Is there any drawbacks to using HW decoding on windings? my stable mpv config with RX480 profile=opengl-hq opengl-backend=angle hwdec=d3d11va-copy video-sync=display-resample #interpolation #tscale=oversample
Thanks but I still get Levels: limited I set the Dynamic range through nvidia control panel to 0-255 but it's still stuck a limited
Owen Morris
Explain to a mpv newb why it's the best. On the frontend you can only see that it's extremely light, but I don't see much else to it unless someone explains it.
Leo Gomez
Awful. Even seiba is better.
Aaron Green
Maybe it's a stats.lua bug.
Nathaniel Sullivan
I don't think so, images display the full colour span and it's extremely noticeable I just got 16 captchas in a row trying to post this what the fuck

So I've been thinking of moving from MPC-HC to mpv for a while now but I am not sure where to start. Are there any quick-start guides out there or something that explains common settings you might want to edit?
Fuck you. Emiru is top-tier.
Ayden Diaz
Well the problem is that mpv has so many goddamn settings, it's almost all preference Depends on what kine of image you like, how fast your PC is, what media you're playing at the very least you can add this and see how it goes profile=gpu-hq
The video itself is limited range. Most TVs and content are, while most PC monitors aren't, so the range is expanded by the player.
Elijah Perez
Stupid...
Christopher Nguyen
why do you keep posting this? It's so limited. just use the manual which has all the options listed.
Nicholas Perry
What an incredibly insightful comment
Jonathan Fisher
So I just shouldn't worry about it?
Logan Cruz
I'd like to use spdif to my receiver, but it doesn't support aac.
I have audio-spdif=ac3,dts
does mpv have any ac3filter-like functionality?
Logan Gutierrez
Hmm OK. What I am mainly after are: >Decoder - I want to make sure decoding is handled by DXVA >Scaling algorithms. I wanna be able to compare the ones available and choose one I like. >Settings for screenshot capture. Quality and save location mostly. >Keybinds >Audio muxing. I have had issues with LAV trying to output 5.1 to my headphones so I want to always mix it to 2.1. >Maybe some subtitle settings. Preferred language and such.
No u.
Thanks, that's what I was looking for.
Gabriel Morgan
d3d11va is safe when you use it with ra_d3d11. It isn't safe if you're using it with angle since you'll get fucked when decoding 10bit content (angle will round it down to 8 bits). DXVA2 is not safe.
Now that haasn is dead, who will optimize the EWA kernel in mpv?
William Hughes
Thanks, looks like what I had in mind.
Jose Davis
You can find that all in the manual, look at the OP if you know what you're looking for you should be able to find most of it just by ctrl + fing in the manual
Jacob Sullivan
It needs optimizations?
Gavin Fisher
didn't recognize her in her anime form
Thomas Mitchell
what is wm4 trying to achieve with all those cache and seek commits?
Ryan Perry
He's depressed cause haasn left
Henry Long
Second haasn, yes.
Nathan Sanders
>implying he liked haasn
Camden Garcia
>not liking haasn How???
Colton Butler
not accepting his PRs
Mason Gray
He's just tsundere
Caleb Ross
igv, my blue screen issue was fixed in new medium FSRCNN shader. Thanks!
Ryan Cook
It also has the same brightness like everything else now!
Gabriel Cruz
Where do I download the new shader? I can't find it on igv's github page.
Tyler Sanchez
Go to FSRCNN/releases. The new one is FSRCNN_x2_r2_16-0-2.glsl.
So which one is the most weebs and display my animu nicest?
Hunter Bennett
Well... I don't have any config files. Downloaded the lachs0r build and it does create an mpv folder in appdata, but no files are there. Should I just create one and paste in some commands? It doesn't need some specific format, header or anything like that?
Ethan Roberts
Create txt file and rename it to mpv.conf.
Isaac Parker
Can I use FSRCNN-HQ+ewa_lanczossharp+ssim to upscale DVDs?
Brayden Perez
How do i "reduce compression artifacts" in mpv?
Liam Martinez
use deband download a better copy
Jonathan Parker
vf=pp=ac
Dominic Baker
Yes?
David Williams
There's some FSRCNN meme trained to remove artifacts, no?
Brandon Richardson
If I remember correctly SSSR doesn't work with pre-scalers.
Austin Miller
It can help with the additional scaling done after prescaling. DVD resolution still needs some conventional upscaling done after doubling to fit 1080p and up.
Daniel Garcia
Yeah but i need something much stronger.
Angel Brooks
Contact the Special Victims Unit over at the NYCPD. I hear they have some really strong enhancement filters that can help.
