EPP discount for new ThinkPads (USA & Canada only, usually 15%+ off):
pastebin.com/JVwVGVTW

my question from the previous thread got passed over so will ask again.

What are the recommendations for an Expresscard USB 3.0 unit? I've heard its best to get single or double USB port versions but it seems like there are many to avoid.

Jesus, 33% discount on a P51. Now that's a discount.

this is preferably for the X220T, otherwise i've also got the T430 I wouldn't mind adding on to.

First for 2nd best Thinkpad!

Thank you user!

T60 or T61 ?
x220 or x230 ?
W500 or W520 ?

>Different width of hinges
Triggers my OCD

W500. Look at it closely near the bottom of the screen.

Bottom corner reads W500.

Yep, now look at the bezels and be even more triggered. ;)

T60
x220
W500

>irregular bezel width
Holy shit, I thought that was due to the angle at which the pic was clicked.

Recently got a T60 (pic related) got up to 2GiB RAM, might get an SSD. Are there any other upgrades I can do? Mobo replacement and such

Oh why T60 instead of T61 ?

Forgot pic

...

Oh I misunderstood.

T60
X220
W500

I would also say X200 >X201 > X220.

Just purchased a t420 for general use.
What are some of the first things I should do to it?
It has an ssd and 8gb of ram. I plan to put artix on it but I can't seem to get the writen usb to boot.

What's the maximum you would pay for this computer?
W520 - 128 GB SSD - 8GB RAM - NVIDIA Quadro 1000M - 1920 x 1080

What is the best thinkpad for gayming?

>W520
>500GB HD
>16GB RAM
>Intel Core i7-2760QM
>nVidia Quadro

Seller's asking $309.99 for it. Yay, or nay?

x200 is better than x220 ?

>X200 >X201 > X220

Get out

define "better"

I paid $260 for my W520 but I thought it had a FHD screen.
>1 TB HDD, 16 GM Ram QUADRO 1000, 1600x900 screen

better than

C O M F Y

x200t owner here. Used a x220 in college, courtesy of my University's ThinkPad program. I wouldn't necessarily call the x200 a better machine all around. But it certainly does have its charm.
I love my new-used x200t. Sure it has a Core 2 Duo, but the Penryn microprocessor is surprisingly fiesty even after all these years. It's the perfect machine for on-the-go computing and I lug it around everywhere I go. Got the thing for, like, $60 in near-perfect condition, too.
Max out the RAM and slap inside an SSD and you've got a perfectly capable (and comfy) machine for cheap.

If it didn't have a dGPU it'd be perfect

>wifi cable
There are kids who grew up without a physical cable to provide internet. Jesus christ I feel old

Also I have an X200T! There is something great about doing everything you want on a decently old machine. I've been learning to program in C with it and I love it. I showed this girl who has a Macbook Air all of the things it could do and she was blown away; the 2-in-1 features like the screen rotation and digitizer really impress non-tech normies. She tried using the clit and thought it was really weird. And it being an X200 model there was no trackpad that she could switch to. The X200T is truly GOAT tier compared to so many other models.

Libreboot nigguh

x200 need external flasher ?
Better i want mean which buy

Buy a X200 and an External Flasher

Why you doesn't like wifi ?

Eh why ?

...

wifi cable XD

Please tell me if this is an awful choice, the E560?

I need a good, reliable machine, well built, silent and cool, mostly for sshing remotely to my servers

i5/8gb/ssd/intelHD should suffice

I will run Linux on it

>inb4 let me interject

Please help me Sup Forumsods of technology
I need to buy something already built and available, no time for tinkering

I need a comfy laptop to write articles. I want to buy a used ThinkPad, I don't care about the screen size, I just don't want to kill myself while It has a browser and Word in execution. I don't need a big HDD too. What would be the best option for $200? And for $300?

x200 over x220 ?
T61 can be flashed like T60 ?
You got x200 and x220 ?

As large as that is, I think you could get a better screen. You may not care about the screen resolution but at that price and size, you could find something better spec'd. Probably even a refurbed T420/30 could do what you want at half the price. If you really need thin though, an X220/30 will definitely be powerful enough for what you want to do. Look around on eBay, you can find full systems ezpz.

Thank you

why does it have a bar/QR code?
what's the expiration date for?

I have an x200 tablet and it's comfy as fuck. Reasons why I like it:
>no trackpad
every modern computer i've typed on, except a mac, I've moved the cursor to something while typing because of hand placement. No problem with the x200T
>screen
yeah it's only 1280x800 but it is IPS which has amazing viewing angles. Plus you can flip and rotate the screen and draw on it if you need to plan something but prefer to hand write it out. This is nice for marking up PDF files and exporting them.

JAN 2038 clean your eyes

why not get a T530?

Guys I got my t440s today.
On the bright side it came with a 4gb ram module, which wasn't listed.
On the downside they took the internal battery out.

My biggest problem is the listing said they got it to bios, but with the broken screen I can't tell.

I tried hooking up both display port and vga, but neither shows a display. What am I doing wrong?

read my post again. clean your eyes

Yep, and T61 cannot be Librebooted I believe. I own a X200 and X220T, not a X220.

You could just disable it.

Coreboot is better!

hey, i never used any laptop with less than 15 inches of screen and im planning on buying a X240. Are they confortable to use for code and documentation?

>why does it have a bar/QR code?
Scanning it takes you to the sellers website, patchdynamics.net

Lenovo Thinkpad Edge E135
is a used worth €100?

Any thinkpad made in the last 12 years can do that. You don't need a $300 machine. I am typing this from a 6 year old x220 I just got for $84. It can run basically any modern software but new demanding video games. I like the x series because it's pretty small and lightweight compared to my old monster laptop.

Just read the buyers guide in the OP.

Please help.
Can't get bios on external monitor.
Do I need to press a key?

I'm failing hard here. Wish I never even bought the thing.

I'm too busy to clean the ass of your wife

W530 or 8770w
He's been asking the same question for the past 5 threads. He's obviously baiting
Just give him straight answer maybe he'll go away

What do you prefer between x200, x220 and x220t ?

Try hooking it up to a display, and connecting an external keyboard as well. After booting it, close the lid and try accessing the BIOS. It should be either f1 or f12. Are you getting the BIOS beep?

And holy shit. Got it to work.
Needed a keyboard and the mailman just delivered it.

The left touchpad button of my T60p just broke.
Where can I find a cheap replacement in germany?

Check the "security" tab for the anti theft shit, it might be enabled

You need a keyboard ? You got one ?
What is that ?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LoJack_for_Laptops

Just disabled them.

The keyboard just got delivered.
Running diagnostics.

Bumping my question from the previous thread

I would play with it more but the charger doesn't come until Monday.

Also missing screws......REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRREEEEEEEERRRRREEEEEEEEERREREREEEEEERR

What's the specs?

Strange, my 64GB SDXC works fine in my W520
Tried reformatting it to FAT32?

When I try to. Windows 10 throws me an error
It's currently reformatted to exFAT, and the files I copied to it from another computer are still there

Have you installed the ricoh driver from lenovos page?

yes

Then I don't know, maybe try wiping it completely and format it in another card reader to FAT32 and try if it still doesn't work

A guy is offering me his Elitebook 2570p for 200 euros. Mint condition however, It doesn't have a battery.
Should I pull the trigger?

What's with the obsession over cats?

Can't you faggots live like normal people?

For some reason, I can't find the picture of Bill Gates using a Thinkpad. I want to save it, and use it anytime any Apple fag tries to act cute with me. Was that picture photoshopped? Or Bill Gates legitimately appreciates Thinkpads?

Have you read the review?
notebookcheck.net/Review-HP-Elitebook-2570p-B6Q10EA-Notebook.82051.0.html

>he thinks his life is "normal" and everything else that differs isn't

Yes, yes I have.
My main issue is whether it is recommended to buy it with a cheap chinese battery because the original ones are too expensive imo

Wallpaper?

Man the Lenovo site is so shit. Anyone know which docking stations are compatible with the P50?
Also, generally, would you say they're worth the money?

Autism and crushing loneliness, relieved by bonding with animals.

They aren't called "Normies" for no reason.

>Wish I never even bought the thing.
Don't say that! The experience you'll get from it is something you can't buy. In the end, you'll cherish these little things, tell about it to all your friends, and they'll probably roll their eyes cuz they don't know the nectar of life.

Also, you are doing a service to the world by reviving a thinkpad. Sorry I wasn't here, lemme know if you need more help.

never had a lenovo before. moved to another country, thinking of getting a t420( i like this one more bc of the keyboard and bc of the number) or the t430, what would you guys reccomend? im also gonna be throwing a egpu set up in order to play vydias. what's my best option?

Just ignore the specs and get the cheapest one that looks good and isn't bios locked.
Everything as in every thing can be upgraded.

If you go with thirty, it's gonna hurty.

Get a T420.

I'm thinking of getting a x201.
Seller wants 60€ + 6€ shipping
comes with docking station, and bag. Condition is good except:
Harddrive is only half of its original size, because of faulty sectors. Wifi is broken.
I would replace wifi, harddrive and maybe the battery.
Is it worth it? I never owned a thinkpad before, only dell stuff. Im planning to primarily use it for programming, browsing, preparing presentations and usual office stuff.

Redpill me on the E570 Sup Forums

Looks amazing

...

Charge your machine senpai.

Looking to get an x200. Looking at a system that has a Centrino. Would it have a better battery life compared to a C2D? Obviously won't be as powerful but all I care about is battery life.

When finished or now?

Let's go when finished:
>i5 4300
>Samsung Evo 250gb SSD
>12gb RAM
>6 cell battery 72 whr + 3 cell internal

T61p owner here, It depends on how much you desire to spend on the machine, for instance you could even look up for the T70 motherboard fan-project made by the 51nb, or you could try to FrankenPad your T60 if you have a tight budget.
In conclusion, how much do you plan to spend?

x61t owners shill me how good it is

I'm getting mine next Wednesday and can't wait.
