>The Chinese government plans to launch its Social Credit System in 2020
>Imagine a world where many of your daily activities were constantly monitored and evaluated
>Higher scores have already become a status symbol, with almost 100,000 people bragging about their scores on Weibo (the Chinese equivalent of Twitter) within months of launch
>People with low ratings will have slower internet speeds; restricted access to restaurants and the removal of the right to travel

This is how modern communism looks like.

don't you want to have a motivation to be a productive member of society, user?

I guess that's one way to add motivation to communism. It also weeds out the fucking idiots.

I guess they really liked that one Black Mirror episode from season 3.

you guys are deluding yourselves if you believe socialists in us of a don't want to bring this to north america

They sure as hell do. I will be out there protesting if they try to do it.

retarded and delusional

>People with a score of 666 or above get special privileges

>Userscore at least 985000 or higher needed to enter to this city

Literally a dream world

what the fuck

isn't this basically a copy of what usa has?

China is fucking weird. I think the CCP is doing a lot of retarded shit and might collapse in the future.

>Search for gay porn
>Score goes down
>PANIC
>Now I need to work twice as hard and extra hours to get more points and my score back
>My neighbor just paid for more points with a fake account on black market, now the Police is rading his apartment

Guess who won't have social protection this month

Don't you mean modern capitalism?

This would be fun if users could rate each other rather than government officials doing it. I would upboat my Sup Forums brothers all day long.

That episode has been my worst nightmare since I saw it
Its happening

>measuring financial activity
vs
>measuring literally everything you do

There's a bit of a leap there.

>My neighbor just paid for more points with a fake account on black market, now the Police is rading his apartment

This is unlikely to be the case. This score system will have a back door in it to protect the wealthy from getting low scores. Anyone with enough money will just need to send a "gift" to the right person and get more points. Also their children will automatically start off with more points than the poor because nepotism is more important than individual merit.

Same shit we've always seen in different clothing.

China practices a combined hybrid system of Capitalism and Communism m8.
They don't treat these concepts as bibles or systems of belief, they treat them as tools and constantly tinker with them.
For better or for worse (better for society but worse for the individual in this case), China has an upper hand over the West now because it actually dares deconstruct and reconstruct and constantly play with systems of social and economic management and politics while the West is still stuck playing out religious wars except through ideologies.

I don't think it's a hard gap to clear

The west plays proxy wars to keep its citizens distracted. The march of progress will keep moving forward regardless of what color party is in power or if the citizens are killing each other in the streets.

I'm becoming more and more depressed about the world.

It's just... Going to be a Bad End. All of it.

I really thought technology was going to give us a Utopia someday.

Bring it, the west needs this.

>I really thought technology was going to give us a Utopia someday.

I thought the invention of electricity would give us a Utopia someday.
I got electronic warfare and WW2 instead.

I thought the invention of steam powered engine would give us a Utopia someday.
I got Imperialism and WW1 instead.

I thought the invention of the musket would give us a Utopia someday.
I got colonization and global war instead.

I thought the invention of the sailing ship would give us a Utopia someday.
I got sea piracy and sea invasions instead.

I thought the invention of metallurgy would give us a Utopia someday.
I got more effective war instead.

I thought the invention of the wheel would give us a Utopia someday.
I got a faster way to steal the wives of the opposing tribe instead and a faster way to deploy our warriors.

I thought the invention of a spaceship would give us a Utopia someday.
I got a guy from /x/ raping an alien and inciting an extraterrestrial interstellar war instead.

>inevitable whataboutist comment
>"sure communist china kills a bazillion people every year but what about that time capitalist america did something wrong huh whatabout that whatabout it literally teh same evil"
>You have gained 20 social credits for this comment. thank you for your service citizen

But seriously though, it is completely different. Banks just want to know how likely you are to pay back a loan. So they don't give them to people who can't manage money. They don't give a shit about your political beliefs or how much of a nonconformist you are. You can still eat at a restaurant or travel if you have a bad credit score. A lot of people get by without even knowing they have a bad credit score.

In Western countries credit scores are also regulated to hell. Even America which is usually pretty laissez faire about this stuff. They aren't even allowed to use machine learning or a great deal of relevant data because the machines kept learning wrongfacts about muh norities.

They need it considering how many shitty people per capita they have. But they still have a lot of shitty people so it's probably a sign that it doesn't work.

Facebook and Google still allow just that, especially Facebook which explicitly caters to your worldviews and helps foster animosity. Sure, you can say banks and advertisers are two different institutions, but the government still has full access to this data and more than likely uses a similar process internally as China for sorting citizens and maintaining compliance. The only difference is China's is publicly available.

This is some Black Mirror type shit.

>the government keeping track of how you spend loaned money
vs
>the government literally taking control of your entire life just based on the things you say on Twitter
yeah, totally the same thing

>>the government literally taking control of your entire life just based on the things you say on Twitter
How's this a bad thing? The only ones who stand to lose are the more retarded leftists, since Twitter is their triggerade stage.

>What we have now
vs
>What we will have in 3-5 years thanks to social media

old news

Am I the only one who thinks this is a good thing? Less degenerates desu

Fuck you, Akane. You could have saved everyone from Sybil.
