I'm kinda on this weird Viking kick at the moment because I recently found out I'm more nord than anything else after doing one of those DNA tests. I'm aware that shows like Vikings are pretty historically inaccurate, but it's entertaining while I'm actually learning the real history of my ancestors. I'm just amused at how many things the world at large associates with Vikings that had nothing to do with them, and how they think all nords were Vikings, or don't realize that 3/4 of the year "Vikings" were just normal people trying to live to see another day, and in the spring would go out exploring and trading (and yes, sometimes raiding and pillaging, but not raping as nords were one of the first people to have laws against rape)

Anyway, tl;dr i know it's not truly indicative of my ancestry, but it's a part of the culture i find interesting
