If you want help:
>State the budget & currency for your build
>List your uses, e.g. Gaming, Video Editing, VM Work
>For monitors, try to include information like response time, refresh rate, resolution, and size

CPUs:
>A8-9600 for extremely light gaming if you can't afford a dedicated GPU
>G4560/G4600 for non-gaming (light tasks) or bare minimum gaming builds with a dedicated graphics card
>R3 1200 - Budget builds (best with OC + fast RAM)
>i3 8100 - Better budget CPU; extra cost of the currently available Z mobos lessens the value of the CPU
>R5 1600 / i5 8400 - Great gaming or multithreaded use CPUs
>R7 / Used Xeon / Threadripper / i7 - Heavy Multi-Tasking / VM Work / Mixed use
>i7 8700K - 144Hz gaming and higher, out of stock pretty much every due to paper launch.

RAM:
>Check your Mobo's QVL before buying RAM or look for user reports
>Ryzen CPUs benefit a lot from high speed RAM; 3000-3200 MHz is ideal

GPUs:
Crypto-Currency miners have driven GPU prices up (particularly Radeon)
1080p
>GTX 1050Ti and 3GB 1060 are the only reasonably priced cards; 6GB 1060 or 4Gb 580 if you want to overpay a little
>GTX 1070 if you're looking for very high (100+) framerates and you have a CPU and monitor to match
1440p
>GTX 1070 / 1080 are standard choices; currently overpriced
>GTX 1080Ti if you're looking for very high (100+) framerates and you have a CPU and monitor to match
4K
>GTX 1080Ti

General:
>Consider a 240GB or larger SSD.
>Consider a Wireless Network Adapter, either 2.4 or 5GHz

>tfw you will never solve a computer problem with your cute kawai waifu

buy this yes or no

is there a 1440p equal for a not too insane price? can my 1070 even drive 1440p at 144hz?

>tfw you will never solve a computer problem with your numbah 1 husbando

Should i upgrade my cpu/mobo or the graphics card?

gpu wothout a doubt i got rid of m8ne when it fonally started to show it couldn't keep up anymore

graphics card

gpu for sure

>dual curved monitors
just no

i mean if they have flat but the same otherwise i would happily get those but that is the only compromise i will make

can i get source of the ad, i looked at msi's youtube channel but i couldnt find anything similar

doing a build in the near future.
>2011 v3
>32GB quad channel DDR4
>2 SSDs in raid 0
>big ass case with room for all my HDDs

im wondering what i should do in terms of GPU. is it better to get a 1060 now and then buy another card in 2 or 3 years from the same price bracket or should i just pay double now and get a 1080?

i still use 1080p displays so i dont see the point in getting a super high end card.

Can the 1050ti handle 1080p @ 144 on medium settings?
Or should i just go for the 1070/1080?

No.
Get a 1080 if you can afford it.

1070s are nice i think 1080 might be alightly overkill

the 1050ti would choke i am afraid

1060 will run any modern game and any game for the next few years at 1080p fine

Alternatively wait for the 1070ti, essentially a cheaper 1080 which is more reasonable for your setup

>not factoring in 144hz

dont bother with the low tier gpu's

ok thats good to know.

i figure GPUs are easier to upgrade down the road so i might aswell splash out on the CPU and RAM for now and get a new card and displays down the road when 4k is more mainstream (and cheap).

The fuck is that webm

I assume 60hz unless otherwise stated

>G4560/G4600 for non-gaming

hahahhahaha fuck off, these are great budget gaming cpus.

Dual cores are on their way out. They used to be okay for gaming but most modern games struggle, especially if you have other programs running in the back (like a chat program or a web browser)

What exactly is the difference between the OEM and retail version of windows?
Also is buying a key from one of these sites safe or am I better off buying from microsoft?

Just bought pic related. Not sure what to expect.

1070
3770k 4.4ghz
newegg.com/Product/9SIAB9H4GR9321

what is its refresh rate?

That bitch isn't really playing but just mashing the bottom part of the keyboard.

Pure cringe.

this is from the same company you recommend to everyone

60

No idea about pricing or 1070 performance, but i think you should pull the trigger anyway and let us know how you like them. They look like nice monitors

Thanks for all the suggestions this has actually been really useful.
Think im going to wait and get the 1070ti since it might come out at the end of this month.

i think i will but gotta wait till tax season and i will be montioring till then to see what changes or id soemthing changes with 1440p equivilants with price if they drop to the same levels as these i will probabky change to them

Is the 1050 ti an upgrade from a 770? I'm gonna upgrade my i5 2500 to an i7 7600. Should I get a 1050 ti now or wait some months and save money to get a better video card?

Not really, the 1050Ti is roughly the same performance as the 960, which the same as the 760. It wouldn't really be worth it unless you need something cooler with better power consumption. You would need 1060 or higher to notice the difference.

About to pull the trigger
Which one do I get? (not in USD)

Asus - looks good all-around however that extra ROG tax can go into something like a larger SSD instead

Gigabyte - Heard they quality control is shit. Personally used one of their boards years ago and it had utter shit BIOS.

MSI - Never used them before.

msi is chinese garbage

All of them are Taiwanker companies and are made in Chyna

The ROG tax is worth it since it doesn't say gaming on it like the other faggot meme boards

literally all of them are made in China

You know what ROG stands for, right?

I choose to believe it means something else.

Expect to lower quality or turn down resolution to 1440p, at least in newer games.

Just finished assembling the tower, but my monitor keeps saying no signal despite everything being plugged in. Got both VGA and DVI cables screwed in, even went and connected the HDMI just for good measure but no matter what port I choose I get "no signal"

I know the graphics card is connected, I can see the fan spinning and it definitely clicked the lock into place.

I don't really play any newer games.

Path of Exile, TERA, CS:GO, Dirty Bomb, and some other MMORPGs as well as PS2 emulated games.

I already have a QNIX 27" 1440p display. Planning to vesa mount them together, not sure how it's going to turn out with 2 displays of different resolutions.

How
did I do Sup Forums

>Just finished assembling the tower
I would try helping you, but you write like absolute faggot.

I've had this problem before.
Make sure everything is plugged in, take out your video card and RAM and put them in again.
Also why would you use VGA or DVI?

Good deal desu

Read the full sentence, retard. Some people don't build gaming PCs

No such thing as an i7 7600. Anyway you're looking for the i5 8400
Get a GTX 1060

You bought 4K too early. Should have gotten a nice 1440p monitor, because that's perfect for 27". Cancel your order

Out of all the cringe in that video, you noticed the standard cringe subject that everyone else is desensitized to

1070 is fine but you should get VA panels
If it's too much for your budget just get a pair of 1080p VA panels

Do you have Ryzen or Intel?

it was just what came with the monitor, I figured plugging all 3 in and flipping between inputs would help. I'll try taking out the RAM but I'm pretty sure I have them in the right spots

Ryzen CPU and msi motherboard

Try a different PCIe slot. Also make sure you have the 6+2 pin power cable plugged into the graphics card. What is your monitor's native resolution?

they actually are VA panels

always asrock.

Oh, I thought they were 1440p. 27" is a little to large for 1080p at monitor viewing distances. I'd go with the 24" models

You might consider this one to save some money
newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA2W06DX4775

is my pc dying? got my first PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA BSOD. I think im gonna back shit up incase my hard drives are dying or something.

All assrock z370 boards have only 5 USB type-A ports in the back panel which isn't enough for me

the fact that 5 usb ports isn't enough for you makes you literally retarded.

1920x1080, just switched the graphics card to a different slot and still don't have any connection to the monitor. The power cable has a 2 pin separate plug that I didn't see a space for so I left it dangling, am I blind or do some graphics cards not have a spot for it.

t. peripheralet

oh im usually 3 to 5 feet away from my monitors

I want to marry the MSI girl!

The B350 Pro Carbon is shilled a lot here, mostly because it's great. The X370 Pro Carbon has heat issues, don't buy it.

I already have a QNIX QX2710 27" 1440p 96hz.
What do you mean by too early?

I was worried that 27" might be too small for 4K.

I know this wasn't what you were talking about but it reminds me of this

>tfw you will never have a cute asian gf. only an ugly white girlfriend

I could marry her too!

I'd buy more msi products if they had cute animus on their products

Power connector is fine. You are plugging the monitor directly into the graphics card, right?

Refresh rate isn't high enough and the res requires frequent upgrades to the next top of the line graphics card. You need a 1080Ti to power it properly

>playing racing games with a keyboard

I play dmc4 with a keyboard.

Even if I don't play any AAAs?

Why isnt epyc avaliable unless its through shitty prebuilts? even if the yield is low surely its not THAT low?

What do you guys think of this board?

item.jd.com/17983717471.html

It's the only board with over 8 USB type A back ports I could find after some deep digging, the vrm looks okayish too

However I can't fucking read Chinese

the yield on epyc isn't low at all. it's just 4 Ryzen dies on a PCB with security features added in. Therefore, yields are identical to Ryzen.

4GB or 8GB RX 580 for GTAV at 1080p?

doesn't matter, they perform identically. In the current market, the 4GB isn't TOO far overpriced for its performance. But the 8GB is way overpriced.

rx vega 56, Costs about the same as 8gb 580

rx 580 way cheaper in australia, $339 for 4gb 580, cheapest vega is $729

Looking for a minimalist case in terms of "aesthetics".
Any suggestion?

Currently considering Define R5.
>tfw Meshify C have no no-window option

>cheapest vega is $729
ouch, being strayan must suck.

Bought a brand new Seagate barracuda 500gb for 20 buckerino was it a steal or nah? Same guy was selling a used 750GB hitachi drive.

I know this feel

It's ok I guess
Not exactly great but not a blatant scam

Has anyone else ever had the issue of "Drivers not found" when attempting to install windows on a new build? I just put one together for my brother, and I've been having nothing but problems trying to install windows. I've tried 2 isos, 2 hard drives, and nothing seems to wanna work. Could it be my usb? Any suggestions of what to try?

Should I have gotten the 750GB one?

>au.pcpartpicker.com/user/JoshCa/saved/ycshqs
>1440p 60hz gaming
>first build
Thoughts?

>tfw msi mobo updates for ryzen
>just agesa updated

Should i buy this shappire nitro+ rx 580 8gb for 360$CAD or wait for black friday?

No, a brand new drive is less risky.
It just isn't too great a deal because 500GB isn't that much

It probably won't go on sale, so if you are going to buy, buy now.

cho is a 6 at best in korea.

what the fuck is your obsession with usb ports?

1060 6G

Are aftermarket cards rarely on big sales? The minimum it's been according to pcpartpicker is 350$ at launch. I figured 10$ more was alright.

Well, obviously not if you're playing 2D pixel games.

4GB

CAn't install Win7 on Ryzen or Kaby Lake / Coffee Lake without work arounds, check OP

Get 144Hz VA panel
Get 240GB SSD

Probably not worth that much. If it's more expensive than a 1060 6GB it's not worth it

I was also wondering if paying 360$ (410$ with taxes) was really worth it for that model of 580. It looks very nice and silent, but why not just get a gigabyte model that can go on sale for 300$ (345$ with taxes)?

I got a 6gb 1060 for 335, I say go for it, gpu prices are rising again.

Is the price of this 1080 around normal?
amazon.com/gp/product/B01GLYD7MG/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

so then why is it impossible to buy
