Sometimes if you buy a laptop off of ebay they re-install windows but keep the old files.
Delete the folder called windows.old (in C:) if that's the case.
I had to do that once for a laptop I bought that was running like shit, turns out that's the reason why.

You can use sequoiaview to find out.
Unfortunately the makers (TUe, a Dutch university) no longer have a working download link on their site so you'll need to go through some shit site.
But it's really good and fast.
If you download the zip version you don't have to install anything.
Use winderstat and check what takes the most room
