not to know how money works Why do you think the US has so many payday loan companies? Why do you think people get shit credit? It's not because they're JUST poor. It's because their poverty is self-inflicted.
Gabriel Murphy
>Upgrade AFTER 1 YEAR is a marketing ploy for them and they fall for the meme (except for LG phones since a 3 year old G3 died in bootloop so avoid them).
My 1.25 year old Nexus 5x just bootlooped and died on Monday. Fuck LG.
Jackson Jackson
You know how?
They go outside
Eli Martinez
i have tremors and drop/involuntarily throw things all the time
haven't dropped a phone on a hard surface yet, but someday that will be the fate of one
Xavier Morgan
I dopped my white edition Nexus 4 inside a toilet at a bar when I tried to put it back into my jeans to take a piss. It went fully submerged. I fished it out (didn't piss in there yet), cleaned it off and used it for another 2 years fine, bought a replacement and now I have it still around as a backup phone it runs latest Lineage OS fine, battery fine, screen fine. I upgraded to a cheap Nexus 5 for $75 which I've sat on dozens of times, dropped, wiped and reloaded rom, runs like new.
Chase Roberts
Yep, I keep my device like a precious gem, on the other hand normies seem to just toss their device around on a table and not show much care for it.
Leo Clark
Because she looks like she has downs. You should get yourself checked.
Eli Smith
>autists and 12 year olds ree in chorus Consumer electronics are consumables.
Dylan Edwards
OP is underage lmao
Nathaniel Long
They don't stay inside all day
Xavier Howard
Bought an S8+. Two days in the screen cracked. I was literally sitting at a loung that had those low chairs, the phone slipped out of my pocket and dropped and cracked.
Tyler Adams
Why on Earth are you buying a phone made by the government of South Korea and their cuck national company that covers up scandal after scandal?
Colton Brown
They get phones on contract. This makes the phone feel cheap(despite being way more expensive).
Oh those fucktards keep their phones in back pocket of their pants. Begging to be stolen, dropped or sat upon.
We get two year, mandatory, warranty. >laughs in eu
John Rivera
It's pretty.
Dominic Long
The iPhone is much prettier and doesn't come with a second OS worth of bloat.
Blake Wood
Bought an S8+. It's still fine.
Zachary Morris
Fucking this. I work at IT support and this indian woman dropped her iPhone. We got it fixed and now exactly one month later she comes and tells me she dropped it again and the screen broke.
Samsung J5 here we go. Won't inform her asap when the phone is fixed so she'll learn.
Daniel Williams
I drop my phone all the fucking time but the only time I've broken my screen was when I was changing clothes and accidentally stepped on it.
Nathan Johnson
That will do it, especially if you're wearing heels.
Daniel Fisher
>lose your phone and credit cards at once
I like those folding cases though, using them as a stand is p neat.
Evan Edwards
>only broken my phone screens twice I'm 31 and I remember dropping my phones about 4 or 5 times in my whole life. All mild stuff, never broke any screen.
Cooper Hernandez
>buy new iphone for gf >breaks screen in a month >have it fixed >breaks it again >have it fixed again >now wants the new iphone
why did I fall for the gf meme
Grayson Campbell
by going outside, i know this is a huge foreign concept for you basement dwellers who spend friday nights inside... pathetic
sometimes shit just gets out of control, one time i even ran over my phone with a vehicle in my driveway on the way to work. one time i even smashed the screen because i was making out with 2 hot chicks at the same time
Noah Parker
Your masturbatory fantasies don't need to include the destruction of phones, pham
Samuel Bailey
Because they go to parties /thread
Sebastian Perez
...
Daniel Roberts
im not a fan of those wallet + phone combos but combining the phone with money means people loose their shit alot less IMHO
i have only broken my iphone screen twice in 10 years since the first one ( 1 3g 4 4s 5s 6s ) once was when i fell through broken scaffolding exploring an old building and the other was when it fell out my unzipped jacket p[ocket while ridind at 60kmh downhill
its wierd but i have subconciously trained myself to treat the phone like a body part even when blind drunk - i am always thinking if its ok .... it just means too much and is irreplacable since its a 6s jailbroken on 9.2.1
James Richardson
>Being this much of an Apple shill
Cameron Nguyen
>Buying GF a fucking iToy Your fault amigo. If the bitch is demanding a new iPhone, and won't settle for anything else, dump her ASAP.
Thomas Perez
>hating an American company so much he'll go and buy a product made by a foreign country to increase our trade deficit with them
Brody Walker
I still use my wildfire S from 2011.
John Lee
I've been shitfaced numerous times but never broke a phone. I did however lose my laptop one time, still don't know what happened to it
Brayden Morales
I never used a case until I got an iPhone 6S. The Android phones I used before then had a nice, rugged plastic backside, that would prevent the phone from slipping from your hand. I managed to keep the iPhone looking like new without a case or screen protector for seven months, then I dropped it twice in one week. Lesson learned.
Hudson Gutierrez
>basing your decisions on country of origin, not on quality >implying that not all electronics are made in China anyways.
My wildfire s started to turn off by itself if I press lightly on back cover.
I still have my z2, just few scratches on screen after all those years.
Levi Sullivan
I mean, I could just keep complaining to Google/LG and get it repaired/replaced, but they would have just replaced it with another 5x that will eventually suffer the same death. I ended up just getting a different phone altogether.
(Went through something similar many years ago with a Dell XPS M1330 - it was manufactured in such a way that failure was inevitable no matter how many times you sent it back to be fixed. At a certain point, I just bit the bullet of replacing it altogether, because I didn't want to be screwed if I was somewhere where I really needed a working laptop).
Chase Price
>sometimes shit just gets out of control >ran over my phone with a vehicle Retard
Andrew Brooks
Check between your mattress and boxspring, I've hidden mine there once to keep the cia/fbi from getting my anime
Liam Gonzalez
alcohol!
Hudson Johnson
>cheap film of plastic >still using plastic screen protectors in tyool 2017
Austin Morris
from all the sex they're having
Luis Peterson
if you have a job you're a normie
David Hernandez
I drop my caseless phone all the time and the thing still works
my phones old though so the manufacturing is probably better
Daniel Stewart
I always cringe when I see someone complaining because their iPhone charger cable has split or something. Bunch of neanderthals ripping that shit out of the plug I guess. I've had mine 2-3 years and still looks the same as the day I bought it
Leo Reyes
Probably. Newer phone specs keep getting better, and stuff keeps getting faster, but I guess they're also turning into fragile shit as well.
Dylan Martin
My girlfriend drops her phone literally every day. (or rather, places it on surfaces where its clear its going to fall onto the floor)
If I get angry about that, apparently thats me being an asshole. But its her money, so whatever.
Carter Gomez
I break one of these around every 6 months. A cell phone doesn't stand a chance.
Also, I don't run cases because to get any significant amount of protection, it'll make the phone so large it won't fit in my pockets.
Jeremiah Morris
I've owned smartphones for about 7 years now (I'm 20) and I've never done anything worse that scratch a screen kinda bad. For reference, I was sliding my phone into my pocket and the screen rubbed against a metal part of my pants and scratched it. Noticeable, but only from the right angles.
How normies break their shit, I'll never know.
Angel Sanders
I dunno. I have one and after multiple drops my screen is okay. The glass also feels nicer than a plastic screen protector.
Lucas Edwards
the fuck are you doing to break a vice so often? are you trying to bending rails on it? or do you torque it with a pipe?
Isaiah Cook
>removable battery is now a notable feature Since when everything became iphone?
Ethan Bennett
> mommy and daddy buys you a new shiny iphone because you cry > you break it because you don't care > you cry > they buy you a new one
Well, duh OP. Point is, not everyone has to save money, give things up for it, or just work for them. I mean if you had the same parenting or just no brain to actually figure out how much work hours you do to own one of these, you would not care either.
Gavin Hughes
Used to work at geek squad and it fucking amazed me too. I didn't even have a case on my phone and I'd show them and ask them how they got their phone like it was. I didn't last too long at the job.
Jace Hall
Normalfags don't use cases because 'muh thinness'
Normalfags also cannot afford to replace or repair their devices
John Nelson
>still updates everything including os What is wrong here?
David Reed
normies go to the flea market and buy the cheapest $10 case they could find. it can't protect shit.
Aaron Roberts
Not very impressive, but I got my phone 8 months ago. Still as fast, no scratches or damage whatsoever.
Leo Richardson
4th year with my Galaxy S5, dropped sometimes but the screen is still as good as new. Usually when someone's phone get cracks or buttons falling apart, usually a phone case wasn't in place. I have a cheap gel phone case but no screen protectors and yet to crack anything. Maybe one day, who knows?
Brody Wilson
I have no idea.
I have dropped my phones while cycling numerous times. They have bounced down the road and been driven over by other bicycles.
I never use cases and never had a broken screen.
Kayden Hill
I regularly play around with my S5 neo, toss it around, up and down, swing it around like I'm fucking pen spinning and drop it every once in a while and you have to look very closely to see the scratches despite me not having a screen protector How the fuck do people break these things, I'm about as careless and a klutz as possible
Michael Wright
Put my iPhone 6 in an otter box the day I got it. Phone is still in mint condition after 3 years later. Normies fall for the "aesthetics" meme so much that they don't buy cases. This is perfect for tech companies because they make a ton of money off warranties.
Logan Reed
I've had my iPod Touch for years unprotected, and have hardly a scratch on it. It's all about being aware of your devices.
Angel Parker
"literally" "meme" le ebin smug animegirl is le most ebin argument amirite Xddd
scratch your phone, now do it with the "meme garbage glass" installed, see the difference?
Dominic Barnes
i work in the navy on a guided missile cruiser. naturally my phone is exposed to hazards from shock, oil, grease, abrasions, and radar. i was working in an escape trunk last night and dropped my new iphone 7 about 10 ft to a steel deck. thankfully mmy tempered glass andd case protected it aside from some dings in the after market case
Gavin James
OC of that comment that answered OP's question.
Smug anime girl users are as bad as tripfags so ignore them.
Cameron Robinson
I've had my Nexus 5 for 4 years now, no case on it, no screen protector, and then I dropped it once while on the bus last year. The screen is cracked but everything else works fine still. All it takes is one careless moment. Never dropped the thing before ever.
