As far as I feel, 5% of students are otaku with high power level, and 20$ of them are hidden otaku or low power level otaku.

manga and anime are our culture, no one would assume you're otaku just because you read Shonen Jump comics like Naruto, One Piece, Hunter x Hunter etc. Though if you watch moe anime, you would be called otaku and looked down on.

Some of Junji Ito's stuff is geniunely scary, and some is just silly. But I guess all horror writers have that sort of inconsistency.
