If you had to, what language would you choose to replace English as the lingua franca?
You can only choose another language that isn't your own.

High-Icelandic.
Ancient Greek
>pick Danish

English English
Latin or its modern romance variations. Italian/Romanian are the closest. Beautiful phonetics, familiar latin alphabet, elegant grammar
Alternative choice: Middle-eastern languages: farsi, arabic etc. As repulsive as mudslimes are, its hard to deny that their writing is absolutely beautiful
Fuck this: Germanic aka my dog barks like that
Fuck this too: Asian languages. Fuck this overcomplicated, archaic bullshit with disgusting sounding words

Funnier at least. And also, we would be happy to learn Swedish instead of our pakkoruotsi-angst that we have now.
Esperanto is the correct answer.
Latin so then it will be a neutral language for everyone
Klingon

Esperanto
En la mondon venis nova sento,
Tra la mondo iras forta voko;
Per flugiloj de facila vento
Nun de loko flugu ĝi al loko.
Ne al glavo sangon soifanta
Ĝi la homan tiras familion:
Al la mond' eterne militanta
Ĝi promesas sanktan harmonion.
Sub la sankta signo de l' espero
Kolektiĝas pacaj batalantoj,
Kaj rapide kreskas la afero
Per laboro de la esperantoj.
Forte staras muroj de miljaroj
Inter la popoloj dividitaj;
Sed dissaltos la obstinaj baroj,
Per la sankta amo disbatitaj.
Sur neŭtrala lingva fundamento,
Komprenante unu la alian,
La popoloj faros en konsento
Unu grandan rondon familian.
Nia diligenta kolegaro
En laboro paca ne laciĝos,
Ĝis la bela sonĝo de l' homaro
Por eterna ben' efektiviĝos.
Pandunia
latin, duh.
"yes"
Aren't you supposed to be neutral ?
Latin, we're using it for science anyway.
Latin would work well as is already used in science.
Eesti :^)
American English.
1. Canadian English
2. British English

DUTCH
>people actually want a language as disgusting as french to be the next lingua franca
Le go fuque yourselfexque
Norwegian, for sure. Not that different from Swedish
Well, one of the reasons we are using it (and greek) for science is because we aren't using it for everyday talk. Makes it easy when you need to come up with new names for things
French
either toki pona or esperanto
