>'ryzen and coffee lake bringing 6+ cores to the mainstream means games will be coded to have good multi-threaded performance now!'
Is there a more uneducated and inane statement one could possibly make about a tech related subject?

"Video games aren't already coded for multiple cores"
"Ryzen CPU's are good".
I don't see screen tearing.
The only game I've played in the last 6 months is dwarf fortress, and your statement is true for that game.
"You don't need 2 cores, fast single core is best"
"You don't need 4 cores, fast 2 cores is best"
"You don't need 6 cores, fast 4 cores is best"
I actually see nothing wrong with the statement. I don't do gamedev but I am waiting for the days where at least 5 cores become the norm.
>The absolute state of intel shilling currently
What games have multithreaded graphics?
Keep up, grandpa. We /8c16t/ now
I have ryzen, dumbshit.

The 1090T came out over 7 years ago.
>Is there a more uneducated and inane statement one could possibly make about a tech related subject?
Yes
>"Ryzen performs better at 4K"
Whats the problem with that statement?
More cores is the only way to get more computing power so obviously it will go in this direction.
Cpus will have more cores and devs will optimize their code for parallelization
Pic related came out six years ago.
Yeah, the exact opposite of that. Games have been becoming much better-threaded for several years now, and Ryzen and Coffee Lake will only accelerate that further. The dumbshits on this board were unironically recommending the G3258 a few years ago for gaming, only for the first games that wouldn't even launch on 2c2t CPUs to arrive a few months later. Now we're at the point where even 4c4t CPUs are microstuttering piles of garbage.
Not all tasks can be effectively multithreaded, it isn't some magic bullet that makes things run faster.
This discussion has been going on since core2duo days and hertz over cores still remains more important. Shills think the only games that matter are brand new triple a.
>5ghz 2 core is better than 5ghz 6core
Both intel and ryzen reached a wall and it's ~5ghz and ~4ghz respectively. Depending on your bin you might get slightly better or slightly worse results, but going less cores will not let you get 6ghz all of sudden.
Coffee Lake is a thing now, so Intel shills will move on to
>You don't need 8 cores, fast 6 cores is best
