Why do Americans call this a truck? Makes no sense

Why do Americans call this a truck? Makes no sense.

What else are we supposed to call it? It's not a coupe, sedan, wagon, or van.

That's what it is. It's a truck. Calling it something else is incorrect.

Ute

It is not a truck

Its a pickup van

No it's a utility vehicle

that's a pickup truck

it's a Dodge

A truck and a ute are two different types of vehicles.

>truck
It's an American Pritschenwagen ("flatbed vehicle")

Technically we call it a pickup truck.

ur mums a utility vehicle

But that's wrong. Vans do not have open beds.

It isnt even a truck hahaha,
Why would you call a car a truck?

Cause they are manletz
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

It's not a car either. Cars do not have open beds. Do not post a photo of an El Camino, it is not a car.

A truck is any vehicle designed to transport cargo. It's a fucking truck.

i wish i could drive one of these on tiny yuro streets and crush those little shit boxes they drive

actually ute refers to all pickups in australian english, take toyota's australian website for example

the hilux is close to the typical american truck, but it's still refered to as a ute.

>A truck is any vehicle designed to transport cargo.

This is not true. Trucks are not vans, vans are not trucks.

Tractor Trailers aka Semi-trucks are only colloquially considered trucks.

Only in Australia, the US terms are the proper names for these machines when you are speaking globally.

meet me somewhere

Pickup

I know it seems rather autistic and anal retentive, but if you come to the US and mix up the terms truck and cars will be seen as a clueless foreigner. If you become defensive about the matter expect to make a poor impression.

I would say the same goes for an American traveling overseas: chill out and just get in the whatever-it-is.

>it's a make fun of american terms for no reason thread
Honestly what is so bad about calling that a pickup truck? There is nothing that makes that outrageous.

It looks like an SUV with flatbed. So FUV? (flatbed utility vehicle)
Not a truck though.

So this isn't a truck?
Tractor-trailers are hardly ever called just trucks.

This could casually be called a truck (and the driver a Truck Driver), but technically it's a van.

If you break it into two pieces of a trailer and engine unit it becomes a Tractor Trailer.

I call it a retard indicator since only retards that can't drive for shit have them

So what is a truck?

Dodge a shite. GM master race,

>So this isn't a truck?
No, it's a lorry.

Trucks usually have open beds and a good amount of ground clearance.

It's a pickup truck
