When will DDR4 prices drop?

I want to buy a new system. The only thing preventing me from doing an upgrade is the DDR4 price spike.

Never.
Ryzen builds do better with high end ram and so Intel is bribing RAM manufacturers to limit ram production.

>Intel is bribing RAM manufacturers to limit ram production.
Proof?

Same
I was originally waiting for covfefe lake, but now now I want to see what zen+ brings to the table. By then I'll probably we waiting for IceLake. At that point I might wait some more for ddr5 to be released for whatever processors that will be around in 2020. But I never buy until the next gen of processors that use it.
Point is waiting is the best thing to do

His ass.
But yes, the cartel is limiting expansion of DRAM production.
Ironically, only HBM2 is getting ramped.

C R O N Y C A P I T A L I S M

Maybe in 4 years since the manufacturers banded together to keep the prices up.

Aren't normiephones to blame for eating up all the supply of chips? So DIMMs are getting the shit table scraps?

>Aren't normiephones to blame for eating up all the supply of chips?
That's merely an excuse for cartel to fix the pricing.

The only people who still buy components are gaymers, which is why they look like that image.

2019

tfw bought my new rig 5 weeks ago and the ram I got now increased in price by 24%

Not soon, the companies in charge of making DIMM chips are fixing prices.

No, just reducing production so they can increase prices thanks to the lack of inventory.

NAND prices will get cheap in 6-8 months though.

Stop being poor

Kill yourself you greedy soulless slant-eyed piece of gook shit.

Make your own cheap RAM then
or really just stop being poor

Kill yourself you soulless gook.

Why? I'm quite happy. Maybe it's because I stopped being poor :)

>>No, just reducing production so they can increase prices thanks to the lack of inventory.
it's not even them cutting production, they just stopped increasing it.

Micron and Samsung did decrease it, Micron did it multiple time.

But just look at Micron earnings this year.

As soon as Samsung, Hynix, et all get sick of money and decide to lower prices.

from what I hear, laptop manufacturers are using ddr4 so that's why prices are so high. I could be wrong but that's what I hear.
