Feelings are probably just things that grow out of the instincts and are deeply linked.
And if you see like that, you could say that most AIs already have primitive feelings that grow out of the artificial instincts you impose on em (the goals you set with the scores etc..).
But those aren't humanlike instincts or feelings, which could make an human level AI be something really fucking hard to understand if you didn't mimicked a human 1:1.
Just to theorize more and show what i mean, imagine that google did this huge neural network that is basically on the level of a human, but the basic needs of this AI are of running thru all the collected data and find whatever google asks of it, even if the AI have to extrapolate this data.
This AI would have several weird feelings grew out of this basic need, as you have from your basic need of survival, such as fear, anxiety and hate.
It would not have hate or fear, it would have the feeling of "need more data", and "extrapolate harder", but most likely some form of happiness when it manages to deliver a fuckton of correct data and fullfill its basic goal, reinforcing that it should do it more.
