Seriously this. Get an apk modded with adaway (pretty sure xda had a relatively recent version of yt) then patch it with lucky patcher. Benefits of yt red w/o the subscription.

They did something in the last version and now every 512MB ram device cant play videos.They all work fine with new pipe though.

Like many people, I used to get around this by accessing YouTube through Safari or whatever browser, and then simply resume background play in control center. This was especially useful to me, as I listened to some satellite radio shows for free through YouTube, and I don't want my goddamn screen on for a 3-hour video.

Unfortunately, it seems that Google patched this workaround at some point and now they hide what should be a basic feature behind a fucking paywall. Dirty cunts...

It seems to work in chrome(desktop version request). Playlists, lock screen play skip, even not loading the page just the video. What do they mean by this "feature"
