>no sd card slot
>no removable battery
>no headphone jack
It's 2017.
Can we stop complaining about this shit now?
>no sd card slot
>no removable battery
>no headphone jack
It's 2017.
Can we stop complaining about this shit now?
No.
Can YOU???
Still pining for a "real" keyboard?
You havent been happy since the rotary dial was dropped.
>no usb-c port
iPhones have literally the worst external features.
cause fuck including things that people want and a lot of people typically use?
Notice how the thing they have in common is that if you remove them you can sell the user more stuff.
>no buy
Why don't they have two usb-c ports?
>It's 2017.
>Can we stop complaining about this shit now?
I don't know of the $CURRENT_YEAR variable affect people needs and use of a phone.
also this
having no headphone jack is fucking ludicrous. One port for digital one for analogue it is convenient and works well in the real world splitting the taint between them making an unholy mess of shit and piss hasn't helped anyone I am sure no one held an iPhone 6 and said oh boy really wish this was a mm thinner and needs a fucking dongle to function.
>list of changes that were objectively bad
>"lel why u complaining??"
>current year fallacy
>2017
>no SD card slot
I'm not bothered but I can see why others would be
>No removable battery
Easy to replace battery or can put a fully charged one in instead of carrying around charger batteries.
>no headphone jack
Well you know, I don't want to have to carry a dongle around everywhere to listen to music, or to buy new headphones that are only compatible with my phone.. Not to mention you can't charge / listen to audio at the same time.
>>Still pining for a "real" keyboard?
I unironically am. I don't see why you people see removing useful features as progress.
>SD CARD
WHAT YEAR IS IT?!.jpeg
>Can we stop complaining about this shit now?
No, fuck off.
>Posting from my S5 with an extended battery and a 200gb microsd that stores my music that I play every day in various vehicles equipped with only an aux cord.
It's 2017 and I'd like to have an upgrade path?
Or maybe I'll just use my S5 forever
>no sd card slot
How else will I upgrade my phone's storage?
>no removable battery
How else will I achieve 10 second recharges and easy as fuck fixes when the batteries die (as in stop working)?
>no headphone jack
This I don't really use but it's such a basic feature I disregard at any phone that lacks it.
LG V20 looks like the final smartphone
Failing that, the Note 4 is a minor upgrade from the S5 isn't it?
fpbp
>no sd card slot
most phones comes with ridiculous amount of internal storage nowadays, like 16GB at minimum for the cheapest ones. i think that's a lot for a mobile phone. most things i store on my phone are text files, a folder with about 200 songs, a few hundreds of pictures, and a few games, and that's not even half of my 16GB storage.
>no removable battery
so?
>no headphone jack
oh yeah, the "charge my phone while listening to music at the same time" meme, right? come on, who the fuck charges the phone or transfer data via cable and listen to music at the same time? goddammit...
>It's 2017.
fuck yeah it is.
>Can we stop complaining about this shit now?
please!
Nah, they're both too big. I don't want to go over 5 inches with a case on.
No because being locked to limited storage space sucks.
Yes because powerbanks are a thing.
No because wireless headphones sound shit for the money they cost.
>who the fuck charges the phone or transfer data via cable and listen to music at the same time?
I do. And I can with my phone.
Why would I want my phone to be tethered to a powerbank for hours when I could just pop in a fully charged battery?
i picked an s5 up just as a throwaway to get by on for a while after losing my note still using it a year later great phone
>with ridiculous amount of internal storage nowadays, like 16GB
....
download more you're a disgrace
Yeah, heaven forbid wanting any more data on your phone than the OS itself and an app or two.
FPBP
I bought the pixel 2 and their headphones. AMA
>Standards that have been around for decades and even hundreds of years
>A fruit removed them and somehow its now brave
No.
Get a load of this retard!
I like sd so I can move data to my new phone. What the fuck?
So you like renting stuff for 1200 bucks?
>How else will I upgrade my phone's storage?
Most phones have enough storage anyway. 32gb is the absolute minimum in flagships now. Or, use usb-otg, streaming/cloud storage. You know, like everyone else?
>How else will I achieve 10 second recharges and easy as fuck fixes when the batteries die (as in stop working)?
Non removable batteries mean you can fit larger batteries in in the first place, so you don't need to charge as much. Batteries degrade slower too, and very few people keep a phone longer than 4 years or so. Also, you can't get proper waterproofing with a removable battery without having absolute shit tier build quality (yes, the S5 has a shit build)
>This I don't really use but it's such a basic feature I disregard at any phone that lacks it.
Yep, that one's more valid. Time to bend over and take a deep breath though, because it's going to die like removable batteries.
That defeats the entire objective of removing the jack. Means it costs more to add in, still have to provide a dongle, less space internally and they can't sell you extra dongles for charging.
I gave up complaining about the lack of MicroSD card slots and removable batteries a long time ago because, for the most part, it doesn't really matter anymore, anyway. And it hasn't for a while.
But the lack of a headphone jack is unforgivable.
>ridiculous amount of internal storage
>like 16GB
Storagelets don't get to use the "current year" meme.
>so?
I like to keep my phones for a long time. I also always keep a spare battery on me.
>come on, who the fuck charges the phone or transfer data via cable and listen to music at the same time?
Me. I commute for ~30 hours a week, every trip involves sitting in a coach or train for >4 hours at a time. I spend that time either watching movies or browsing while listening to music. When the train/coach has an outlet or USB port, I need to charge the phone while using the jack. (And when it doesn't, I need the spare battery.)
> have pic related for three years now
> SD slot
> headphone jack
> decent headset in the box
> replacable (yup niggah) battery
I'm happy alright.
Don't forget spyware pre-installed, shit support, updates for less than a year
I'd still use my blackberry or n900 if I could get all the normie software for it and proper tls support. I'm faster with a hardware keyboard, but I grew up when T9 reigned, might just be that.
It's more or less a
Oneplus one, so I have pretty okay rom support, thank you.
> not blocking your phone from calling home
All of this is better than a samshit curved screen or a poverty lg light bleed special. I just want a note 3 with upgraded camera.
n900 was godphone
Not when these fucking modern batteries keep dying every other season and it costs roughly a middle class estate to replace it or just go for another phone brand new instead.
>Most phones have enough storage anyway
Enough isn't the issue, it's price/GB. I can buy a phone with base-model storage and add a micro SD card for less than the cost of the equivalent storage built into the phone itself. Even with the model with the highest storage capacity I can always have more by adding a microSD card.
>Or, use usb-otg
Yeah, carrying yet another device everywhere I go is totally a good solution.
>streaming/cloud storage.
Why would I pay more/month for additional data when I can just carry that data I'd be accessing remotely on my person?
>>Non removable batteries mean you can fit larger batteries in in the first place
No, they fucking don't. Even if they did, I'll still happily take a removable battery.
>Batteries degrade slower too
In other words, they still degrade.
>Also, you can't get proper waterproofing
I don't give a flying fuck about waterproofing, I've spent decades simply not getting electronics wet, I have no reason for that to change.
>Yep, that one's more valid
It's the least valid of the three.
>no sd card slot
>so we can charge an inflated price for the 256GB model
>no removable battery
>so we can ensure it won't last forever
>no headphone jack
>so we can sell you wireless earbuds
BRAVE
It's 2017 and your shitphone is still closer to 80's brickphones who also didn't have these basic features, sage.
Why would I buy a new phone that does less than my current phone?
